The back button (soft key at the bottom of the screen and the one in the browser) goes to the previous page/pages when I click it, what website are you having the problem on, some websites unfortunately don't want you to ever leave.

had an ameo for a week and love it.
but ...
when i click the web & walk button on the left og the screen to open oprea it does not go to my hoe page 'google' instead it goes to the silly tmobile home page.
also on the keybore. a button of a sun, what does this do?? i can not assign it to anything. any ideas.
You can change the homepage with a Registry key.
Search th registry for PIE and t-mobile, I cant remember the exact key.
HKLM/SOFTWARE/HTC/PIEplug
change the string value Home to the page you want.
the button with the picture of a sun is for turning the backlight back on. kind of useful I guess!

I first thought this when I had this button first on my Universal. Wait for the backlight to go dim, then press the backlight button and the screen will light up. I suppose it's to stop you pressing a button that might perform another function as well as reilluminate the screen.

So it does - I was hoping maybe it would turn it off as well.
Thanks!

Short Tutorial about how to change Opera start page
I have written a short tutorial about how to change the default Opera home page (i.e. first page that opens when you start the Ameo browser).
It is at http://www.tomfotherby.com/blog/index.php/2008/01/change-the-opera-start-page-on-the-ameo-jan08/
Cheers,
Tom
I noticed that in the stock ( and actually also any other browser ) browser when you hit the back button , it will display the previous page but from the top of it and not where you actually where. That's quite annoying especially when clicking a link in the middle of a very long page.

Mine goes back to where I had been at.
So does mine.
Hmm, now you make me nervous. If I hit the back button the browser will go back to the previous page and for few seconds ( until it finishes to load the page ) it will show it to the exact point where I left it. But then the page will be scrolled all the way up to the very top of it.
Please confirm that I am the only one.

Mine does it too. What's annoying is that when I go to another app then back to the browser...it loads the previous page I was on instead of the page I left.
Why don't you long press and open in new tab/window?
Then you definitely know where you were, and can continue browsing through the link without losing your page/place.
Quick question for people who have this app, how the heck do you go back to the homepage once youre in your contacts? Its stuck on my contacts page and when I try to go back to the main page to see my whatsapp contact list, seems like there is no way of going back
Hit the retun key. Third button from left on the bottom of your phone.

well there is one way around it. I went into my gallery and clicked on share, it gave me the option of whether to do it as a MMS (which by the way isnt working for me at the moment) ot through whatsapp. i clicked on that and can kinda make my way back to my whatsapp contacts. But this is one long way of getting there.
not rooted and on the latest update
Ive noticed that there are times when i hit the back button on the browser, it will take me back 2 pages instead of the previous page.
Say for example im on google's home page. I look something up, find and click a link.. once i hit the back arrow (either on the browser app or tablet arrow), it will take me all the way back to the google home page..
anyone notice this before? am i missing an option?
thanks
Does anyone else have an issue using the stock browser when using the back button? When I follow a link and try to go back to the previous page, it always sends me back up to the very top of the page. Is there any way to fix this other than using a different browser?
Previous page is reseting always to default page on stock browser v4.1.2
