and when i connect it to my root iconia i can't see any thing in it
what shuold i do?

anyone?please?

well it would seem your card reader is not supported.
Some USB hard drives are supported.
I have a usb adapter that you slide an sd card in and it works.
I just tried a GE card reader I have and it works in my Iconia but it does not work in my Archos 101.
So maybe your brand is not supported.

Can't Format 2 GB miniSD (What card reader do you guys use?)

Hey guys,
I have a 2 GB mini SD that was acting up, so I went to format it and everything went smoothly until I realized that my card reader only supported 1 GB cards.
So now I have half of my card sitting around being wasted.
What card readers/work arounds do you guys use? Any generic drivers I could use to enable 2 gb fuctions from my reader?
Can't you just transfer items through your Wizard?
--edit--
Nvm, reread your post ^^;;
Anyway, what brand 2gb is it?
Yes, tell us the brand of card and the card reader. I thought most modern card readers would be capable of reading 2, 4 or even greater size cards.
Although it may be cheaper just to get a new card reader, try the attached utililty first.
My brand new Belkin Media Reader wouldn't read a 2GB card, but a cheapo 6-in1 media reader from Jessps (UK store) works fine.
Try using Pocket Mechanic on the Wizard, or pick up a Iogear GFR201SDM (a usb thumb drive you can stick a MiniSD card into) at your local CompUSA -- it'll set you back about $10.00.
http://www.softick.com/pocket-pc/cardexport2/
This program allows you to swith between activesync mode and card export mode. When in card export and you plug your device into a pc via usb it detects it as a "USB Mass Storage". So it makes your wizard's storage card like one of those USB Jumpdisks. Thats what i used last a couple of days ago when my card got corrupted and had to reformat.
I tried this software but in the windows device manager , the USB mass storage device appears with a "!" ... in the device detais an error message appears "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" ... have any idea about this ???

Card reader through USB adapter

Picked up the adapter at Best Buy. One of the main reasons I need it for is shooting photos and then transferring a few of those to the GT.
Got home and took the card out of the camera and plugged in my San Disk card reader into the USB. It doesn't even recognize it. I need to find a way to get the photos from the camera into the Tab.
Anybody know any tricks I may be doing wrong or will it just not work?
Hmm, that's strange because my USB adapter worked with every USB stick and memory card reader I tried it with. Does yours work with any USB storage devices?
Do you have a PC? As a temporary measure you could use ES File Explorer (Estrong) to browse the pics on shared folder and copy them to your Tab.
Sent from my HTC Desire
seagull my thing is I have to cover events and shoot with a camera. From that event I was going to use Galaxy Tab and Sprint portable Mifi to upload stories and a few photos directly from event. But if the San Disk reader (with camera disk inserted) isn't going to read the card reader I'm a tough situation.
What format are the sd cards in. I don't know if it will affect it, but I know the USB adapter only reads flash drives in FAT32 format.
This was covered in another forum. The San Disk card have a file preinstalled on them that must be read which the galaxy cannot read. Get any card other than San Disk and you should be fine.

Are you running the Bonsai ROM by any chance? The Bonsai kernels apparently completely hosed up USB host support.
I've had no problems with the following combo:
Rosewill SDHC reader
Transcend SDHC card (16 GB)
Pentax K-5 (had to put it into JPEG mode for the Tab to be able to do anything with the files of course. But it could see/copy DNGs just not do anything with them.)

[Q] Help as my HTC Shift does not recognise a 64GB SDXC card

I currently have a 32SDHC card from Transcend working well with my HTC Shift.
I just bought a 64GB SDXC card from deolux in eBay and when I plug it into my HTC Shift card reader port, the machine does not blink (it does not even recognise that a new device has been plugged). I was not sure if it was going to work but I am surprise that the HTC Shift does not even recognise that something new is plug in the sdcard reader.
When I put the SDXC card through a USB adapter and connect it to the USB port, it works well, however when I plug the SDXC 64GB card in the SD port, the machine does not do anything.
Would appreciate help with this
I went the SDCard organisation and I found there is Microsoft driver for Windows 7 and Vista so that it can recognise cards above 32GB but when I tried to install this driver, the installation software told me that I could not install it in my machine.
Again, I was not expecting the SDXC to work immediately but I am surprised the ports does not blink when a new card is inserted.
Help is appreciated.
Regards
Claudio
sdxd is not supported on the shift.

Samsung ver 1.3 micro sd questions

Hey guys, I got my phone and the sd card about 4 months after the WP7 launch. It went smoothly and I enjoy WP OS. My Question/problem is I have multiple card readers and adapters but windows 7 both on my laptop and desktop won't read the card. The card formats into the OS on the phone and works fine but when I get into computer management it just shows H:/ no media. I have tried the windows fix for code 10 and 43 and driver updates, uninstalls, reinstalls of the usb spots in device manager w/o luck. I have two targus media card readers with sd and micro sd slots. windows recognizes card in with the sound both with sd and micro hookd to either reader. I use the adapter also on my laptop with a media card reader in it w/o luck either. I am trying to get it to detect so I can format it to work with my 3ds. Please message me or email [email protected].

I assumed you already read the Samsung Focus wiki on the SD card topic.
Once you put the microsd, it becomes part of the OS and the card [format] becomes unreadable under OS/card readers. Removing it from the phone would result in phone data loss, the phone would ask for the card and not work anymore until you hard reset. So make sure you got all your media backed up before you do this.
Now, if you want the card removed from the phone and used somewhere else, it's kinda tough. Basically, if you search through the forum, you'd see that you need another device to unlock (re-format) the card:
- a Focus with a custom ROM (these have the card unlock utility installed)
- a Nokia symbian N or E series phone (N95, E7x etc) supporting microsd
- a camera (which may see the card and format it - not all brands may work)

SD and Micro SD card support

Hello
I wanted to know if one plus 5 can read either the Micro SD or the SD card, if I use a card reader for this. I tried with one : https://www.amazon.com/Vanja-standa...martphones/dp/B01JJ1VDQK/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_t
Though my laptop read both the cards (and my laptop has a SD card slot) but none of my phones or my tablet did. So I was wondering if one plus 5 has the support to read the memory cards.
thanks

Well, it has support for USB OTG (on the go), and I have tested the USB OTG with a USB C OTG flash drive and it did work. You have to enable it in the settings first, and I can't get TWRP to see it, but it works fine in file browser apps.

I want the micro SD and SD cards I have in my older phone/tablet and my laptop to be read by my one plus 5 phone. Flash drive is OK, but not micro SD or SD card.
thanks

I know, I'm just saying, it has OTG support, which is what the thing you linked is. So in theory, it should work. But no promises.
OK, if you can get an adaptor to fit the sd card reader (usb-A to c), found one in my S8+ box, then you can use the sd card adaptor. Tried with one I have and an older sd card. Read fine...

can you send an image of the connection?
and also which card reader u r using?
It is something like this - https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/comsol-usb-type-c-to-type-a-adaptor-cocmafad or this https://www.firefold.com/adapter-us...OJySZV1E44FQIt58RIlHe51HLDHD67YaAv6LEALw_wcB- but all in one with a lexar micro sd reader attached.
I found mine in the Samsung galaxy S8+ box
what why just get a USB-c micro sd car reader. Slide the micro sd card into and plug it in. Forget all the crazy wired adapters. Something like this....
https://www.amazon.com/Lexar-microS...29&sr=8-3&keywords=usb+c+micro+sd+card+reader
Mine allows more than just sd cards - old school usb keys that aren't OTG, possibly HDD's/SSD's and other USB equipment.
If you just want micro sd cards though, that's a good idea....

Hello
Till now I have tried all these sd and micro sd card readers from amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019PI2WPS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JJ1VDQK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NBECO3G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and I am sorry to say, that none of them work with One Plus 5. The phone does not read the cards at all. Is there something in the OS that maybe does not allow the cards to be read?
I really need something that works, or some workaround, since I have 3 different cards, with lots of my music on them.
2 cards are exFat and one card is vFat, if that helps.
The Flash drive with the OTG cable works OK.
thanks

No idea. I toggle the OTG on in settings and just plug mine in and it works.
Hello
OK I have got it working now. I installed Total Commander file manager and that read my sd card. So now ES File Explorer also reads it. The thing is that I have to keep total commander installed, otherwise ---- Es File Explorer stops reading the card.
Yep, OTG seems to only allow the Stock file explorer toread the OTG devices, nice to know the workaround...
