So... every phone I've had on android likes to play around with my 3g.. I get to a loading screen and it never connects to data until I press back and retry it.. again this is every phone I've had... is this normal?

This happens to me all the time in the XDA app. But nowhere else. Even on WiFi sometimes.

Its most likely the apps that you are using not ur 3g. Happens to me with xda, Facebook, and engadget apps to name a few. How often does it happen?

Are you in a bad signal area? I think if it affected all android users more people would have a similar experience. I've noticed that happen in the XDA app, it seems to be better on MIUI than CM7 though, I don't know why.
i have never had this happen. i have only had owned the Dinc, with verizon, have had it since feb 2011. my wife has same phone purchased at the same time, as far as i know she does not have that issue either.
she did however have the problem of not getting text and phone calls.
i was however able to figure out the problem, after spending several hours with techs and a new phone, nothing helped. i had asked a tech at the begining if changing the phone number would help and they of course shot that down, well after the new phone and hours of reseting and trying this and that, i finaly tallk my wife into changing her number, even though it was poo pooed by the tech. guess what! fixed the problem imidiately, have not had that problem since.
sorry i know there are other threads, abourt this subject, but never realy got to tell what happen.

So both my Girlfriend and I have the vibrant, mine is rooted, hers isn't. Mainly having problems with her phone. Sometimes it will vibrate, but not ring. Ring and not answer (can't do anything on the screen). Get stuck vibrating and showing an incoming call but can't do anything and have to restart. Sometimes people say she sounds like a robot or like she is talking from across the room, in a cave or under water. I haven't had these problems with mine but once I was told I sound electronic. She had called support and they said to take out the battery for a but and if that didn't fix it to do a factory reset. I have already done that once on my phone so I could have all my calendars load, and not looking forward to doing it again. Anyone have any thoughts or have heard about problems such as these?

Honestly, if a factory reset doesn't solve your problem on a non rooted phone, then I suggest getting an exchange at the t mobile store. The problems you're encountering does not seem normal.

I've been having this issue too. Is it a problem on spirnt's end or a manufacturer hardware/software issue?
Best is when texts arrive out of sequence and delayed.
I hope most people realize texts are not as reliable as email, especially when sent between different providers.
No problems here but I did have this issue all the time with Alltell before AT&T bought em
Yeah, I get this problem quite often between my wife and me. It seems to be random when it happens. I'm thinking it's a Sprint issue, not hardware or software.
just stopped in to flame for your use of "convo" lol. I personally hate having a text conversation, that's why I have a phone. I try to keep texts short and sweet.

Happening to me as well. Texted my wife "Stopping for dinner - do you want anything?". Got her reply after I walked in the door - with food only for me!

ahaha that must have went well...
A phone call will "normally" fix it. Sometimes it wont even make a call while this is happening.
Instant messaging seems to be the only way, other than a phone call, to ensure messages get through. And avoid pissed off wives/girlfriends.
I know, I am starting to rely on using google chat/trillian to get my message thru to the wife friends and all. I like the one about getting food for himself, that happened to me the other day and I was a unhappy camper sharing with the wife. But the thing is phone conversations i hate cause of akward silence. Texts is just straight to the point and easy to hide. hahaha
Look on the bright side.. You get free mobile-mobile. It takes 20 seconds to ask the question and receive an answer vs sending a text, waiting for it to be received and acknowledged.
This has to be one of those generation gap things. For years I hated texts and texting, still do. However it is beneficial to non time critical events.

I don't know if im clients or google voice would eat up more battery. I used to go the gv route since that goes through the internet and not sms with the carrier. Of course it helps if the other side had gv too.

Recently, I added my buddy to my family account and had his evo set up just like he said he saw mine as. During the course of about an hour or two of rooting, flashing, and downloading; I started getting the same text message he sent me from the parking lot to ask what I needed from Wendy's, and so far I've received it 38 times TODAY.
I thought this was his doing because of some odd setting I must have set, or a wrong sequence of flashing... perhaps forgetting to wipe a cache at a particular time?
The problem is, I also got a text from my girlfriend, and although not as bad, I've been getting the same one about a dozen times. She's on USCC.
Has anyone else been experiencing this? I've become paranoid to the point to where I've flashed cm7, and wiped all data without a restore, but I still get the same problem. Anything I could do?
Thank you in advance for your time, all feedback is appreciated.

Had the same issue. The problem starts with the airave. Unplug it, then call sprint, tier two support. They flush something and it goes away.
I've have mine unplugged now, since it was the root of the problem. I would rather roam then go thru sms hell again.

experienced repeated sms messages last night at home as well. unplugged the airave and the issue stopped... i also got flooded with what seemed to be backed up sms messages as well.
same problem and have the airave.
lol luckily i have never been the recipient of this, but i sure feel sorry for my friends... haha. Happened quite a few times.
its not the air rave, i have it but i received my duplicated txt's when i wasn't near it. try 30 something miles away from it.
i called in and im waiting on an engineer to call me back in an hour
AHA! Same thing happened to me last night. My dad kept sending me "Yanks and Sox are playing on channel 1127." I called him up bragging that there was something wrong with his recently purchased iPhone 4. Turns out it was me.
I had the same thing happen when i was with verizon unfortunately, seems sprint isn't the only one.

Maybe I am just too picky, but when I buy something I expect the damned thing to work. I am near ready to just say give me a different phone. I am tired of it not working.
For the record though, I love my Atrix. The only accessory I do not own so far is the lap top dock which I just can't justify the cost yet when I have so many other computers already.
Squeaky wheel gets the grease though I guess.
Did you get each of them from the same location? Did you record the serial numbers by chance.
Some people seem to be having quite a lot of trouble while others are not, so maybe there is a bad batch out there. It would be nice to be able to identify it.

Wow, I must be really lucky because mine has been absolutely flawless. The microphone is on the weaker side, but that seems to be a characteristic of this model.

I am just as lucky as you are. 3 Phones later:
#1: Flawless, fast, perfect, no lag no glitch no hangup. Purchased the day the phone came out. 1 Month and 2 weeks later...I went to check a text message and it never turned on again (tried everything). I miss that perfect phone, it was too perfect it probably killed itself.
#2: They sent me a used/refurbished/barely touched phone...I don't care what you call it. It would glitch and randomly restart a lot, the LED notification would blink when I had no messages, emails, etc. The unlock slider would move and freeze for a few long seconds before unlocking the phone.
#3: I am currently using this phone. It works well enough for me not to send it back for yet ANOTHER used/refurbished/barely touched phone. The camera app likes to not work when I need it the most and my LED light app does the same thing, it likes to disappear or not work. I re-installed these apps but same thing. Its probably just Android. The phone, while fast, does not seem as fast as my 1st phone. It has its hangups and issues but not enough for me to bother. Hopefully not a hardware issue.
And I am 90% positive that if I need a 4th phone, even after the first 3, they still will not just give me a new one.
Dear community,
Recently I found a Samsung Galaxy S5 on a football pitch, while playing. I'm living in the middle of nowhere, so i decided to wait for somebody to call it. There were no contacts or something like that, only 2 pictures of some strange stuff:laugh: Now I've waited for 2 weeks, and nobody has called the phone or anything. Now I decided to keep the phone. I factory resetted the phone and deleted all data and cache, it's completely empty now. My question is, can the phone be tracked by using findmyphone even though I've resetted it, or do I have to install a new Rom on it?
Sorry for my English btw
Cheers

At this point I don't think phone can be trackable, if you waited for 2 weeks that was enough time for them to tracking it down if phone was set up for some kind of tracking app. Have you checked the ESN/IMEI? may be reported as lost now
Would be interesting what strange stuff was on the pictures. Was the phone part of a crime? Were it nude photos?
We will never know because you just deleted everything.
Depending on what was on the phone I would have brought it to the police or to a shop of the carrier used (if found with sim card). They could have found the owner within minutes or at least a few hours.
Despite that every phone has a so called IMEI number which can be tracked down independent from the sim used. You can change that number if you know how but there is a high risk of hard bricking the phone. And in fact I hope you hard brick it because you just deleted someones phone without trying to find the owner.
Have a nice day.

So you're trying to prevent the real owner of the phone from tracking/finding his own phone?
Guys, it's been 2 weeks since he found the phone, he said he didn't get any calls, is not like he found the phone this morning and couple hours later he did a reset. If he is telling the truth

2 weeks don't make a difference. This is not right. He could still try to find the owner. And at least not try to prevent being tracked. Too sad that you support such behaviour.

Yeah... if the owner wanted his phone back, why didn't he look for it? 2 weeks not even a call!
Depending on where you live like in UK the network could sim block it if the owner decided to by calling their provider meaning it couldn't work on any network, so if you ever decide to sell it just remember there's always that risk.
I smell some fishy fishy business. How plausible is it for OP to find a phone with no contact/log/message list whatsoever?
I mean, not even a single text message?
Then OP would like to modify the phone to prevent it from ever being recovered. Sorry buddy, you won't find assistance here.
Classic symptoms of a "I illegitimately acquired a phone, and do not wish to return it!"
The phone is trackable through IMEI. Your local telecom commission has the power to block usage from the phone rendering it useless to you.
Well, if it has a Sim card in it, it should display what carrier network it's on...take it to them or the police. Doesn't sound like you tried very hard to find the owner or you stole it.

two weeks....Two months or 2 years won't matter...he isn't the real owner of the phone...and trying to blocking it from being tracked by original owner is the part that I have a beef with....He needs to turn it in tot he local police station and they will decide to give it back to him after a while that it's been unclaimed. He doesn't have the legal or moral authority to decide when he's gonna magically turn into the owner of the phone.

Yeah... because in the real world you find a phone and you waste time and effort to try to find the owner, when the owner doesn't even care.
Around 80% of my contacts doesn't memorize their own number, moreso memorize other people's number which are already saved in their contact list. If he doesn't make a backup (gmail or not) he won't have any way to contact his own number. He can probably return the phone and sim to the carrier and they will contact the owner.
I'm saying that there is no real effort on his side and he clearly has intention not to return he phone. If there's a will, there's a way.
Report it as found at the local police and at the provider and wait if the owner will claim it.
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I have to agree... doesnt matter how long its been. It matters what you've done to find the owner. The most obvious thing would be to get the number/carrier off the phone and take it to one of their stores as they can easily look up the number and know who it belongs to
