Yegads, my apologies. I was in a rush, saw "Meijer" and $531, and jumped to conclusions. Thanks for the clarification (and patience) and I'll check it out.
Looks like they pulled it from the website, as a search for Xoom shows "We couldn't find any results for xoom, but we found 958 matches for room."
Yeah sold out...
No results for "motorola xoom". Or did you mean material zoom?
I just wanted to post this information and link so people are clear about the A500's specifications, in case there are any questions. It's silly that Acer doesn't include this somewhere on their product information page - it's buried in their support documents for now.
Hope you find it useful.

The Iconia referred to on Corning's website is the dual screen laptop that was released recently, not the Tab.
Also, a couple of reviews stated that the A500 has DDR3 memory, not DDR2. Weird.

Did you hit the link? According to Corning it's the Iconia Tab A500. But as I mentioned, it could be wrong.
I never quote reviews as fact because 9/10 times they get a spec or 2 incorrect.
The question I have is that the model I bought from Best Buy says it is the A501 and the SKU says 3G... Is this just a mistake in the softwae version or could I be lucky and the 3G modem is there and I'm just missing the proper kernel and source to activate it?

Check the box itself for the actual model number. My software version says A500-501 and 3G as well, I think that's because the same software is going on both models, thus us Wifi only model's seeing Cell Standby in the software.
If the box says Model A501 however, then you may be lucky though I have no idea how or who you'd activate it with since the Iconia A501 hasn't been released to any carrier afaik. ATT is supposed to get them this summer from what I remember reading.
L Sensor
what is L sensor mentioned in the spec ?

can someone please settle the debate whether the a500 has ddr-2 or ddr-3?

Tegra-2 doesn't support DDR3, so there's no debate!

Hi,
I'm thinking of getting myself a transformer(tf101) but I'm having doubts and need some convincing. It's going to be my first tablet and I want to do it right. Why should i get this one and not something else?
Thanks!
Well:
Price/Quality unbeatable!!
Great support
Custom Rom's
Overclock
MicroSDcard
Good wireless range
I found this one on a spanish site. This one is about 100€ cheeper than the transformer:
http://www.nvsbl.es/webcontent-v2/en/nvsbl-tablets/33-nvsbl-p4d-sirius.html
specs are the ff:
Headphone Jack stereo
Battery Size 6400 mAh
Operating System Android 2.3 (Android 4.0 Updatable)
Sensor-G YES
SD Slot 1 x MicroSD
Depth 12mm
Weight 550g
Screen 10.1" Advanced Capacitive 10 points Touch Pannel
Memory 1Gb
Remote Included NO
HDMI 1 x micro HDMI
CPU CPU TEGRA 2 - 1Ghz
Rear Camera 3 Mpx
Front face camera 1.3 Mpx
Bluetooth YES
Width 255mm
Height 174mm
Internal Storage 8GB
USB 1 x mini USB 2.0
WIFI 802.11 B/G/N
Its all about the screen for me. I had a cheaper tablet before my TF and spec wise it was very similar but it had a lower resolution lcd screen which had poor viewing angles and hd video playback was very poor. As always you get what you pay for and after using my TF with its high resolution ips screen i woud have to think very hard before changing it for another.

The unique characteristics of the Transformer is the keyboard. If that is what you need the TF is for you. Other tabs are lighter, Samsung, and have better apps, ipad, but none are better at tasks that require a keyboard.

For me battery usage, keyboard dock and build quality was important.
Why anyone should get a ASUS Transformer over a regular Android tablet:
1. It has long battery life.
2. It has a keyboard dock with USB ports and a second battery.
3. It will get a decent build of ICS.
Why anyone should get a TF101 over a TF201:
1. It has stronger WiFi.
2. It has stronger GPS.
3. It has a better sound output system.
I would also argue that it has a much better screen and auto brightness capability than the TF201/Prime does.
