See a lot of chatter in development, and some very confusing and/or contradictory threads. Seems difficult to get answer to a simple question - is root achievable on a retail, 3.1 Galaxy Tab (10")?
honestly coming from someone trying to root one right now the answer at the moment is there is no definitive answer, some see to be rootable and even unlock(ed/able) while others are not.
I think right now the answer is maybe. If you see an unlocked padlock icon when you boot up your tab then it's rootable. Took me all of 1 minute to root mine. Others don't have any padlock icon when they boot up which means their bootloader is locked and they haven't been successful rooting yet.

Yes I'm a noob and no I don't want you to hate me  I've been searching but can't quit find what I want. Can someone point out a link the safest way to unlock my boot loader on 141. I've seen threads but they really don't say for 100% they work on 141.
Thanks!
Do you have the at&t version? If so there is a video somewhere around here that i used where you can see a tutorial of an asian guy.
It says it is for the previous fw version but it also works for the .141 and thats how i unlocked mine

I used this method to unlock the bootloader. What can I do now? Are there any recommended mods? Also, what is this about google roms and aosp?
Mods? help me out here, what rom are you running? I think you are talking roms correct?
So you have loki installed, and you are rooted. Are you wanting to try a custom rom.

okay, i read the noob guide. thanks for the link. What does a ROM do if you install it?
I've done a search and the threads that came up were a bit old and did not provide an answer.
I have a AT&T S4 and looking to sell it and would like to put everything back to stock. Currently when it boots up, you get the unlocked padlock icon on the splash screen. I am looking to get rid of that. Can anyone point me to a method or thread to cover that?
Thank you and sorry if I missed it already listed.
I do not know the answer but I do know that there is a subforum specifically for questions.
That being said, don't you just flash stock firmware with Odin?

If you wish to remove it you have to relock your bootloader otherworldly the warning stays!

yes its very annoying
I have also searched for it,
But i think yet its not possible to remove that
Because same kind of thing is also there in xiaomi phones
Showing unlocked at the bottom
I had the Moto G4 Plus before this. You couldn't shave off the boot time, but it could be flashed over using logo.bin. So, no more warning screen.
To be honest, I don't know if something like this exists for X00TD.

Yes, it's annoying AF, but for our device as of now there is no script or anything we can flash to get rid of it.
Doesn't affect the boot time though.
For going back to stock part - Lol, he was being sarcastic. If you want twrp, you gotta keep bootloader unlocked and bear those stupid warnings during boot.
