Saw a commercial for the shift last night. Best buy is offering it free. Does this mean we are near extinction for support from sprint? Not that HTC or Sprint have been giving us much love anyway, just curious.

The Shift may be not the most popular device but I highly doubt it's reached EOL. If I can find a hp touchpad during the firestorm, you would think I could find an article confirming the Shift eol... but no luck.

Well guys ive had my hero since launch and she has been great to me for sure but my evo showed up at my door today. I helped alot of you and tons of you helped me for sure. The heroc forum was my favorite so far(ive been in 4 other lol) what a great bunch of guys(talented ones might i add). I just wanted to say thanks and show appreciation to the devs and other users whom i became friends with and or enemies . Well i guess i will be moving to the EVO forum *tear* peace out dude.

I've been past my date for a few months now (upgrade) and have thought of going EVO, but still love my Hero much, lol, as such, I'm hesitant to make the jump.
I wish they made the Hero with a snapdragon processor and a slightly larger screen and all would be good, hahaha. HTC Knight maybe???
What are your thoughts. Your opinion is valued and appreciated!

I'm in love man it was only 99 bucks at radio shack can't beat that with a bat. Plus its a tad thinner than the evo but both phones are worthy upgrades.

I've been debating for a while now whether to go ahead and get an EVO, but something keeps nagging at me that once I do, they'll announce a new, faster, better phone.
I guess with CES coming up, that will be all the announcements we'll have for the quarter. That'll have to be the time to come to a final decision.

Yeah but for 99 you can't beat it and the evo won't be outdated for a while plus so many devs jumped ship to the evo it probably the hottest forum right now.

Epic has the screen, keyboard, and is blazing fast. Much faster than the evo on 2.1 than the evo is on 2.2

I'm hoping it gets here before memorial day weekend when I have to go out of town.
I don't have any inside resources on this myself but just going off the obvious "work" that Sammy/Sprint are putting into all this its looks like we are going to see more builds/official real soon.
Plus EE03 was/is pretty darn good. This (EE19) is 2 builds later so its gotta be darn close to debugged.
Only release date "guess" I have seen floated is around 6/20
Would be very nice if that pans out

Who wants to read through 50+ pages just to see if something has already been posted and the link descriptions in the OP are rather vague.
As for the topic at hand, EOL doesn't mean support is suddenly stopped. Just means they aren't going to replenish their inventory anymore and sell them until they are gone. EVO is hitting EOL at the same time. Just over a year sounds about right for a smartphone's shelf life, especially with how fast the manufacturers are churning out newer models.

Anyways ..epic was good while it last it.I myself moved on to the EVO 3d........ 1 month down..11more months to my next upgrade.

Why do they translate English to english? It's from sprintfeed, which is an American site and hasn't said any gb epic predictions since July. I think that's what they're referencing. I also liked how their translation for Verizon was the AT&T one (Captivate).

If the nexus one will not get the ICS then I don't think the epic will get it either, and that's because of the 512mb rom size that those phones have is in not enough for ICS...
the only solution for this problem is to partition the sd-card memory and move the extra system files there.
but I think neither Samsung nor even Google, will use this solution and they will just claim that our hardware is not supported and move on.
