[Q] Unable to connect to Internet - Networking

Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy 3 I5800 handset. I have successfully upgraded to Android 2.2 & rooted my phone. But there seems to be a problem. I am not able to connect to Internet on my phone using service provider net services(vodafone India) whereas I am able to connect using Wi-fi. please help.

There is a big difference between wifi and 3G you may need a HSPDA converter router.

Agree. You can call your local provider and they can send those settings via SMS (not in all countries)

Need Help: Mobile Internet issues

Hello Guys,
So I'm on Simple Mobile (on t-mobile network) and I activated mobile internet soon as I got my vibrant. Before, I used wi-fi and everything worked well. But when I enabled mobile internet (My provider gave me settings for G1 & G2. I thought that it would be good enough for my vibrant), I faced these problems
*The default web browser won't connect to internet
*Other applications seem to work fine
*I can browse android market but any downloads I make are unsuccessful.
Its just so weird that some apps are able to connect to internet and some don't. Is this a known issue or is it something with the settings I got from my provider?
any help/comments would be appreciated!
Different apps probably communicate on different ports. I know when I got mine from T-Mobile the rep had to edit my account to add the Android data plan even though I already had unlimited data he just needed to change the provisioning. The only reason I can think of is that maybe it unlocked different ports.

WiFi hotspot

I have unbranded dhd and UK t-mobile network I cannot get my WiFi hotspot to work.
I am running the latest firmware, can anyone help ?

I personally haven't had any issues and I'm on TMo UK. Have you tried enabling it both ways? From the wireless settings in the settings menu and from the app in the app drawer?

i get the laptop connected but i have no internet access, is there a connection with the apn settigns if so what are the settings?

When I connect, it takes about 5 to 8 minutes until I can get access. Try leaving it connected for a while.
on tmobile uk too and no issues here. start the hotspot, search on the laptop for the wifi name and enter code.
Maybe post the steps you have done so far so people can try and see whats wrong?

Select Hotspot app
Inputed router name and security code WPA(TKIP) 9 letters
Selected checkbox 'Portable Wi-fi Hotspot'
Searched on laptop for router and inputed WPA
Laptop connected
Started internet app like firefox
On phone in the notification area the hotspot '3G' text (not the symbol) keeps dropping after a few mins and reappears
Ok sorted I think there was a problem with the apn I removed user and password entries and all sorted.

[Q] tethering on Three uk

Has anyone got tethering working on Three UK? Been looking for some info for some time now but it seems ppl just get some sort of errors.
I've been searching for the same answer. I setup the tethering on my Omina 7 but can't connect as I don't have the three dial up number which all the guides seem to require.

And you have tryed used the software that comes with 3? I have used my own operator here in Sweden and that works.
hey guys, came across your thread, 3 does not support tethering on their network as they are waiting for the offical windows software to come out to do it, which i am annoyed about as i got this phone on the basis it can tether. however if you still want the number it is *99# to dial to and u do not require a username or password (worked on my blackberry 9700), I am currently downloading the verizon vzaccess software as this supposidly allows the omnia to tether so I shall see what that comes back with
Still not able to connect using this... Anybody had better luck?

This is for USB tethering.
Internet Sharing works perfectly, thankfully!

Galaxy tab 3g cellular data not working

I got a galaxy tab 10.1 p7500 and I put my sim card in it. I can get network signal fine, but I can not use the internet with it. The data sim is working because I can use it on another device with wifi tethering, but I can not browse on the tab itself. Any help is welcome. Thanks in advance.
Did you set up the APN? Go to settings-wireless- mobile networks, see if use packet data is ticked and look access point names. Generally the settings should have been sent by your operator
Thanks for replying. I put in all the required settings. I can infact tether the tab and use it to browse on my laptop. I believe the settings are unlikely to be the problem. I use the same exact settings in the iPad.

Internet Unavailable, The Internet is unavailable with a Wifi Connection

Hey Guys,
Got my V20 yesterday. When I connect to my office Wifi, (Both 2GHz and 5GHz bands), it connects successfully but I then get a popup saying "Internet Unavailable - The internet is unavailable with a Wifi Connection <Connection_Name>"
Office ISP - Starhub Singapore
Home ISP - Singtel Singapore
Phone Model - H990ds
Note: Works fine with my home connection. On both frequencies.
Only thing I can think of is you need to sign in with your company Wi-Fi password. I get the same issues at my work Wi-Fi. Once I input the password everything connects fine.

There is no Company WiFi password We just need to connect to the network and that's about it.
Sorry I can't think of any other reason why it doesn't work then.

Okay so I managed to solve this problem
For those who might face the same issue, these are the steps I took:
-> Forget WiFi network giving issues.
->Settings -> General -> Backup and Reset -> Reset Network Settings
->Restart the device
->Try connecting to the network again and Voila!

Sorry to bump such an old thread but I've tried all of this and it still disconnects from my home wi-fi regardless of what SSID I use. Any other ideas?

I'm having the "INTERNET UNAVAILABILE" issue. Plz help. Everyone else connects fine, with many different devices and computer. But Me?? I connect fast and easy to the Wifi but everytime the "Internet is unavailable". I've reset network settings and restarted my device and have followed every other trouble shooting that's recommended.. Still nothing. I've been using my data but its going FAST! Plz help!
**idk if it helps but I'm using an LG STYLO 3.
