Multitouch is avaiable for our galaxy spica but why not for our gt 540? in this video a mod that calculates the coordinates for all applications. Incredible!

The spica uses a capacitive screen that is capable with multitouch, the GT540 has a resistive screen, which is incapable of full multitouch.

One point
Resistives can only detect one point and it mostly dependent on pressure (so it can work on anything solid). Capacitive work only with living objects and specialized styluses.

thank you but if a program calculates two points?

Not all resistives have one point you know, anyways there will never be a practical multitouch on the gt540 just get an optimus one it's like £15 more expensive then the gt540 on ebay.

Arent the Optimus and Swift the same models? Just different brand name for the region they've been released for?

Optimus One.

GT540 (aka Swift, Optimus and so on....)
Now Optimus One have a multi touch screen, more inside memory and 2.3 available via default software upgrade tool.

I have both and the O1 is much better its worth the extra cash just for the ram tbh, it runs much smoother and the is a larger development base for the O1

The 'Optimus' is the line of Android smartphones from LG (except from the Ally on Verizon in the US) but the 'swift' if the codename of the GT540. Like 'Star' is the codename of the Optimus 2X.

Resistive multitouch
http://www.gsmarena.com/multitouch_coming_to_for_nokia_5800_xpressmusic_sort_of-news-872.php
A developer is testing out multitouch with a game.
This phone has has a RESISTIVE touch screen. Could this same software be used in Android?
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XndW7YlvYjU&feature=player_embedded

It requires a lot of programming and hex vales in order for dual touch to function properly.

From what it looks like, it will be based on a new arm cpu, which is not compatible with msm7227, so it will be very difficult to port its os to mini/x8 phones.
The only thing I'm waiting for is that tasty four corner launcher. Mmmmmmm...

Yeah, me too, but if it will be like the old one, with one widget per homescreen, it's just as pointless as the old version... Besides, want folders? Use GO launcher

GO launcher is laggy and drains battery fast, also app drawer isn't transparent anymore.
****!
Do you think that it could be an update for x8?

If you had any doubts on Samsung developing the next Nexus phone, this should be an official confirmation. UAProf of GT-I9250 aka Nexus Prime has been listed on Samsung Mobile’s site. Apart from the name, the profile listing also claims the screen resolution to be WVGA (800×480) . However, previous rumors have suggested Nexus Prime to have an HD resolution display.
Nexus Prime will be the first device to run Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich OS and feature Bluetooth 3.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n amongst other things.

I would somewhat assume the screen to be on par with the Charge. That's seems too new for them to be jumping ship to a newer screen technology. The original AMOLED soldiered on for nearly 2 years.

Yeah, if that's the actual screen resolution, I'm a bit disappointed. I've read that Samsung may have, in fact, purposely falsified this information in anticipation of it getting out to the public. Similar to what HTC does...
800x480 just doesn't cut it anymore!
Err, 1x1 ratio?

This phone got a 4.3 inch screen
And it runs Gingerbread
It just cost 150 pounds, thats just 50 more pounds than the X8
and it is going to be available worldwide sim unlocked
but the processor is not dual core
and its not in xda forums
What‘s type of this phone?I think it is worthwhile .
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xperia_mini-3947.php
i think this would be better 2.3 and a 1GHz processor
the answer on your question depends on one thing: wheter a cpu is armv7 or armv6, if it's armv7 i'd say go and get it, but if it's not, then i wouldn't recommend it. does someone have any information about that? some accurate specification... i saw different opinions about that on forums. if it is armv7 i would also consider chosing it as my next replacement for x8.
Cheap case
Slow processor
Pointless pre-installed apps
Weak battery
I'd prefer a phone which is officially supported by CM

and it got so much ram
Don't buy any chinese made phones !
Quality sucks !
I guarantee !
Go for the known brands
Such as SE .. Samsung .. HTC .. Motorolla
And so ON..
Do NEVER buy any chinese phone !
ZTE Skate? I don't think so, that it's good replacement
Its still ARMv6 is it? I won't suggest you to buy it. Because one time later you will regret buying it. No flash player, unable to high quality games, bla3.
I guess it is ARM v6.
Why, because if i am not wrong, i saw a post that, ARM v7 is minimum 1ghz above.

Tbh, that's not bad! It's just a shame there's no mention of other details, like how much storage there is and if it does support SDHC-cards. One can also see what looks like S-Pen, but I do not know if it's just for the looks or if it is actually functional.
I know several people who could actually use this phone just fine.
I can't even imagine how much of a headache it would be going phone shopping in China. We should all have that problem.
the samesung fauxlaxy clnotned?
Samesung, Nukia, and Motorolo.
Salute China.

Edit: Upon closer inspection, the first picture in the link does NOT have an S-Pen. The third seems to show one. Either way... no thanks.
Also, the flash is different between the first picture and the third... If it's more like the third then I want that back-piece!
yes, but there are two different versions, one is 5.3 the other is 5.0
