I did it w/o success, extracted from jvq, putted into /system/app, but after that daily briefing force closes. I really don't know how to make it to work.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
because you used jvq
i stated clearly take files from official one - that is jvr for swisscom and it will work - must work

I was thinking the same, but when I extrected that swisscom rom, I couldn't find infoalarm.apk. In factoryfs.rfs/app folder..
Edit:
Infoalarm.apk is in cache.rfs. But putting it into system/app didn't solve the problem. it's not visible , looks like theres no that apk in system at all

dose any body no if theres any way to install the swisscom jvr but use the csc from jvq would it work and have daily briefing
I've been trying to install the application infoalarm but no luck so far, first install jvr for Swisscom to get the app ,if anyone wants to try here it is:
View attachment 694490
I will returnto install jvr swc rom the only difference is the image in the boot
I found solution. Extract infoalarm.apk AND infoalarm.odex. from swisscom rom
Put this 2 files into /system/app using root explorer and reboot phone.
putting only apk didn't work for me, but with odex file works well
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
why would you want to copy over only apk without odex ?
Anyone wanna share swisscom daily briefing?.. very appreciate..
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
Edit: posting something wrong.... The InfoAlarm.apk and InfoAlarm.odex are already there in the system/app folder in the JVR version. For some reason, it's not running by default.
Shame on me, just using JVR + root kernel for one day.
if youve got stock leaked by darky jvr infoalarm will be there but will not work
as it is copied from jvq csc file - you need to copy it from swisscom csc file, both apk and odex files

Summary:
Hey guys I'm working on a project to port the touchwiz framework to other devices using an update.zip to get running some touchwiz apps like music player on our phones.
So what I need is the system dump, or better if someone could upload the 2.2 update /framework/; and if you can /app and /bin folders to any good uploading service(FTP/stashbox/multiupload/dropbox, you get it).
I'd really apperciate that! Thanks!
bump for interest.
Please reupload if you can!

Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Well wow, first of all I REALLY appreciate your help, second I have no idea how you do that... You have to somehow access the system folder.
You can try:
Connect the phone to pc via RECOVERY (you need root AFAIK) and copy whole system(not sd card!) and upload it.
Try to copy whole ./framework and ./app folder from system to sd card, using a file manager like... androzip.
Use KIES/nandroid to backup and upload your backup(no worries won't read your personal data ). Though dunno if we could use it... or how...
You can try google it!
Really thanks!
EDIT:
btw what android version is your dad's galaxy using? It's very important info! Thanks.
hehe, you want to port touchwiz ... a lot of us are trying to get rid of it
but i guess there are some apps that are really good (movie-player, cam-app, calculator, ...)
i will pull the system folder from my JPC firmware an send you a pm containing the download link shortly (will host it myself and i don't want to have a lot of downloads ...)
I love you.
BTW, why don't you just download firmware package of your choice and extract the files you need from that?
My dad's GS is on stock 2.1.. Think i need to root it first...

They are modified, if not the framework is missing, if it'd be there it would be modified. Can't use. Also there is no custom 2.2 f/w as far I searching, and the original is not in zip format.

How extract a .rfs file from an firmware release:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=751827
/system can be found in factoryfs.rfs that is in CODE*.tar and a CODE*.tar is in almost every firmware release.
Thanks

Dany0,
http://db.tt/u8Hwlue contains the de-odexed framework files and system apps files. Note that a number of apks had been deleted from stock, but still the twlauncher is still there.
Hope this help, and good luck to your porting.
hi i want to port these
just a thing to ask
are the system apps deodexed or is it just the framework that has been deodexed

as far as i understand it stock firmwares are never deodexed. but why don't you just look into /system/app/. if there are any *.odex files around you know for sure that it's not deodexed
I just flashed the stock dk17 beta rom and I noticed that the new beach live wallpaper is not present. I saw that it was included in the older dj29 rom. How can I get that live wallpaper? I really want that?? Could someone save that apk and upload it possibly?

Save it for when you get froyo,Its a nice live wallpaper and it was in Dj29 build
but not in DK17 .I dont know if its going to be in the official release. But i also liked it..
I tried installing it directly into the ROM itself and then reinstalled the ROM, and while it worked and is on my list of wallpapers, it still FC's. Oh well.
It works for me just fine. I downloaded the apk and installed it and that was it.
Are you running any special ROM or kernal? Maybe I'll just downloaded one of the leaked Froyo's, open it w/ 7zip and see if I have better luck extracting the .apk directly from the ROM itself. I'll keep you guys posted.

Sorry, I'm on 2.2
It only works on 2.2
How can I install it on nebula rom? Its needed to run some process and was removed on it.
Thanks

pull the apk out of another rom. It should be in either /data/apps or /system/apps. You can use something like Astro or ES file manager to "open" the apk and install it to your phone.
Ok thanks. Ill try.

It work using sdx app rev. Tried to do manual don't work.
What is sdx app rev? I pulled the file from a ROM, and copied it onto my sdcard, but wont install into the phone.

You need to push it to /system/app/ with adb or via terminal on the phone.
If the rom is deodexed, and I want to pull an app from a non deodexed rom, how can I do?
Thanks

If the rom is deodexed you need to pull the file from a deodexed rom.
Pull the files out of another rom. They are just zip files.
Yes, but the app that I want is the stock notes app. And I think that Im not going to find a deoxed rom with that app. And I cant find it in market.

This is a zip that contains a deodexed version of every stock ec05 app.
Its a flashable zip, but I'm not sure what else is in there, so just take what you want/need, and drop in system/app

It's work fine, thanks. But can you change the lock screen to froyoMod 2.8 or Gingerbread.
I will look into it.

But one problem, When I install this them, it delete Arabic language in phone setting. Please help me to fix it, I like this them.
Thats because it uses the APAC framework files. I will create one for the Arabic rom, but you have to test it for me as i do not have my milestone.
What is the name of the arabic sbf file? Is it available on and-devopers?

this is it : h t t p://w w w.multiupload. com/J703KQV3IY

as a service version
Arabia SHOLS_U2_05.27.2 900 / 2100 Vulnerable Recovery
is flashed via SBF Rare display serial interface errors.
Ok. I'll will get it done in a day and post it here. Thanks for the link.
Here is the GB theme using files from the Arabic sbf. Please note that i have not tested it, so let me know if you find any issues.

I flash it and works fin, thanks sileshn.
I have other question??
When i flash Ginger keyboard from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12366159&postcount=846 and select English and Arabic language for this keyboard, but when i change to Arabic, it's not change letters to Arabic.
I'm searching a way for resolving this problem.
Can you help???????
That keyboard does not have arabic language support.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
i encourage u to install CyanogenMOD for Milestone RC10
it has full Arabic support for the keyboard and the interface
better performance .... it is times better than the original motorola
the only thing u loose is writing Arabic using the hardware keyboard as this is not implemented yet
motorola is not going to release any updates for the milestone so this would be the next UPGRADE if you need the latest Android on your Milestone, As long as Kabaldan keeps updating it
link: h t t p://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941346
Is there a way to extract the keyboard Cyanogen MOD ROM for Milestone original ROM 2.2.1 with Arabic language support......????
LatinIME.apk and its corresponding libjni_latinime.so file will be required. The app is in the /system/app folder while the other file is in the /system/lib folder.
You can use the flashable zip from the earlier post you gave me. Just replace the files with the ones from CM7.

I noticed that few of the earlier CM7 nightlies enabled FFC. Around about #7-8. Then it was permanently disabled since RC1. Probably much much earlier than that. If I wanted to try, which Camera files from the earlier nightlies would I bring over to the latest builds for FFC to work? Thanks
just go into the galaxy s (international version) of CM7 and pull all the camera lib files.
navigate into the root ->system ->lib
you are looking for the following files:
libcameraservice.so
libcamerafirmwarejni.so
libcamera_client.so
libcamera.so
or u can just go dl my rom CM7 - Tron Edition, it is native with FFC support (since i have an ffc! and love it!)
hope this helps!!!

i figured it out.
i downloaded the original i9000 cm7 rom and extracted the 4 camera files
then every time i update my nightly rom i just copy those 4 files into the system/lib/ folder of the zip file using astro file manager.
then i flash using cwm in recovery
