? Here, please use the 8.12 or 8.5 mesmerize version of miui as most are having problems with the 19 version. I'm currently still running 8.12 with data working but the rom does mess up your mms settings but everything else works fine.
Do you guys understand what exactly changes that breaks 3g? It seems like the "miui fix" kinda works but there isn't an understanding of why it works. It would seem to me that you would just need to reset the the NVitems 465, 466, 1192, 1194 to whatever settings were working w/ a 2.2 rom.

Hi. I have an HTC hero from Telus. I was extremely happy with my phone's operation until I upgraded it to 2.1. This is the Telus upgrade and I have not rooted my phone (yet).
Ever since then:
* have been dropping calls
* have been losing antenna
* not able to make a call: I would have to try 2 or sometime even 3 times to be able to dial a number
* some of my text messages are not received by the recipients
I have done a hard reset after I upgraded my phone, but it did not help. I only have a total of 5 or 6 apps installed. After the hard reset, I waited before installing the apps. Even without any of the apps installed, I was still dropping calls.
My guess is that there is an issue with the baseband version that came with the new (2.1) install. Here is what I have right now:
baseband: 63.18.55.06SU_6.35.17.03
Kernel: 2.6.29-7527f009
build#: 3.36.661.1 CL199109
SW#: 3.36.661.1
Any ideas on what I can do to make things as stable as they were on 1.5? I'm guessing I will have to root my phone and install a different version on it, considering HTC or Telus won't be fixing this issue any time soon.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can use to make the PHONE functionality most stable? (I use my phone as a phone first and then other things). Which baseband version and which SW version? I don't have a preference between 1.5, 2.1, or 2.2 as long as it's stable.
Thanks for your help.
Update your radio pal. Start with the newest, if it is not perfect, try the next one along. Google "villain rom GSM hero radio" for the links. Use btdag's noob guide in the dev section for a quality tutorial on flashing roms and radios.
Pretty sure the OP already has the latest and greatest radio. This radio gets the best signal strength for me with slightly more battery drain than before.
OP, where in the country do you reside?
Since I've been using 2.2 ROMs for the last few months, I suggest trying these for stability:
*AOSP ROMs*
Elelinux-6.2.0-RC0-Hero (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906552)
Floyo 1.2.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=784689)
An online buddy of mine (who has thoroughly tested all the ROMs) says Cronos 2.1 is a good one:
*Sense ROMs*
Cronos 2.1.4.1 Sense Eclair (http://www.cronosproject.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=279)
Cronos 2.1.4.2 Light Eclair(http://www.cronosproject.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=397)
Thanks. I will pick one of the ones you suggested and root my phone this weekend. I'll report back if the problem doesn't go away.
Had the same problem as you, the solution i found is to use "WCDMA only" and not "GSM / WCDMA auto " in network mode. Works great since.
I am on Telus with their 2.1
I was already on WCDMA preferred. Changing it to WCDMA only didn't make a difference.
I rooted last night and tried the Elelinux-6.2.0-RC0-Hero first. But really missed the feel of sense. Cronos site was down last night, so I went with Tegro-2.3 for now. I haven't upgraded the radio from the base recovery image yet. I'll wait and see how things work. Now that I am setup for rooting, I will change until I find a build that is fully operational and has no lag.
Thanks everyone.
I use HTC Hero Cronos Ginger 1.0.1 now, it's like having a new phone, everything is perfect and very very really very fast.
excuse me may I ask you that what radio room is?
is it included in our ROM ( such as elelinux , cyanogen v.v.....) or it must be install in another way?
Hi Guys,
Ive flashed AOKP Milestone 3 (3g version) to my Galaxy Tab 10.1. After flashing it i cant even start the initial setup because I keep getting a message "Unfortunately. the process com.android.phone has stopped working" I keep clicking ok and it wont go away.
Ive tried wiping the dalvik, cache, and Factory reset with no luck. If I flash the WiFi only version it seems to work fine but trying to flash the 3g version always brings up that message.
any advice?

I might try flashing one the builds then. Any annoying bugs with build 23? all i want is a fairly stable ICS rom for my tablet that will allow for 3g sharing. As far as i know there are only two roms out with ICS cyanogenmod and AOKP and Cyanogen doesnt have the camera working.
I didnt try any of the builds as they are meant to be less stable and the milestone should work with 3g (its not like what im getting is listed on any of the known issues) so kinda thought it was something i was doing wrong.
BTW my tablet is a Vodafone Ireland one, shouldnt make any difference as its not the Tab 10.1V its the P7500 thin tablet that most people have.
ok tried that and it worked, put the apn's in and even though i dont get that com.android.phone has stopped message anymore it wont connect to data. im sure the apn settings are correct. Im going to try and flash a newer build and post back if im still having any issues. Thanks for your help guys. BTW ICS totally rocks on my tablet i get crazy battery life out of it (although that might be because i cant get any data )
Flashed milestone 4 and everything works great. Thanks for your help guys
I've been trying different MIUI ROMs from miui.us (united worldwide) looking for the most stable MIUI ROM. I really like that series but I cannot find one where the bluetooth works for a US T-Mobile HD2. It will never complete the pairing process and will not transmit data. My car kit says pairing was sucessful but the phone never shows the pairing process complete.
I reflashed the phone, Task29ed, reinstalled, repartitioned, switched from Magldr to CLK and back and same issue. Sense ROMs work fine though. I even tried this on a 2nd HD2 that I have and the exact same issue. Even flashed a kernel that one of the mods posted up in the forums (miui.us) and that didn't work either.
So I'm just looking for a working MIUI based ROM or a way to fix this issues. Anyone have a good working miui based ROM to suggest?
I'm currently using jaguaralani v21 minuit gingerbread 2.3.7. Its great, bt, wf, phone, mms, market, etc, all good. Was using same but v20 and was perfect, don't know why I upgraded, lol.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium
JaguarMIUI
JaguarMIUI is very good, though battery drain is high as compared to other ROMs.
Other wise everything is working.
i am using NDT's for a few months now and it's running great.
Today I installed CM7.2 following the instructions in the thread. I came from stock froyo 2.2.1 and everything worked fine but had some random reboots.
Since I have CM7.2 installed my wifi doesn't work anymore. If I turn it 'on', it doesn't search for available networks. It disables itself after +-30sec. I also noticed I don't have a Mac-adress anymore.
Is it possible that the problem is caused by doing no 'remove caches'. It wasn't in the instructions so I didn't do it. Should doing that fix the problem?
reflashing always works hehe
Tried it and it worked.
Sorry for the useless thread...
I am having this same problem with the newest Aurora ICS, but reflashing didn't fix it.
If you want a stable GB rom forget about the official roms and use any custom GB with .32 kernel. These are the most stable ones. I use ezet's.
i just rooted my defy+ and installing [ROM][GB] Mokee OS Clean Version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2368989 .everything works fine except that i cant connect to mobile data. I post this problem over here because i cant reply in the dev thread.Anyone have any idea what should i do?i already try changing the baseband but i didnt work
isnt mokeeos JB???? i tried 4.22 latest.for data connection worked very well on 3G network, even Wifi with connectify was better then all other builds i ve tried so far.
i uninstalled it today cause it gave me a permanent problem....USBMS not working.i m frustrated now. even going back to 4.2Quarx not helping me. besides that STK also not worked for me.
what a faster rom it is.
