Hi,
I'll hope someone can help me ;-) if a little bit confused with my wallpaper settings.
At first the wallpaper was centered in landscape mode ;-) that was nice to see, but then I installed "Launcher Pro" and the wallpaper was aligned at the top :-( and that looks horrible.
So I did uninstall launcher pro, but this did not restore the wallpaper alignment and it was aligned at the top since this.
I've done a factory reset, but that does not help :-( how can I now set the wallpaper settings to default and make the picture align centered in landscape mode.
Attached two screenshots of the visible frame of the wallpaper in ls-mode, before (1.jpg) and after (2.jpg) my experience.
Many thanks for your help!!!
lol launcher pro = normal resolution, 7 screens.....normal launcher qhd resolution 5 screens =)
thats your probleme.....got it?
okay, but how do I reset this if no uninstall of launcher pro, no reboot and no factory reset helped???

what's wallpaper size for android rom on HD2 ?
Hi i think it is 960x480.
If the File has this size there is no need for scaling by Android.
Send from my [email protected] 2.2
If u want full wvga, its 480x800.
if u want ur wallpaper to span across more than 1 screen, its 960x800
But when I choose Home wallpaper, the picture are still cut, stretch
This was bugging me for the longest time and I've finally found the solution. Only way i've been able to get wallpapers to fit without cropping issues(where android zooms into the cropped section) is to use 960x800, this will however make the wallpaper span across all the screens.
Yes, IMO the best resolution is 980x800, there is an option in Launcher Pro though, if you prefer the screen stay still so the image on your home screen stays static.
Launcher Pro > Appearance Settings > Disable wallpaper scrolling.
Problem is kinda hard to find 980, don't use Google or a bunch of porn pops up when you search for exactly 980x800. There was a forum somewhere here on xda that someone posted like 50+ wallpapers all 980x800, can't remember where it's at though =\
Is there either a way to center a widget that is 4 spaces wide, or set the screen to be only that wide?
I don't wanna screw up the resolution or change the density, but I really want to center this thing.
Thanks guys.

You can use a different home screen such as launcher pro, or adw launcher that will allow you to change the number of columns or resize your widget to 5x4.
Otherwise there is no way with samsung home.

Try out Zeam Launcher it was developed by XDA.
LauncherPro works fine for me.
i use launcher pro with 4 width wide, but using 4x1 or 4x2 widget clock/weather still makes it not centered >.<
anybody knows about clock/weather widget that looks like sense and free that will fit nicely on launcher pro?
I can personally recommend lcd density changer (reqiures root) combined with launcher pro.
I've set the density setting to 180, and configured my launcher pro homescreen to have 6 colums and 10 rows. I looks great and it feels fantastic. Also it takes much better advantage of the 7" screen
edit: I see now that you don't want to "screw up the resolution". But with launcher pro, you can even adjust the size of most widgets. If you press and hold a widget like you are about to move it around, but lift your finger of the screen when the widget "pops out". You can drag the lower right corner that appears, and thereby strech or shrink as you please. Be aware that some widgets look wierd if you push the limit
Set home screen column width to 6, it will be centered then - does on my device no problem?
how to set full screen wallpaper on Galaxy Tab 10.1 ?
i have 1280*800 wallpapers and try... I don't want to crop my wallpaper
i'm already try to search but no answer. Thx.
Go to the Market and download Wallpaper Wizardrii
It will allow you to set an image without having to crop it like the Gallery does.
It will also allow you to set the image as scrollable or static.

i tried wizardii and selecto no scrool but its auto crop my wallpaper (1280*800) i wanna direct set full wallpaper.
try multi picture live wallpaper it handles some wallpapers quite well without having to manually resize/crop them.
i dont live wallpaper. only static wallpaper.
Make your picture 1920x1200 or something like this and not 1280x800 because Android would need bigger picture because of scrolling.

multi picture live wallpaper app handles static pictures also. i am using it to put separate 1280*800 picture for each screen
What they don't tell you
I have looked at this for a little while and still can't seem to get it to work as I would like it to.
I found my wallpapers were cropped while rotating screens.
With the launcher and the wizardii wallpaper I set the landscape wallpaper while the device is in portrait mode and use set Stretch Landscape.
Using a static wallpaper and the scroll off.
It still appears to crop a little but you will have a full screen image in Landscape and portrait modes (like the 5 native wallpapers when you use the default wallpaper settings).
Simple Image Wallpaper Free is all you need. It's in the Google Play store and its awesome. Forget Wallpaper Wizardrii, it's garbage.

Brought this thread back from the dead just to thank you for this recommendation! Downgraded my Note Pro 12.2 to KitKat so I could root, and the cropping wallpaper problem reared its ugly head. Tried all kinds of screwy apps and supposed solutions before finding your recommendation. It's been perfect for a week now, including reboots. Thanks again!
So I'm trying to find out how I can make a wallpaper fit (non-scrollable) portrait style. I'm not sure how to properly word what I'm looking for but I hope these screen captures can help get my point across.
The "want" picture is what I would my wallpaper to be. It fits the screen perfectly without having to crop anything. This works on other android devices but not on stock Android.
The "dont want" picture is what happens when I try to make that picture my wallpaper. It has me crop the pic with the height that I DO NOT want.
Is there a way I can have a wallpaper that will work the way I want it. I don't mind if it doesn't scroll. In fact I prefer it doesn't. Thanks for any help!
install Wallpaper Wizardrii
Yeah, wallpaper wizardrii will do it

image 2 wallpaper, select advanced from the options menu, worked a treat for me
Honestly, I'm not really sure why this has to be so difficult. There seems to be a million different ways to set a scrolling wallpaper.
First let me tell my setup. I'm using Nova Launcher and I force it to remain in landscape mode, so when I'm on my home screen it won't rotate. This should make setting my wallpaper easier. I just need wallpaper for landscape.
I basically want to get a wallpaper that's 5300x1600 and I want it to be DOT-BY-DOT on my background. In theory this wallpaper should never have to be cropped since the resolution is basically 2 nexus 10 screens side by side. The number of pages I have on my homescreen should simply only determine how far the wallpaper shifts each time I move to another page. Less pages means greater shift.
However, no matter how I set the wallpaper, it always seems to crop completely randomly and wrong. For example, the Nova wallpaper setter has a strange cropping indicator (looks like a fat cross) that makes no sense, and the background ends up looking huge (cropped too much) and doesn't shift much when I move to the left and right through screens.
Can anyone help me find the perfect way to setup my scrolling wallpaper? Thanks.
i dont know about scrolling...but you can use simple image wallpaper to use a static image without cropping and it sets it as a live wallpaper even though its not but works perfectly
You may have to use this:

I've had TONS of trouble with using the Gallery to set my wallpaper due to cropping. On the other hand, I THINK QuickPic worked well but its been years since I've used that. Well, A year.

Use nova launcher, edit this wallpaper you got with paint, change the resolution to 2560x1600. Set this wallpaper with nova and it will be DOT-BY-DOT on your background. You can't do it with 5300x1600.
The fat cross is for the landscape preview (the horizontal bar of the cross) and the portrait preview (the vertical one).
I'm using Nova and I look for wallpapers that are around 4000x2000 so that when I crop, it fits around the tablet's resolution without losing quality.
Basically the highlighted portions in the cross will be the background of the primary home screen. It'll shift left and right as you scroll. It's not at all complicated, not even from Gallery. It's quite easy to operate.
