i just done with rooted my wildfire today, so all i want to know is kernel..
1st Q: what is kernel and what does this things do?
2nd Q: after i rooting my wildfire with CM7 i found out there is a problems(lil probs i think), my wildfire cant be switch off..any advice will be more appreciate

once u built the rom, take .zip file and flash with xRecovery ..
So if we build a custom froyo rom... Can we still flash it using xrecovery?

OK just a quick one i have put jokerdroid rom dk and cm7 on my buzz but the wife don't like them you know what they are like she wont to keep the sense rom she as, but wonts it to be faster so my question is can i just flash a kernel with overclocking to here phone to over clock the ota sense she has (she is s-off and root on the phone)

The 1st one in the list is a good choice. (nFinity by arco, modified by the OP for Sense based ROMs)

Recently got my desire z after my late desire hd died on me, I didnt install any custom roms on the desire hd because i couldnt figure out how to s-off or how to downgrade, and when i got my desire z i found that its exactly the same and am in need of some asistance because i cant stand the stock rom its not for me. Does anyone know of a noob guide to downgrade, root and then to install a custom rom, any help would be appreciated thanks

Hello developers.
Can someone help me? I am 14 yrs and I am a newbie to rooting, hacking, etc.
I have rooted my stock Motorola Defy MB525 and now I want to install ICS or JB to my phone.
I am scared as I wont get another device if I brick this device but I want some updated os on my phone badly
I have not used any apps that use root access as I am pretty much scared that my phone could get bricked.

I have never had much knowledge about Clockworkmod recovery and the guide is kind of complicated. Thanks for your help!

i figured out that i can actually flash sbf files if i messed up. so now my phone is running ics.
im running cm9 ics 4.0.4 on my defy but its really laggy. i use setvsel running at 1.2 GHz but no avail.

Hello all. Can someone help me overclock my device to 900mhz or 1ghz??? I always get my phone soft bricked when installing "Overclock.zip" files via CWM.
Yes i know about merruk kernels (but i don't wanna use them since they have bugs). I am on Hyperion 8 rom (thanks to its dev, loving it very much) but i want to overclock my device to greater extent in order to enhance my gaming experience...
I know the disadvantages of overclocking but let me try it once Any advise or help wud be greatly appreciated .....

There is no way of overclocking without changing kernal. The things like tat u get pn third party websites are fake. Plz do not try them they may harm ur device.
There are two ways to overclock to 1.2ghz.
Firstly merruk's kernal and secondly eve rom.
Merruk kernal has some bugs but eve rom with its own kernal woks flawlessly. I have used it myself without any bugs but warning do not try eve kernal on other roms. Then it will have serious stability issues.
