Thats because the graphics chip on the x10 isnt that good.
It simply cant produce more fps.

The GPU in the X10 is the Adreno 200 which is part of the first generation Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset that was developed back in 2007/2008.
It can't compare with the Adreno 205 which is part of the second generation Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset that's found in more current smart phones such as the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc, Neo, Play, Pro, Mini/Mini Pro, Ray, and Active.
Mobile devices with the upcoming Adreno 220 and up promise 'performance that is competitive with console gaming systems.'

duh.. compare it to a Desire and Nexus One and it's the same.. Adreno 200 is weak.. unlike Adreno 205 which is 2x better

fps uncap is for 2d only

hd2 graphics vs iphone 3gs? which is better

can someone answer this please?
When the drivers of the HD are sorted, the HTC will be better,
iPhone 3GS, even after the drivers get sorted out on the HD2 (like Pagnell says..)
Well since the HD2 drivers are not yet "sorted" then its not yet possible to rule out the HD2. but if you take into account a larger screen, much higher resolution and faster processor on the HD2 this should give the HD2 the advantage.
Realistically the iPhones wins this one. The CPU is slower, but the GPU is slightly faster, and since the iPhone is a single closed system, apps are able to make full use of it. This just rarely happens on winmo and HTC have messed up the drivers yet again.
However if more games like Electopia appear that could all change.
The HD2 has a much better screen and it has 2.5x as many pixels, but the games and apps are just not there, yet.
If you dont count games then i think Sense is better than the iPhone interface visually and movies look better on the HD2.
he's talking about graphics and not speed. the GPU chipset on the iPhone 3GS is more powerfull than the one in the snapdragon chipset
If you show a fact (a link or something), that will certainly help since we have different opinions here.
if its real that the 3gs has SGX535 gpu then its moore powerful than Z430 that are in snapdragon
While I hate Apple, the GPU in the 3GS is stronger and it is driving a much lower resolution screen.
A little like running a Radeon 5750 driving a 1920x1200 screen (HD2) vs a Radeon 5870 driving an 800x600 screen (3GS). Even at the same res the iPhail would be slightly quicker, at a much lower res the poor HD2 will get slaughtered, and even were that not the case, a Winmo developer will want his game to also run on those horrible MSM7200 528MHz chipsets in like, every HTC in recent memory, so the games won't ever be designed to exploit the Snapdragon.
I want Tegra
An often-quoted list of theoretical specifications:
Nintendo DS: 120,000 triangles/s, 30 M pixels/s
PowerVR MBX-Lite (iPhone 3G): 1 M triangles/s, 100 M pixels/s
Samsung S3C6410 (Omnia II): 4 M triangles/s, 125.6 M pixels/s
ATI Imageon (Qualcomm MSM72xx): 4 M triangles/s, 133 M pixels/s
PowerVR SGX 530 (Palm Pre): 14 M triangles/s, ___ M pixels/s
ATI Imageon Z430 (Toshiba TG01): 22 M triangles/s, 133 M pixels/s
PowerVR SGX 535 (iPhone 3GS): 28 M triangles/s, 400 M pixels/s
Sony PSP: 33 M triangles/s, 664 M pixels/s
PowerVR SGX 540 (TI OMAP4): 35 M triangles/s, 1000 M pixels/s
Nvidia Tegra APX2500 (Zune HD): 40 M triangles/s, 600 M pixels/s
ATI Imageon _ (Qualcomm QSD8672): 80 M triangles/s, >500 M pixels/s

You can see that the Snapdragon GPU (in the Toshiba TG01) has a similar triangle rate to the iPhone 3GS GPU, but the iPhone is capable of pushing three times as many pixels per second.
The iPhone has a smaller, lower-resolution screen, which means the graphics are arguably less sharp, but run correspondingly much faster than the difference in GPU power might suggest.

[Q] 75 FPS score?

I've been watching the preview video @ AndroidCentral I think they have covered the phone quite well.
There Neocore test show a score of 75 FPS - that 20 FPS more than the Samsung SGS/Vibrant.
Since the Samsung SGS/Vibrant comes with a PowerVR SGX 540 chipset (Device Magazine) which is the best out there along with 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor - whereas the Droid Pro comes with a PowerVR SGX 530 chipset (Motorola Developer site) how comes this baby is giving out a much better FPS rate?
Would like to hear your experienced views on this!
If you compare it the D2/D2G, DX, and Milestone 2 you will notice that the DP performance is better that those devices despite the same cpu/gpu combo(but less internal memory). So, from what I am reading most of it has to do with the lower HVGA screen vs the VGA screen of all aforementioned devices. Lower screen res means less work for the gpu.

This makes so much sense for improving battery life and plus what's the point on using such high res screens whereas the human eye can perceive only 200dpi.
Just a thought!
Personally I agree. It really makes me mad that I saw all these rave reviews on the Samsung Galaxy S phone's screens, but me personally I can't tell a difference between my Fascinate and my DPro, other than the fact the screen is smaller.
Maybe its time for me to see the eye doctor.

Samsung Galaxy S2 vs HTC Sensation

HTC Sensation or Galaxy S2?
Torn between these dual core beasts.
Just a very small overview:
HTC:
Screen
Battery
Internal storage (1GB lol)
VGA Front Cam
RAM
Weight. 148 gr. Holy Moly. We should send the phone to fat ca...errr weight management retreat lol
screen resolution: qHD
HTC Sense
Galaxy:
All things HTC has red are better
The thing HTC has green
Easy decision for me.
I think Galaxy S2 is better.... at least in Korea.rep

@OP, C'mon there are tons of threads to talk about this comparison use the damn search button !!
Sense vs TouchWiz if a slapped on interface matters, sense is lovely! Hardware wise SG2 wins.

both are good phones and you cant go wrong with any. however. i believe the GS2 is better specd hardware. better GPU. better screen in terms of colors. there is no even lag in scrolling at the browser.
the only advantage you will have with the HTC if you call it an advantage is the HTC S 3.0 and i wouldnt call it an advantage.
besides. and the most important factor you need to consider. the HTC now is using a Locked bootloader. meaning you wont get custom roms for sure. and considering how the incredible S is been locked for 3 months now without any luck to open it. i would say avoid HTC phones for now
i will not even buy the HTC for 100$. locked bootloader = useless phone for me.
i learned that the hard way from the atrix. and never again.
Having a lower weight does not necessarily mean 'better'. I think build quality in terms of materials (partial reason of the higher weight) is another plus for the Sensation. On the other hand, I prefer the dimensions and shape of the S2.
Furthermore the Sensation's camera has an instant capture feature but the S2 cam has a pretty fast capture too.
Looking at all the + and - I think the S2 is the overall winner.

Very true, imagine when the sgs2 gets cm7 or darky rom!
It's blazing fast on stock!

I wouldn't want to put CM7 on that as the browser would loose any GPU acceleration and be as crappy as other dual core phone, I'll take it as it is with all the optimization from samsung included for performance and battery life

We don't know that yet, so far the benchmarks indicate that the Adreno 220 GPU inside is quicker than the Mali-400 in the Samsung, I still find it hard to believe considering the mali-400 is quad core, so maybe the benchmark is not up to date with quad-core graphics processor's.

what ???? isnt adreno 220 GPU is the same was used in Desire HD and Xperia Play ?
if so, thats more reason to avoid the Sensation. because that GPU is lower than the Nexus S GPU. let alone come close to SG2. that thing will do marathon around the Adreno 220 and that is based both trying to run Nintendo 64 Emulator at the same time same game.
hell i just hope you made a typo and you are not talking about that old horrible GPU :/

Is this thread still going on, frankly there is no competition with the SGS2, here's a brief summary:
The Galaxy S2 is out May 1st (phones4u will release on 27 Apr), it will be the king of superphones for a while yet: Most powerfull 1.2 Dual core CPU/GPU combo (yes much better than HTC Sensation), Thinnest phone in the world (8.49mm compared to the Sony Arc 8.7mm and Iphone 4 (around 9.2mm i believe), Best screen tech in the world (exclusive to Samsung - Super Amoled Plus) see below:

Just want to say : HTC Sensation also has Gorilla Glass. And NFC is not yet confirmed on all models :/...
And also
PS : I Didn't add the SoC though the Mali-400(Galaxy S2) probably is going to be a better GPU, but we can't verify for now. And Bootloader is probably not locked on Galaxy S2 but for the HTC Sensation it is quite sure.

You cannot compare the number of cores on a GPU unless it is the same architecture, it doesn't make sense at all.
A single core GPU can easily be ten times faster than quad core GPU. It is just how they choose to arrange the GPU-architecture in order to have versions with different speeds.
In fact, even a 300$ gaming card for PC's is single core.

Dude what matters you, the benchmarks or the performance?
Performance yeah.. So why care for benchmarks?
What you get from the numbers?? Nothing.. So let them go to heck.!!
What benchmark do you get with Xperia sp? Bwt I will give more with my N4..
Why on earth do you buy phone base on benchmark score?
You can search for benchmark results of both devices on Google.

My dear friend, who said you that xperia sp is an underdog in terms of specs.
For your knowledge, xperia sp shares the same qualcomm chipset as nexus has(the snapdragon s4 pro), but with a different model designed for dual core cpu's(msm 8960T) than the nexus quad core designed(apq 8064), it has the very same adreno 320 gpu, but has half the ram nexus has.
The reason for xperia sp scoring way over nexus is because of its low resolution 720p screen rather than 1080p, so it has to process less pixels, hence less workload, and more benchmarks and performance,
But i agree in real life, nexus 4 has a better performance, due to its 2 gigs of ram which is awesome for multitasking, but that doesn't mean xperia sp is an "underdog"
Moreover, with usb otg, expandable storage, and the transparent illumination bar, xperia sp score much better overall in my perspective,
