Why is that? On paper Aria seems to have better specs (at least when it comes to screen resolution)

Dude, why don't you just do some basic reading around instead if troubling other people for extremely basic information you could fins out yourself?

[Q] Hello Everyone
Dear All,
I am new to this section, however associated with this forum since 2008, I am using HTC Excalibur presently and shortly planning to shift to Wildfire, I am looking for your suggestions & advices whether should I go for this device or else.
Respect for All
Peace
Karan Adhikari
I personally think this is a great device and it is brilliant value for money but there are 2 major flaws for me:
Speed:
I find it a bit laggy and it is not as nippy as, say, the desire. This is mainly because of it's slower, 528 MHz processor but it is not meant for speed and meant to be a budget phone.
Display:
The screen is very low res (QVGA to be precise). This low resolution means that not all apps are available on the Android Market and that sometimes text is a bit hard to read.
Despite those issues, if you want a good, budget android phone then go for the Wildfire.
Both of the above. If you can afford it, the desire is a better device but, for the price, the Wildfire is an excellent device.

One reason I bought the Wildfire over the Desire is its more compact size......will report my experience back shortly.....
Hi guys,
I might buy a HD2 and I want to do everything that a current DHD or DesireZ can do. So keeping this in mind what are things that I shouldnt expect from HD2 ?
Does it delivers every thing that a nexus one /desire/DZ/DHD deliver ?
I wanted to buy DHD... But its not available in US. Its quite expensive also. And no other options for 4.3 Inch screen
Thanks, Help me decide whether or not to buy this phone as an altenative for desire Z/Desire HD

I don't quite understand what you're asking. You're asking for help with a decision, but from what I'm reading, there is only one option?
To answer your more obvious question, I believe development for DHD/DHZ has stagnated, and the only thing it's missing is the camera. Not sure when/if devs will finish that. The Evo, desire, and nexus builds are pretty much 100% done though

If you're in the US, why don't you buy an Evo? I'm sure the new Sense will be ported to it (if it hasn't been already).
If you want the ability to switch between Windows Mobile and different Android builds, get the HD2.
If you want a native Android phone with similar (not the same though, before the pedants flame me) hardware to the HD2 get the Desire.
If you want a more up dated similar Android phone get the Desire HD.
If you want a hardware keyboard get the Z.
Thats pretty much it sport
Thanks
Coming to a conclusion that this phone is not a pure native android phone
Its better I w8 for Nexus S or go with DHD
As a TMOUS user I would just get the Desire HD if it was my first phone and I had the upgrade option. But I didnt, so I wanted the next best thing, a phone I could convert into a Desire HD, which was the HD2. I found one new in the box on craigs list for $250 and shelled out. Studied up on modding it and made it look like the Desire HD.
I'm also a TMOUS user and found one of craigslist for under 200. Until they come out with a new 4.3 android phone, this will be it for me. I don't get the data drops and the only issue I come across is the 10 second lag in autorotate with the touchscreen. I'll take that. If the Desire HD (or comparable) ever comes to the US that's what I will move to
Looks like camera fix is available on Desire HD builds now....
what you shouldn't expect a droid hd2...prefection.some builds are still WIP or some bugs not resolved.
then we have the nand camp who wants droid on their fone, wiping out winmo completely.this is still WIP.and still some impt issues not resolved.
other than that,hd2 is pretty impressive even with stock winmo.not that much of a diff between dhd other than a updated hardware.
if you like cutomising the hell out of ur fone but lack the money,go for hd2.you get spoilt to booting winmo cooked rom or droid builds available in the forums.

I dont know how you don't know that? It's a windows mobile 6.5 phone. How can a windows phone be a pure native android phone? If you are looking for a phone that can do exactly what a DHD or a Desire Z, you would have to get one of those phones as no other phone currently runs the new htc sense. The closest phone to a DHD or a Desire Z in US is an EVO 4G.
Ive had my HD2 for 10 months now and ive realy enjoyed the phone. Messing about with it and running android for the past 3 months.
I have now got a freebie HTC desire and im humming and erring whether to move over to the desire. Its a lovely phone and I do love android but..... I will miss the 4.3" screen...
What can I do, I dont think I can sell the desire as it was a gift so i cant get the Desire HD.....
HELP
Personally I would keep running Android on the HD2 if you have it nice and stable - much better hardware than the old Desire and you can run the same OS
Thank the person who got you the gift, but tell them you already had your eye on a new phone, then sell them both and get a Desire HD.
That is, of course, if you're not interested in ever running WP7.

The desire has the same hardware as the hd2 except the screen is a little smaller.
I would read through the desire section on xda, root it and tweak it and play with android on the desire for a few weeks and see which phone you like better. My friend has a desire that runs much better than any build I've tried on the hd2. You have to root and tweak it, but you can easily get 3500+ quadrant scores with a desire.
Or sell both desire and hd2 and get a desire HD or nexus s.

I would really like the desire HD but i would also wanna play with wp7... i think i might leave it for a few month so he might forget about the phone
sell it and let the Desire HD be the Insurance replacement
If it was free, simply keep both But my vote is for HD2, Android is getting better and better and then WP7, gotta love it
If you're only here for Android go with the desire or desire hd. Root, tweak, flash a custom rom, it'll prolly run way better than anything our hd2 Android builds can give.
If you like to try out different stuff you might as well stick with your hd2 seeing as multiple OS ports are coming its way.
I want to give another 100 Euros for a new desire hd and I'am in doubt is somebody who has both devices and say that is a huge difference betwen thouse two?
I don't have both devices, so I don't know how different a real Desire HD will be from a HD2 running a Desire HD build.
However, €100 for a Desire HD sounds like a bargain. I'd certainly go for it.

I think he was talking about giving his HD2 plus 100 euros for a Desire HD which is a bit different than buying a Desire HD for 100euros
/ontopic - I would!

Heh, that would make a bit more sense.
Hmm... I'm not sure I would, if that's the case. Even though I hardly ever use Windows Mobile nowadays, I like the fact you can run multiple OS's on the HD2. The Desire HD is a wonderful phone, I'm sure, but for me it's not enough of an upgrade to consider moving from my HD2.
Hd2 vs desire hd
well...
HD2 vs DESIRE HD
hd2-can choose many builds..one day you can even run WP7..can use ram builds!
also desire hd builds is faster than desire hd phone!games also are playable as well as desire hd,browsing via internet has similar speed!tried it ...
Desire HD...only good for 720 p recording and downloading faster via market app..but now with ram version hd2 downloads faster!
my girlfriend has desire HD... overall HD2 is a bit faster!!
so i wouldnt trade it even for free
i like playing with my hd2

Did you played with your gf phone? how is with new buttons, I heard the screen is same as hd2. And Be more clear her desire hd is a bit faster or hd2 I cant understand it perfectly?
wait untill NAND comes out. I think on the 1st of January. Then make ur dissision (or however u spell it, stupid dictionary wont correct it :O )
Ok , I°ll wait until 1 st , 2012
I can think of much better ways to spend €100.
The only people I know who say a Desire HD is better than a HD2 running a Desire HD ROM are biased Desire HD owners. I know plently that have said it's the same (if not a little worse). Yeah, they like the fact that it's a truly native Android device, but it doesn't work any better or do anything better, and it doesn't have the capabilities offered by the HD2.

But in the same way, hd2 owners are going to be biased towards saying the hd2 is better. I'm sure once you root and tweak a desire HD like the hd2 is, the desire HD will run better than a hd2. An original desire runs better than a hd2 once it's rooted and tweaked right. Personally, I still wouldn't trade my hd2 for any of them, though, because I still like being able to boot into winmo and easily switch builds, and android runs good enough for me on the hd2. You won't find a better multi-os booting phone. But if you are only going to use android, a native phone can be made to run android better than a hd2.

I have both of them, hd2 is the same as desire hd when i use Mdj froyo sense MDJ FroYo Sense Clean v. 2.4 and even faster when i use ram vertions of android.
Although i tried and the desire hd vertion in my hd2 and i must to admit that is significatly slower than Desire Hd in this occation. But if i had to chose i would chose the hd2 because it is customisable

Is your desire HD rooted and modified like the hd2 builds are? Or is it still stock? It's not really a fair comparison unless its rooted and modded.

No because hd2 have hw buttons.
i wouldn't rather, save 100 eu for later next year..
maybe i can ask here so i don't open another thread, what do you guys think is it worth exchanging my 11m old hd2 for 1m galaxy s and then selling it and buying another hd2 with more warranty? just thinking..
htc are bringing out the thunderbolt for you guys in the U.S,basicly the phone itself is a lot like our Desire HD however could the rom itself have some improvements, extra features, could it be lighter than Desire HD,will it be Faster Than Desire HD,the other thing is it might be better for those who have the TMOUS HD2.the guys over on the Evo section have been trying it so is a port possible,Theres only one way to find out, port it
