Hi Guys
Just a test if it works and would like your feedback
Those on the new XXKH1 firmware could you try this if possible
Menu>settings>power saving> and click on system power saving and/or use power saving mode
and see if it increases your battery life as opposed to not using them.
I just wanna find out if it works..
EDIT : Also wanna find out if there is any relation with AOS BUG and Running services
UPDATE: 8 Hours sleep time screen shots
Android Usage in 8 hours night time almost 20% drain

Running services in 8 hours Night time
last img only count email and samsung keypad rest is same as screenshot 4
Do you guys see any pattern in this? with regards to AOS bug and the Battery DRAIN?
Wonder if its anything to do with the running processes?
Also clicking the system power saving makes my phone lag
will update later with full usage
Do you think it works differently than on earlier ROMs?
Yrs, there's now 2 power saving options - system and custom. System is new

I dislike how there is a notification on the top. Should be an option to remove it. Then I would consider using it. =__="

Same for me, I hate things sitting in my notification bar needlessly.
That's what killed it for me as well first time I turned it on months ago. So the new option shows notification as well?

Ok updated some screen shots of 8 hours sleep time while doing nothing on the phone lets see how the day goes
but it sure lags my phone
Sat in work with the new firmware on and this power thing turned on, it is laggy as hell so i wouldnt use the phone in this mode, but while i am working and have my phone on my desk i thought id give it a test.
i dont have any apps on as it was a clean instal i also dont have any accounts set up for emails ect and have noticed every now and again my screen is lighting up, noticed it twice in the last half hour for what reason i have no idea.
System Power Saving:
-underclocked cpu
-lower brightness
-laggy phone
Let's of is really DOES improve battery live...

Ok I have come to the conclusion :
That it dosen't really make much difference to battery life on a whole as such
and on Top of it , It makes your phone lag so bad its a shame.
So am back to unticking them two silly boxes
I have been turning it on when i know im not using my phone for a long time, such as sleeping and in work. And i have seen an improvement. If it is the feature or just a really good firmware i cant tell. I am sitting at 15hrs on with 68% battery remaining. Screen on time is ~1hr45min. Its the best stock i have used thats for sure.

8 hours 20% drain is kind of too much don't you think? normally my phone is less than 10% for 8 hours
KH1 system power saving limits dual core max clock, adjust brightness and recude UIO rendering speed. Third option is really annoying becuse UI animation is not smooth.

I know a lot of people here use the Screen Filter app to both make night-time viewing more comfortable and also save battery use by the display. It is a great app and I have been using it myself for a long time.
However, since upgrading to Gingerbread I have determined that there is something about Screen Filter that Gingerbread does not like, causing it to drain a lot of life from the battery. The battery use does not show up under the Screen Filter application however, it shows up under "Android System".
I can easily demonstrate this - Battery fully charged left on airplane mode, with screen filter running overnight (screen is off) - will consume over 50% of the battery.
Identical setup the next night, with screen filter not running, consumes only 2% of the battery overnight on airplane mode. Checking the battery use screen of Gingerbread, you can see "Android System" is consuming nearly all of the battery use during this time.
I just wanted to post to let people know. I have contacted the developer and let him know about the situation.
could it explain this?
I charge my battery to 100% go to bed, drain 8% in 8/9 hours. But as soon i use my phone once.... (alarm/wake up) my android system starts to use "more" power/accu.

hmmm strange.
I do not experience this with screen filter and i leave it on all of the time when i'm home.
I have also no issue with the screenfilter app. (Asked the dev to change the icon into green )
@maartenjanvdwielen Change your wifi policy to turn of while screen off if you dont have some reason to have it all the time on.

i had but that seems to be an other drain .
In meantime i removed Screen filter and something happend........ i know its impossible but i gained power! I gained 5% accu without charging it after i removingscreenfilter.
stupid thing is i stopped the process of google maps also after removing SF so there is the possibility......
will see tomorrow, thanks for the heads up!
Does it not deserve a fresh thread? My battery is gaining power too, when I go from cold environment to warmer one afte reboot I can get upto 50% more power
Swyped from another GALAXY
I have that one too, Android OS eating up my battery, phone not lasting a day. I tried soft reset. It worked for a while until Android OS became hungry again. Then I flashed CF-root kernel. Android OS is tamed, I am now on the second day and my battery is still 50%.
I dun think that is specific to GB roms. I had the same problem on my froyo too. I always use screen filter at night only, cause I like to read before sleep. If I leave screen filter on, it drains about 40% overnight. Otherwise, it drains about 7%.
From what i can gather, avoid leaving screen filter app running. Just turn it off when you are done and no problems.

I happened to find my 'Use wireless networks' turned on one day, and after turning it off, my battery life improved (on the next charge) from (based on screen-on time, seen by checking Display in Battery Usage) 2 - 2.5 hours to 4.5 - 5 hours. That's double!
A battery recalibration is recommended after doing that.
It worked for me but it might not for you, so I don't guarantee any results. This is just my experience and the advice I'd like to give.
If it worked for you, enjoy!

It is always the same with this smartphone things. Mostly everytime you switch off some battery draining stuff, you loose comfort. I often want my phone to know where I am, because of wheather widget, bus/tram widget and so on.
This is good for someone who doesn't use these things.
yeah i always have this enabled because i want weather updates every 2 hours or so and sometimes use it ti check in to places, it doesn't use up that much battery compared to some other things.
Thats true. I didn't notice any difference because I don't use those things.

Disabling 'Background data' in 'accounts and sync' does a lot too .. I mean in the case you don't use it, and you have both wifi and mobile network off, so nothing can't connect anyway.

Hi,
I have had my G2 for a few months now and have taken all the usual battery saving measures. On a normal work day, I can leave work with approx 60% battery left. No sync and no apps running in the background. I use task manager regularly and Clean Master to keep my battery lasting as long as possible. However, for no discernible reason, my battery has started running down at an alarming rate today. When i look at my running apps the list covers almost every app i have whereas normally it might have just a couple. I haven't downloaded any new apps or updated anyand my OS is up to date. Am i the only one experiencing this?
Thanks
Assuming you've already tried setting Location Mode to Battery Saving instead of High Accuracy, check to see what's consuming most of the battery (Settings--> Battery; tap on the battery icon).

If the problem is not to do with wakelocks, then it is probably due to a badly calibrated battery. Download two apps: advanced battery calibrator and batterycalibration. Follow the instructions of batterycalibration first. Then the next day, charge your phone to 100 percent, then follow the instructions on advanced battery calibrator.
That should fix the battery life.
However, if it is wakelocks, download wakelock detector from the play store and screenshot the cpu wakelocks page please. Then, post the results on here.
Hi, I have location turned off completely. Battery use says my screen display but that is set either to auto or 50% today, I normally have it on full and last the day easily. It's been great up until today, for some reason all the apps are running in the background within seconds of killing them all off.

Maybe some apps you started toda are draining lots of battery since there is always google/whatsapp or facebook and many other apps keeping synchronizing in the background. I dont know or you have facebook but i had that app and that drained alot of battery on my nexus 4.
Uninstall clean master and task manager, this apps draining a lot of energy. Make a hard reset after this.

Try Greenify &/or Deep Sleep Battery Saver. Both are very effective especially for non-root.
With DS, in settings, stop the battery notifications and uncheck feedback.

The best advice I can give with regards to getting the best battery life for your Note 4 would be to turn off all the features that you aren't always using like Wi-Fi , Bluetooth, NFC, 2/3/4G data connectivity and GPS on your Note 4. and turn them on when you are going to use them. That way your battery will last your allot longer.
I suggest use hibernation manager and e root booster, they help to save battery life.
Uninstall Facebook and Twitter ?

Just my two cents worth but I was getting terrible battery life out of my 910F. Mine is not rooted but I disabled a lot of services, put it in battery saving mode, automatic birghtness etc; in short all of the standard things you can do that are built into the device. I didn't get any improvement. I even turned off wifi etc., whereas normally i have everything on, including bluetooth, maximum brightness (when screen is on), data, sync, all of them 24 hrs a day. Then I flashed N910FXXU1BOE2 (the french rom) and although the rom is not the fastest I've tried (of standard sammy roms) it works fine and gives me fantastic battery life. At night very little drain, and as I said, everything stays on with me. I usually get two days of moderate use. You could try it.

i just seen olso the one i have flashed...now i have 2 days 2h34 minut 30 so i think that s normal.

The battery improvement is significant for sure after the update, I also found that using samsung package disabler to freeze some of the app is not causing the battery drain any more. (My personal experience before the update was disabling app using package disabler actually causing some of the battery drain). I will attach the one I disabled right now. So far there doesn't seem to be any effect on battery life. I didn't disable the knox or samsung pay function as I use them quite often. I'm also try to be less aggressive with the app I disable. App that could making the communication in the background I try to avoid disabling them.
Also, I found greenify's aggressive doze function seems to working for me. At least, help extend battery a little bit when not in use. I only open the aggressive doze function and never force it to hibernate app. I also exclude many of my frequently used app from hibernation list.
The apps I have freezed using package disabler
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5iHdAT2Mw5lRjYzUHlXS0FuUmc/view?usp=sharing
I will upload some result tonight.
Hope I can hear more tips from other users. I keep getting about 60% or more left after the update with about 2 hour of sot when I go to sleep compare to maybe 30% to 40% left before the update. I don't use dark theme as I like lighter color. Also, I use chrome browser and listen to a lot of pod cast when I'm drove home. I also try to close the screen when using GPS to save power but my location is always set at high accuracy, I tried GPS only mode but don't think that effect battery life of the phone. I want to use the phone as normal as possible. Different people have different usage, If you using GPS all the time and turn off the screen while using it. The screen on time probably pretty low but still have high battery usage. Therefore, I believe SOT to be highly subjective.
I also read that the best way to protect battery is not let it fall below 40% or 50%. So after some more testing, if I found the battery report seems to be stable after this update. I will just using wireless charger to top it off during work time.
