You're in the right place. Go down to the dev section and look for the stickys at the top. Good luck.

step 1: go to vibrant development section
step 2: click on a 2.3 rom thread
step 3: follow install instructions in the first post of said thread

[Q] Please Help

Hi there, I was curious if there was anyone out there that is willing to help me root my hd2 and get android on it. I've been on youtube and theunlockr.com and nothing seems to work always getting the rainbow screen. So if there is anyone out there that can give me a step by step procedure and walk me thru this I'd appreciate it. Its amazing how easily I did the G1 and now I don't even understand anything about the HD2
Thanks,
Mighty
There is a thread stickied at the top of the forum you posted in giving you explicit instructions on how to do this. You don't even have to search. It is just there and doesn't move.
I would suggest reading it thoroughly, and then if you still have questions simply read it again. It is broken down step by step for you. Not trying to flame you, but pointing you to the easy answer.

Want to install Darky's ROM but i have NO idea how to do it. Please HELP?!?!?!

Hi guys, i have a Galaxy S i9000M(canada) and i want to install Darky's ROM on my phone but i have NO IDEA to where even start. My phone is totally in stock condition right now and i want to get the ROM so can you please give me a link to any step by step tutorial or tell me how to do it please?
thanks in advance.
nobody? oh cmon please help i wanna do it so badly
Go to darky's thread and the instructions are there in the first post. Check the REF in the general section. There are so many guides. You should search before asking as you need to learn a lot before you can flash the rom.

I'm assuming this is the thread you've read?

Go back and read the entire first post again. Then click on about every link in that post and read or watch them. Now I'm not trying to sound rude here, but if you're not sure what you're doing after all that then I suggest not doing it. But everything you need is in there, as it's where I started and I followed the directions in that thread very carefully, and to the letter.
Dont know how to search cannot find a post in a rush not going to bother reading the FAQS .
1/100 on he bricks his phone .

Hope this helps
First make sure your phone is rooted with superoneclick.

heres a link with everything else you'll need.
A Good tip is always do a lot reading before flashing roms and make sure you have everything you need i case you get stuck. i have had to get help a couple of times myself. And one other thing i would suggest is always have a stock firmware saved to your pc in case you encounter any problems. you can get stck firmwares from here:

I've been using darkys rom 9.3 with steel blue theme for the past week now and its amazing.
Best of luck.

My first post here.. I have a Sprint Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch that I received a few weeks ago as a work phone. I've gone through the update to ICS, then, using this forum, have now gone back to GB EL29.. I used the process described in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1433101
to restore GB and to root my phone. All that went very well.
Now for my next step in the world of rooting.. now that I'm rooted, what can I do? I dont think I installed the CWM during this process, so not sure what that is/does and how to install it.
My primary goal for doing this is as follows:
1) be able to remove bloatware from my phone
2) be able to access/install apps that are not available through GooglePlay
Can this be done with what I've done so far (only rooted the phone), or do I need to install CWM or other programs.
Thanks for all the help...

You can do number 2 even without rooting. You can install every apk you with on your phone. Just tick the option "allow unknown sources" in the settings.
For question number 1:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1442549
If you had been reading and following the rules there would have been any reason to open this thread.
Your first post here, and you posted in the wrong device forum. You're currently posted in the I9100 Galaxy SII forum. You have an Epic 4G Touch. That device has a separate forum. Though Schindler33 meant well above, I advise you NOT to follow any of the directions or flash any firmwares/ROMs/kernels found in his link... since all of those links are to things meant for the I9100.
I find this somewhat ironic, since your own link above is to a post in the correct forum for your device.

I was looking under this section http://forum.xda-developers.com/ and didn't see an Epic 4G Touch section, thus my reason for posting in this section. But thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll head over there now. I appreciate the feedback for a new user..

Well, it's better to post in the Q&A with questions.
However, most have probably already been answered, so it's better to use the "search" feature first before creating a new thread.
Most issues, when it comes to changing bootloaders, you should be able to find the answer in either the Bootloader Guide thread, or the Bootloader Thread itself.
If you can't find the answer, then post in the Guide Thread, or the Bootloader Thread. If nobody can answer it, or doesn't answer, then you can create a new thread in Q&A.
Folks around her are generally helpful. I ran most of the Trolls away a few months ago
My best advise. Get your UID number before you even start. Write it down somewhere. We have a guide on how to do that.
Always read the guides. These were written by people who have been at the new unlocked bootloader and 3.2 and ICS from the very beginning. We did the original testing for most of this stuff a long time ago.

Thanks a lot! Very helpful.

One more advice.
When you post questions, and people help you (whether right , or it just didn't work), it's a custom to select the "Thanks" button near their post (reply). It's a nice thing to do. You will find the "Thanks" button located under the user's Avatar.
You are allowed to use the Thanks button 5 times each day I believe.
Welcome to the A500/501 forums!

my A501 arrives today, my goal is to end up with Thor's JB ROM on it. I have a "little" experience from running custom roms on my Motorola Defy, but that bootloader thread is really doing my head in.
I've found this which as a newbie totally makes sense to me and is a great guide for starters.

Hopefully I can figure out the Bootloader part ok, or could someone recommend a particular bootloader with the end goal of using JB in mind perhaps?

Droid Incredible ICS

Hello everyone, this is my first post at xda! Anyways, I have an un-rooted HTC Droid Incredible running an un-modded version of Android (2.3.4 stock rom). I am new to rooting and have never done it before but I am good with technology. So my objective is to root it and get the most stable build of ICS onto it with the easiest possible steps. If anyone wants to help out with a step-by-step tutorial that would be great! Thanks
Check out the stickies in each sub forum. Read, read and re-read them. There's a lot of info to absorb and terms to understand. Everyone here is easy going and willing to help. Read and search, you'll be fine.
Knowing is half the battle.

Hi and welcome to the forum. While I appreciate this is your first post, when you signed up you agreed to the rules of the forum and the first and most important is to search before posting as what you need is more than likely already available or been asked before. If your searches are unsuccessful then do go ahead and ask your questions but post in the correct section of the forum, i.e. questions go in the Q&A section. This information is readily available via a search as has been advised already which shows you've not searched before posting. This thread is therefore closed.
Thanks
