First tried walmart, staples and radioshack without success (there's no best buy here). Then I finally got two of them after searching online. The website crashed so I called their 1-800 number and waited on hold for two hours but finally got them lol. They're working on porting Android to them so its a damn good deal for the tablets. Anyone else get them while they're cheap?

I ordered one from bestbuy.com. WebOS sucks for what I might need it for because of the lack of apps and no annotation software. I decided that if they don't have android ported over by the time I get it, it's going on eBay.

actually, b&n is out of stock, they have a buggy inventory system.
visit slickdeals.net, they have a thread for it, and just watch until the next batch of retailers follow suit. newegg still has not dropped, so watch for that. they're a west coast company, so it'll probaboly go live as soon as their workers get back to work.

Fact of the matter is I just bought a Toshiba thrive and this came up so i'm curious about webos ,nice to know that their are other shift owners that have'em. just sayin

Amazon probably got a lot too. It seems you can order from there and it doesn't have it listed out of stock yet. I placed and order there just now. If it ships before my bb order I'll just cancel the bb order.

It's more likely that they were camping all night for the 3DS. They probably don't even know what's the Xoom.
I just checked all the local stores and they are in stock. I think its only online orders. Drop by a bestbuy. I am also in the city.
I expect a total sell out in all stores 20 min. after they open! Most stores are reporting only 10 in stock xooms. I think Amazon got them all. I looked on E Bay this morning and I couldnt believe some are asking over $1000. for a 3G xoom!.
I was worried of a line so i just ordered from BB online and picked store pick up. Just got order ready email. To bad for anyone on a line when i get there and just walk right in to meet my Xoom

Yeah the one by me has them.. But I have to wait now.. When I saw it was backordered I placed an order on amazon and chose 1 day shipping.. When I went back to cancel it so I could do an in store pick up I couldnt Amazon was already prepping to ship it I will have mine on tuesday
Then I'm going to see where I can get in the dev department with it.
Just picked mine up at 10:00 am from Best Buy in Milwaukee WI. I was the first and only one to in at that time to buy one. They had about 8 of them.

Agreed. Any "lines" in front of electronic stores today are for the 3DS, not the Xoom lol.

Welcome aboard fellow oc'r lol. What you could do is sell Evo on Craigslist. Get 180 for it or so. Then repurchase an Evo on Craigslist. Check it for What rom it has first. Look for 2.2.

Lololol yeah I been dealing with same responses about the shift that I wanna get my wife. When I ask if esn is good I get oh yeah and WiFi and you can talk in 4g. Haha. If they're close enough go check out phone before purchasing. Don't take their word for it.

How can you tell if a brand new evo has 2.2 without turning it on?
They take it out of the box and boot it without activating. it's like it never happened.
Also if they came in before june then they don't have gingerbread.

I'm quite sure they've just never updated the description from when it first shipped. It initially was a 2.1 phone. It'll come with 2.2 if you're lucky, but most likely 2.3. Any phone with 2.1 on it would have been sitting on the shelf since the first few months the phone was released, and with the availability issues the phone had in the first several months, there's no way. It's just old copy on the web site.

Sure they could all be 2.3.3 phones but at the same time it is possible they havent had the update. Plus walmarts return policy would allow you to "search" through a few phones to see if you couldnt find one with s-off or no 2.3.3

Same thing happened to me, this must be some sort of scam by Walmart.
So I'm on my third shift in two months and I've had it with this phone. First two had touch screen issues and now the third one when I slide out the keyboard the hinges are like grinding. Last time I spoke with a Sprint rep he told me there was only a certain amount of replacement phones allowed and then they would upgrade me. Will this force me to use my upgrade early? I don't really want to use my upgrade early unless I can upgrade again in 6 months when my original contract is up. I would rather wait for the new motorola slider to come out before using my upgrade. And I don't want to have to pay like $200 yet for a new phone/contract. So what are all of my options, or do you think they'll offer a slight upgrade for free like a evo 3d or something?
Well I left sprint yesterday and was shocked that the only htc device they have is the EVO 4G lte. The evo3d and evo design have both been discontinued and pulled from the shelves... Insurance is your only option for a shift and they are on back order... Not exactly a great situation for a shift owner...

Yeah Sprint knows I'm fed up with all these shifts being on back order and not having a working phone for weeks at a time and then sending me crappy refurbs that only last a week or so. That's why they told me they would upgrade me after two or three replacements even with insurance. I'm almost with drob on leaving Sprint

If you do take it in, and they start giving you ISH. Do what I do, while your still standing there call Sprint. Let them know the situation, and that the CS Rep in the store isn't helping you resolve the issue. What I've found out the GD hard way, is that the people in the store are not even remotely trying to help you. They're usually on direct orders from the Store Manager to basically put you off. Or try and get you to go through insurance. The stores bottom line is their main concern, not you. I've actually had a store Rep tell me there was nothing he could do to help me. Then I tell him I have Sprint on the phone, and they'd like to speak with them. Then all of a sudden the story changes.
I'm still on my first Shifty, but it is finally beginning to have problems. The touch screen is acting very weird. It acts as if my finger is constantly touching the top portion of the screen.
It will open whatever app is up there, if any, and click through every button within the app on that part of the screen. All while I am not even touching the screen. If I try to back out of the screen or hit home it will just do it again over and over, like I'm hitting the same area over and over.
If I smack the phone off the palm of my hand it stops...lol

My current refurb isn't perfect either.
It needs viagra. The slider can't keep it up.
I am switching to metropcs soon because it sadly has both better reception in my area and the bill is lower. Probably switching to a lg connect and try my hand at learning how to make roms etc.

If you can start with kernels. They're a little easier in terms of not having to deal with c++
Plus I think your efforts show more when you have your own custom kernels in the roms.
