Just did the forst test flash. Kinda cool so far. Still need to have the icons and what not worked out, remove some stuff I missed, add some replacements for stuff I pulled.
But we're getting there. Probably this evening will be a release.

Lol, i wasn't really known much accept for in the development forums. But now I am back and it feels good!

I got those 3 slides all rooted! Wife and kids are loving CM7.
But you were right kinda a pain.
First one took awhile, the other two all set up in a couple hours.

That's great! Once I rooted the first one (huge pain) the next one was pretty easy. Rooting the SGH-T989 was a dream compared to the slide.

The wifi was buggy, but I dug around here and found a fix. Works way better than stock, but with a couple of freeze ups. They are all using go launcher at which I suspect is the issue. In all much better, apps 2sd is a savoir for this phone!

Yeah, to get the wifi to work, I swapped the wifi files with the salsa slide rom.... worked great!

Lol.... wasnt known too much here I guess. I tested and kind of helped icy espresso (now cm9). Not too much did I help.... but now I can. I have more time on my hands and am here to help with whatever I can.

Good.
I believe that anything further than gb for espresso ie, ics won't boot for lack of device tree and source code. Your enthusiasm is much appreciated as I would love for my wife's slide to experience ics but development will be at a stand still until Wes or someone helps with device compatibility.

Yeah.... I was looking around and in the thread and it said that they needed a espresso compatible ics device tree....... I do not know how to do that but I will look for an answer and definately try.......
But right now.... I'll see what I can do... I don't have much time because I am making a rom of my own..... I will still try though

Lol, I just got an email that said they had a business proposal... turned out to be spam about anti-hiv protection..... for some reason it got in my inbox.... it said it was from Daniel Craig. I had been getting many emails recently about my rom and an app I am developing so I thought that it was a potential buissness parnter. I emailed him back because the first message was just a subject that said I have a business proposal, reply to *email address*. Lol he emailed me back a forward and I marked it as spam... have any of you been getting messages like this? He found my xda email address so I'm hopeing that its just a coincidence and people aren't spamming others on xda. I also got one about being a nanny in the UK (other one was also UK) and there was no message, just a 73 character subject line. Has this happened to any of you?!?!? Its not going to spam for me, but check your spam for the email you use for xda.

[ROM] ICS Sense 4.0 aka Alpha Goldfish

Hi community, I have been here on xda for a while, but just reasently got my self the HTC Inspire 4G.
What this is all about though that I will start to build or at least attempt to build the 4.0 Sense ROM for the Inspire and the Desire HD.
Help is always accepted just pm I will try to respond as soon as possible.

That wifi fix was referring to the one he posted for Sense 3.6 ICS. Not this one.

A different sense version wont make it any easier to fix wifi, its still ICS

You're right. ICS is ICS. I PM'd him to collaborate, because I have a port I'm working on, and its fairly close to a TEST release.

Just finishing up getting it past boot, so that anyone willing cam give me a logcat to help. Very close actually.

OK so I just spoke to Rabim, and no, he doesn't have the ROM ready. It wouldn't boot because he's using the wrong kernel, and since there is no kernel for Sense 4, he used the one for AOSP which caused a lot of different issues.
HOWEVER, the guy is new to this, and he just wants to learn as much as he can, so if you're going to flame and write retarded comments about this, please hit yourself in the head with a sharp object first. If you guys have ideas and want to support him, I've messaged andy to move this thread to general section, and there you can share your ideas with Rabim and help him develop the ROM. He's using the recent nexus port of Endeavor.
EDIT: I would offer my help, but I have no time at all atm.

Ok, here we have the OP, who want's to learn & give something to the Desire HD community.
What happens next....
1. The whole community gets behind him/her and provides necessary guidance & advice to achieve the overall goal?
2. Some users take it upon themselves to "nay-say" and just bring the thread down before it's even started?

I'm in the middle of trying to port my FIRST ROM!

If anyone is willing to try it out and help guide me on how to fix any problems, I'd gladly appreciate it!!!!

I'm no dev, but I'll give you a couple of things to watch out for.
Low mic - make some calls. Sckboy78 has a low mike fix he uses on his roms that is probably linked in some of his release threads.
Device name - make sure you change the right line over in the build.prop so that it shows HTC Glacier as the device type in settings. That is covered in Mr. Highway's porting guide, but people tend to miss it.

I'm no recognized developer, but I am very good at porting. Are you porting sense or AOSP? PM me with questions or need a tester.

It's CM7/AOSP based as suggested by another member for a beginner. I used the Android Kitchen and used the official and updated CM7 as the base. That's about it...

I can't test as I'm updating my PrimoS, but from what I can tell, you did everything right by what you said. Good luck! Good work too!

make sure you don't miss the line in the build.prop that gives you the correct signal readings. That's the one that irritates me the most, but idk if you did cause I can't flash atm.

It's actually pretty common to my experience. Zips missed it in a couple of his earlier builds. Basically your signal never changes. Like I'd always have either two bars or full bars (depended on the ROM, never understood why they're different) and I'd know for a fact that it's wrong.

NRGZ Sense Rom

Well here goes gentleman. I'm posting this up at the request of a few other members. One of whom contacted NRGZ to see if he would port one of his Roms over to the Shift. The Rom that he is thinking about porting over to the Shift is on THIS Thread. It is Sense 3.5. I've tried it on the OG EVO 4G , and it is quite nice. So if you want another Dev to possibly work on the Shift. POST UP . The link to the thread will be sent to him, and he'll be checking to see if there is any interest.

Yes yes prboy is correct this ROM Is awesome and runs great on my OG evo and I really hope you guys are as happy with this ROM as I am... Thank you again PR for starting this thread .... And many many thanks too NRGZ28 for his time for porting Thiis over I know the shifters will love it... Give thanks to him he doesn't even hAve Sprint service but is taking his time to keep the shift moving...
