I put DL09 on and then added stupidfast v1.54. Worked fine at first but now it thinks its plugged in all the time and if i turn it off it wont boot unless plugged in. Is this a hardware issue or an issue with the kernel? Thanks for your help.
Had the same thing too. Started from scratch with Odin. Good as new now.
So i plugged my phone in and the notification for the USB went away. I havent tried to reboot yet, but the battery meter keeps going from 68% which the phone is at to 100%. Its very odd.
Is there a way to reset the battery? That might be way off but i dont know enough about it really.

My computer sees my phone. The battery stopped jumping too. Im gonna try to clean the port when i get home from work. I still need to plug it in to get it to boot. I was gonna try reverting to stupidfast 1.98 to see if the kernel is the issue. If it makes a difference i had flashed the circle battery and it started about 12 hours after i did so. I reverted to a backup i had saved. As this didnt completely fix the problem i assumed it was the kernel. Battery life is good with the kernel as expected but the phone just seems a little testy, some things are just a little laggy like its struggling. Any additional help would be greatly appreciated. If i cant find a solution im just gonna have to re-odin everything.
Well, seems it was a dirty port. Throughout the night things got better. Got home didnt have any rubbing alcohol so i stuck some heavy paper in there to try to rub off the port. When i tried to reboot it was hit or miss, when i held the power button the battery charging screen would come up as if i was plugging the phone in while it was off to charge. Could be due to weather here maybe i had salt on my fingers from the snow and i touched the cable before i plugged it in. However GPS isnt locking in any better than it did with DI01. Ill take it for now, vast improvement over this afternoon.
ok, the nook im using has had a tough life, and for 6 months I thought it was completely dead.
Then it came back to life and seemed to be doing well for 3 months then it started going down hill
bottom line issue: The NC seems to be turning itself on during the night while I have it plugged in and charging. Then when I unplug it in the morning its less than 50% charged.
I had cm9ICS on it and other than poor battery life everything seemed ok, someone here suggested I go back to mirage to haelp the battery so I did.
I went all the way to a full format (cache apps, everything) then started building with Mirage, everything seemed to work just fine.
Then when I went to shut down it just reboots.
So I try pressing and holding the power button in all the way, until it completely powers off, and it looks like its ok, but then this morning I got up and went to unplug it, it was already on and the battery was down at the 50% mark
I really like the NC I have 2 others at home, one fr the wife one for the child, plus I have given 3 more as gifts to friends. BUT it just is not looking good here...
any ideas would be appreciated.

same thing on all of them.
now I have noticed that it only completely powers down about 1 out of every 4 tries.
If I use the soft power off option (press and hold for 5 then select power off then yes) the other times its just one big reboot
anyone had THAT?
To power off the nook when charging... attach to charger... press power button... select shut down from menu.
If you hold power button in to hard shutdown with it connected to charger... it is going to power cycle.
That is normal... and functions the same way if you put B&N stock rom on it.

Are you also using the stock wall adapter? In addition to the cable you need to have sufficient output from the source you are plugging the cable into. Most older usb ports only have 0.5A output and the Nook needs ~2A usb port (usually say iPad compatible).
If the Nook is running on a low charge it will have start up and shut down issues until it is sufficiently charged. It sounds like you may have issues other than that but make sure you are getting a full charge after plugging it in overnight and go from there.

Hello all,
I recently installed Cyanogenmod JB (v5 then to v6, issue happened on both) for the transformer and it seemed to have some really bad battery issues. It would die really fast and the dock stopped charging. I was able to get it charging again after a hard reset, but then it stopped after a full drain again and hasn't been able to get it to take a charge since. The tablet as well has been acting really flaky as well. It stopped taking a charge and wouldn't turn on, but randomly would start taking a charge again, completely drain, take charge, drain , etc. and now it will only randomly turn on while plugged in for a few minutes then die (about once a day). I have done numerous hard resets when I can catch up powered up, taken apart the tf101 and unplugging the battery and plugging back in, holding down every possible combination of buttons, and even tried freezing the power brick. I also tried booting into APX, thinking I managed to get into a loop somehow, but nada. I can tell the tf101 is getting power from the wall because if I put my ear really close to the port on the tf101 I can hear the distinct hiss of power being delivered to the battery and lack-there-of when it is not plugged in.
I've run completely out of ideas at this point. I feel like it has to do with the fact that the tablet battery went to 0%, but I'm not positive. Considering it happened damn near in toe with the Cyanogenmod install, I feel that has played a role in it as well.
I'm wondering if anyone else has something I can try. If I can catch it randomly powered on (who know if it will even do that anymore) I was going to try and flash a new rom and kernel really fast and hope I don't lose it. But I feel that is very risky. So I'm open to all suggestions anyone has.

Just an update:
I was able to flash the AOKP ICS rom and it seems to boot more regularly, but the battery is still refusing to charge. Wiped battery stats, cache, factory reset, cold boot, the works. Just says "Charging, 0%" on the homescreen.

Another update. I was able to start getting a charge on my tf101 after flashing the ICS aokp rom. However, it is doing a trickle charge. Not sure why or how, but I suppose my power brick decided to die at the same time of me flashing the JB rom. I've tried the freezer trick, but no go on that. I was reading around and I saw that you need a usb 3.0 cable to get the 15v charge, but that didn't seem quite right, considering I was getting 15v with my USB 2.0 cable. Anyway, looks like I'm heading over to Amazon to pick up a new charger.

It's most definitely your charger man. It seems to be a common problem with these tablets. Mine died too so I just made my own from a spare 12V power supply I had laying around and a piece of USB cable.
It appears dead. It's late at night so i've yet to try googling about recovery through a pc of some such, truth be told while i can flash a rom with instructions, i'm no guru or anything. It was running CM 10.2? the latest stable release for N10, think that's the one.
I was just browsing a forum, and after posting, the disply started to stutter as i scrolled up, when i stopped scrolling, the stuttering decreased, and then as i scrolled and scrolled fasster, the stuttering increased until display turned black (stoned curiosity...) and now i can't get anything out of my N10. Holding power, trying to reboot into recovery. Nothing. No lights, sounds, vibrations. None of the normal stuff.
anyone got any ideas for me to awke up to? I think that if i can't get any life out of it, then would it be a case of trying to sideload or such with ADB? as i say, i'm a complete rookie, just a couple of flashes under my belt.
Second question, i probably have the answer to, but am i right in thinking custom roms void the warranty?
edit: Plugged it into the wall a few minutes ago. It had had about 40% remaining, but when i plugged it in, i got the battery simbol on the screen (big white battery charging in center) and any time i press or hold the power button, or with volume buttons, i get nothing but the icon. I'll keep it plugged in for now and see what happens. But by the look of i assume if it can do that when plugged into the wall i sohuld hpoefully be able to connect via my computer in some manner
If by stuttering you mean blinking, this has happened to me when my N10 was on charger with a dead battery and it drew more power than what the charger could provide. When you scroll, the CPU frequency gets bumped up and the tablet consumes more power. After a while it just turned off for me (when I changed to an other app I think), when there just wasn't enough power.
So I would suggest leaving it on charge for a few hours, then try holding all buttons and see if you can get into bootloader. I've had the battery levels not display correctly on some custom ROMs, (for example I would do a reboot at 60% battery and after it reboots it only said 13%) so just charging it a bit might solve the problem.

Thanks. As of 5 minutes ago it got back to life. All battery apps showed 40 odd. Strange.
i think your battery has gone/ on its way out, exact same happened to mine, you need a pogo charger and the original wall adapter to provide enough power to switch it on. Only thing which worked for me, hope it works for you.

Might be the battery, might be glitchy software. Plugged it in via USB and it worked sometime later. Will be keeping an eye on it.
It will probably be fine. I thought I had a bricked N10 but turns out the battery was dead. It is fine now. THought I had a bricked N7 also, turned out the battery plug got loose, (screen would flash every 2 seconds with static on the screen) popped it open and oushed the plug in and that is fine now too.
If it continues to die around the 40-50% mark, you'll need to send it in for repairs. Make sure they don't just try replacing the USB port on it, the battery itself is the culprit.

My Nexus 7 (2012) turned off(not properly) when the battery level was low and won't power on. I tried a battery from a working tablet and tested my battery in another tablet. It seems like the issue is somewhere else.
These are the things I tried:
- leave it for a couple of hours charging (no battery sign at all)
- hold the power button with/without the volume levels while it being both connected and disconnected.
- tested my battery in another tabled and put a fully charged battery from another tablet
- made sure that the battery is connected
There was one more thing I tried - to press the Power button with no battery inside but the tablet being connected to a laptop via the USB cable. One could hear something like a boot noise coming from the tablet (doesn't happen when the battery is inside)
In December, 2015 I installed a Custom ROM with android 5.1.1 which I found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7/development/android-6-aosp-grouper-t3268172/ (the thread was renamed and is now about the Android 6 update) The tablet worked fine for these 3 months but one day when I was checking my email it went off and won't respond to any actions.
Could you please help me to fix it? I'm just not ready to give up on this tablet. Thanks!
Both you and i, same model, essentially, the same circumstances. I also tried every method you mentioned as well. Even down to the flashing of a rom. Same results. I even tried "jump starting" the battery. Not wanting to give up on it. It sits in my closet like that boy in A.I at the bottom of the ocean, waiting... I know that is not the reply or help you were looking for. Just so you know, you are not alone..

Well, that's a good start, at least I am not the only one!
Have you tried to connect your device via USB? My laptop can see a connected device but it can't recognize it and I hear some sounds coming from the tablet when I try to hold the `power` button. This made me think that it can be a display/screen related, so the device works but we can't see it due to the broken screen/display. Don't know how to check that though.
Same here, stock Nexus 7, won't turn on, just switched off one day and won't come back on, have tried everything as suggested above, can't get it to flicker, doesn't even register the power connection with a green light or anything

Try replacing the screen, just to check. If that doesn't fix it, at least you have a brand new screen!
I'm currently having the same issue, haven't used it in 6 months and when I tried to turn it on, nothing happens

I fix mine,
let it sit on the charger for a hour, then hold down the button for 20 sec
same issue here as well ive had it for about a year and im not able to access anything via my pc google help forums had no answer either, looks like we may be screwed..........
Hi, I just had same issue with my tablet only thing is that I was using it with ~20% of battery, nothing special - browsing the web using chrome, then the screen lit gray and shut off. After that no response either from charger, holding power button for 60+ seconds didn't work either, tried re-connecting the battery, still with no signs.
And then, I tried to plug in the charger and then pressing VolumeDown+Power immediately after connecting the charger. Suddenly got some response, that battery charging icon appeared, and it shows my battery charging, but from 0%. Still waiting to charge a bit until I can try to boot it.
I'll update this post with any news.
EDIT: When I connected my tablet to the charger it had that hissing sound, but after few minutes it stopped.
After 15 minutes of charging I managed to boot my Nexus7 with 7% of charge in it a that moment, It seems to work for now.
Summarry of what I did to solve my problem:
1. Opened the back of the N7 (I used a guitar pick for this) and re-connect the battery.
2. Then plugged in the charger and at the same time pressed VolumeDown+Power, battery icon lit up but went out, repeated step 1, and then step 2 again gave me animated battery charging animation which showed up for like 10 seconds
3. Waited for 10-15 minutes and tried to boot normally. And it works now

Thanks mine was taking forever to charge so I unplugged the battery waited a few minutes and then it worked it charged faster

I have done same, Mine is , My son had it and ran it to 0%, charging port was iffy, put new one charging port in this morning, nothing, not even battery DEAD sign, nothing tried power, button / volume trick , I did notice on the power/volume button, there is a 4th, anyone have a clue, cannot find what im looking for to answer that.
I have a smart young co-worker looking at it for me right now.

Honestly, I do not think it is the battery, I can see the Charge signal, and the Battery is showing 1,784 VDC tested unplugged and disconnected, my smart young co-worker seems to think POST is failing, I still never see a "Charging" indication.
Does anyone know , Is there a fail safe, say the battery is disconnected, and usb charger is plugged in, will i just see all 5VDC at the sub port, ?
I never see a screen flicker, DEAD battery sign, nothing.

Now it is rooted, 4.x something I forget, Never went to 5.x did once early and did not like it, Back stock, ran 2 days no issues, Rooted again, 4.x still do not remember, worked great 3-4 months, Sons ran it to DEaD and that was it, put it up for 90 days or so, wife got new tablet, kids have Fire each, and here i am tabletless, CRAP, did not want to throw to much $$$$ at this thing, nor did I want to buy a new one.
Samsung Tablet here we come.
