I was able to easily root my Bravo using SuperOneClick. However when I insert a T-Mobile Sim, It is asking me for a "Sim Network unlock PIN". I assumed it is still carrier lock to AT&T. Is there a easy way do a carrier unlock??
I know is rooted. I get the "#" prompt after issuing an su command.
PLease help.

Yes, it's absolutely free. You only needs register on forum, then press yellow button "Получить Unlock code" on bottom (from left side) any forum topic and enter in open window your phone model, carrier and IMEI.
Thanks, let me try it. I will let you know.

Well I recently sent my IMEI for another but I received nothing, I had to write to some of the moderator so that he sent me the code.
I have unlocked two bravos now, today I received the code for the other bravo I bought!
Easiest way to get your Sim unlock code
Your Sim unlock or subsidy code is made from the IMEI number on your phone. The most relyable codes come from the carrier that the phone belongs to. E.G. I took me 10 mins to get my subsidy code from AT&T, That includes my waiting and hold times. If they won't give it to you just tell them your going overseas for awhile and they'll be more willing to give it to you. If you found this helpful there's a thanks buttion below. Give it a push!
i just got mine unlocked from the russain forum, they work real fast , its awesome
hmmmmmmmmmmm
I tried the russain forum and I couldn't even get past the registration part. The Google Translator just came up with an error after error. I was getting so frustrated I just gave up for now.
To alexey_tolstyh : Did you get my PM I sent you?
My g/f called AT&T today and told them she bought the phone from someone that had an account with AT&T and that she needed an unlock code for it. The Rep. asked her for the IMEI number and then gave her the unlock code after about a minute. The call lasted about 7 minutes. Wow what a surprise.
If anyone needs a bravo unlocked just pm or email me. I have an account on the Russia forum and my google works. [email protected] i'll get you your code as soon as i get it.

June 2011 RE-EDIT... Use the instructions here or here to unlock.
EDIT: SIM-Lock on JI6 has been solved for me with helroz's repair_nv_data.zip, read further along...
Page 11, Post 103 has a good copy of the instructions (but read the whole thread)
Also, heres a link to the corresponding thread in the Captivate forums
Can someone who has had Tmobile US for at least 40 days put a request in for an unlock code for my Vibrant? I only have ATT and no friends with Tmo. The Tmobile unlock team already refused my request. You would just need to call Customer Service, ask for the unlock team. I tried all the solutions in the forums - I have a messed up nv_data (bought it on craigslist). Shoot me a PM if your willing to help. Thanks in advance.
how many days since you have your vibrant?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I bought it 2 days ago from a guy on craigslist
There is an apk you can get called sgs unlock and it will give you the unlock code
the sgs unlocker doesn't work if the vibrant's had the JI6 update flashed or any other custom ROMs in it.
I'm also trying to unlock my JI6 updated vibrant. I was a dumbass and didn't unlock it when it was on JFD.
I paid cellunlocker.net for a code, but apparently it takes up to 3 days to get the code.
Yup,it had ji6 when I got it, and tmo won't give me the code cause I'm not their customer
And abaybas, please let me know if the code you get works
In this case, would you be able to unlock it if you flash your phone with JFD stock ROM then flash it back to JI6?
Nope. I odin'd back to stock. Ive tried the fixes. I just need someone to contact tmo for me
Ill do it. Whats the imei on the phone? it can take up to 72hrs but most times when I call its less.
No need! Just got it unlocked with a file that helroz sent me
Repeat: You can unlock a JI6 flashed phone using a file that changes the SIM unlock code (I was running bionix fusion when i did it)
Someone please work with him to turn it into an app if thats possible... its just a couple bat files and a jar that edit the files i believe
Thanks so much french dude (helroz)
wow can't believe you can do that in JI6 update, cuz i know about one unlock method that erases your phone's IMEI number and unlocks it permanently but thats questionable to be.
he sent me a repair_nv_data.zip and it fixed my nv_data and maintained the imei thats listed under my battery

Can you post that file and and the steps you took to recover here? I'm sure someone in the same situation will find it valuable.

I am actually in the same situation. I cant get mine unlocked using the app because it doesnt give me an unlock code and just says 'are you sure this is a galaxy s phone?'. I also tried paying for a code and the code did not work, the guy who did it also retried a second time and the code was the same, so I dont know whats up with that. My IMEI is the same as whats on my original box. I tried hacking the nv_data.bin myself using the guide posted somewhere in the i9000 thread. If someone could send me that fix I would be very grateful.

why don't you try calling t-mobile and get your code?
the sgs unlocker won't work to me too. my only chance left is the code from t-mobile.

Getting an unlock code is easy enough...just call T-Mobile if you are a TMO US customer and request one, or use an online service to get one.
I want to know if anybody here sell unlock codes for this model PM or just answer the forum posting the prices please

Since your in the vibrant section, I'm going to assume your on t mobile. tmo will give you the codes for free. Also there is an app in the market for sgs unlocking, also free. There are also numerous threads here an how to do it manually, but I'm going to assume that you can't find them because if you had googled how to unlock sgs vibrant you would already know all that I said above.
Beware of angry gingerbread man
I made some research and its call sgs unlocker, but it doesnt do anything, I will keep looking on the forum for more answers, but if you could help me a bit more will be fine , by the way thx for the fast response
Call or chat T-Mobile support and tell them you are traveling out of the country and want an unlock code. They will e-mail it to you.

Have you tried the Galaxy_S unlock by helroz on the market? Works great for me but remember to backup your EFS so you don't lose your IEME number.
The other one is Samsung Unlock Tool and it doesn't work for me.

For members who are on the MF3 firmware, what is your experience of Sim unlocking? It seems many are unable to sim unlock. Has anyone successfully sim unlocked, and how have you done it? I'm sure there would be a lot of members who would appreciate the feedback.
i buy my att s4 at full price and requested an unlock code from customer service, they gave me a 10 digit unlock code that worked fine, i am on the f*****ing mf3 firmware... thinking of selling the phone and getting an european version... will see later...
in the past i tested an unlock apk that brute force the unlock code, as it's a 10 digit code you could try that, it will take some hours of key testing, but you will get the code finally and for free don't remember the name of the application have a look on the play store or on aptoide
Cheers
I just did the chat with international care and they gave me the code.

I have had no issues with the code AT&T gave me I used a friends T-Mobile card to unlock
Hello,
I am sorry to ask this again but I have an AT&T S4 that's currently stock and runing 4.4.2 and I was wondering if there is any way to unlock it for T-mobile? I tired following some of the posts on here but they seem to be old and outdated. Does anyone have any other suggestions?'
Thanks!

If you are an AT&T customer or a previous member you can unlock your AT&T phone by going here. It is FREE and i have done it with all my phones so far. They provide you with an unlock code and all you have to do is insert the new non-at&t sim and enter the unlock code.

Since you have the unlock code, it will be almost the same thing. All you do is insert the non-att sim card and it will ask you to enter the unlock code. Enter the code and now you have an unlocked phone.
