WiFi Hanging & disconnecting after 2.3 Update - XPERIA X10 General

Ever since the 2.3 Update i am facing frequent hangs in my phones WiFi & it drops wifi connections by iteself....if I try to go back into the wifi settings ...it takes forever to load & often gives 'The activity Wireless Network is not responding'
I installed aLogCat from the market to see the logs & it gives a KeyDispatchTimeout
Anyone else facing the same issue or have a solution to this pls ?

Might be having the same prob, when my phone wakes up sometimes it won't connect to wi-fi until I turn it off then back on again. I've got a widgit for this as a work around. I just double click it and wi-fi it restarted.

wifi problem

hi i installed this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418859
but when i try to connect to my wifi it doesnt connect, when i go into connection settings for the wifi it comes up with a list of available networks but when i try to connect to any of them they then become unavailable any ideas?
someone must know what to do lol please
Have you tried soft-reseting your device? Every now and then the WiFi drivers dont initialize on the Wizard, and ya gotta soft-reset it to get em to work.
it works when i reset the device but once it goes into standby mode and comes back on it wont connect
i had the same problem when i flashed the nbd x rom, wifi shows on the list under command manager, but not when you go to settings > connections. when you click it the "busy" symbol comes up and wifi never turns on. i tried restarting, and even reflashing the rom numerous times, still no luck. anyway i found this just messing around with it.
click wifi and when the "busy" symbol comes up quickly hold the shut down button, and let the device turn off.
wait maybe 5-10 minutes turn it back on and when you do wifi should be on already. if not click it under command manager. (to see if you have wifi enabled go to settings > connections and "Wi-Fi" should show along the list. if it doesn't work try it again, but wait maybe longer like 25-30 minutes. this always works for me. if you can try not to turn off your device because wifi goes away and you'll have to do the whole process again.
hope this helps.
*haha nevermind you have a different problem. sorry

WiFi is grayed out

Why is my WiFi connection option grayed out? Now I can not activate my WiFi. What caused this and how do I fix this? Thanks for any help you guys can give me on this problem.
bahardman.
you you have the hd2 pluged in to your pc ?
this will stop wifi from working.
Duh!!! that was the problem, thanks Grantzxr.
Ok I have gotten my WiFi connection solved, but now I can not connect to the internet through my WiFi.

I have been having exactly the same problem! Even when the HD2 is not connected to my laptop the Wi-Fi stops being greyed out but does not switch on. The only way is going to Settings - Menu - All Settings - Connections - Wi-Fi and then tick the Turn on Wi-Fi. Wait around a minute until it connects... sometimes
I have the original T-Mobile 1.43 Rom (got my mobile only last week) and on the first two days it worked fine when connecting to my home Wi-Fi. But suddenly it just started doing its own thing. Most of the time I have the Wi-Fi icon showing but if I try and go online I just get an error message asking me to "check my data connection and try again".
The only modification I made was installing some of the wonderfull .cabs tested and tried on the HD2 by tboy2000 and by smaberg. Amazingly, the only one that did not work properly was the Touch X reset and wifi.cab; the Reset was OK but the Wi-Fi Toggle didn't respond. I am going to try and reinstall.
aiwama, let me know if you got it solved, and I will do the same for you.

Well, reinstalled the .cab, but I think that was not the problem. When I press the Wi-Fi Toggle and wait for around 50 to 60 seconds it actually connects - for a while - and then freezes.
If I press the Wi-Fi Toggle again it disconnects from the Internet. I actually went back every single time to check Settings (Wi-Fi box would respond accordingly) and All Settings - Connections - Wi-Fi and (un)ticked Turn on Wi-Fi box. So, the Wi-Fi Toggle works fine. But there's the freezing thing that I don't know where it comes from!
aiwama, I simply shut my phone done completely and then turned it back on after a few seconds, tried it and it worked just fine and its been working ever since. Hope it works for you also.

WiFi problems

Hello! I have some annoying problems with wifi.
1. Sometimes network that i want to connect to, is simply listed as "Not in range". Turning wifi off and on usually fix that.
2. Sometimes network is detected, but phone won't automatically connect to it (it will just show Remembered at the network and disconnected at the top). I have to manually click on the network and select Connect. After that phone will eventually connect to the network, but it will take much longer than normal.
These issues are resolvable manually, but it's annoying. I want my phone to automatically connect after i just turn on wifi.
Any ideas, what could be wrong? Does maybe have to do something with SuperPower program that i have installed?
My specs are in the signature. Similar issues were also happening with RAFDROID HD 1.0 and darkstone's Froyo SuperRAM.
3. Sometimes when browsing the web or watching youtube videos, phone will simply disconnect and one of the above issues will occur. So no automatic reconnect.
Also i forgot to mention that in issue 1, phone don't see any network, not just mine.
Please help, it's very annoying.
Bump. Anyone?
This issue is annoying as i have to reboot my phone frequently to fix this.

After the soak update my wifi doesn't work properly, any ideas?

So I updated in the latest soak test to 2.3.6 and after that I have been having issues with the wifi. My home network drops and reconnects all too often and when I run a speed test the bandwidth is bottle necked terribly. My laptop gets 35.57Mbps down and 7.19Mbps up but my phone gets around 1-2Mbps down and about half way through the test I get a connection error every time. I also attempted to connect to a friends wifi earlier today and the connection just constantly kept resetting. Anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to get my wifi restored?
..
I will give that a shot thanks.
Here is another strange thing it does. When I turn the wifi on it doesn't automatically connect to my network I have to go into the wifi settings before it will prompt the phone to connect to my wifi.
not having those issues at all.
..
I unlocked the bootloader and my wifi worked fine after that. I have no clue why that would have fixed it but it sure did. Previously to that I had not modified my phone in any way.

Is my wifi chip (hardware) broken? (Lenovo A7600-F)

Hey,
I recently got a used Lenovo A7600-F tablet from my office because they weren't using it anyways.
Everything seems to work perfectly fine - except the wifi connection.
Code:
Model: Lenovo A7600-F
Android: 4.4.2 (no further update available for that model)
Kernel: 3.4.67
Build: A7600F_A442_000_029_150401_ROW
Here is the thing:
I disable/enable wifi
I click my home network and enter the password
Nothing happens for ~2 seconds
"Failed to connect to network" (no "connecting" or similar)
To make sure my WPA2 security isn't the problem, I made an unprotected hotspot on my phone. Absolutely identical problem.
One thing I noticed: The tablet is able to find all the networks around me and updates their signal strength in the list without any problems. As soon as I try to connect to one, it takes around 2 seconds until it says "Failed to connect to network". If I then try again, the message pops up instantly with no delay for all networks. From that moment on, the list also stops updating and can't be refreshed until I turn my wifi off and on again.
I downloaded "Wifi Analyzer" and I can see all the networks' strength values moving. I can close the app, do something else or go to standby and come back to see the values still updating. But as soon as I try to connect to a network, it will give that error again, stop updating the list in the wifi section and Wifi Analyzer will not be able to find any more signals. If I close that app and bring it back up now, the list of networks will remain empty. Same with the networklist on the wifi settings. Turning wifi off and on again resets the whole thing.
In short: My tablet sees all networks around me and updates them, but gives an error ("Failed to connect to network") as soon as I try to connect. Then no more wifi updates until i disable/enable it again.
Factory reset did not help, I let the battery drain and charged it back up - no success! I also tried an app called "Wifi Ruler", which was mentioned to fix a similar problem in a post I found on another forum. Connecting through that has exactly the same effect.
Does anybody have an idea about what is going wrong and what else I could try to fix this?
