Hi all,
A quick question from a newbie. I upgraded my SGS to XXJVQ stock rom. Now games like Asphalt 6 and modern combat sandstorm are not running. They crash at the start of the application.
So the question is, do these games work good with any custom ROM.
If they do, would you kindly point me to the best recommended stable ROM.

Did you do factory reset after upgrade?First backup apps and contacts then factory reset then restore or clean apps install from begining.

i now have F1 rom based on XXJVP or something rom.
but still having the same problem
I just upgraded to XXJVR "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200177"
to fix the crashing issue.
But its still the same.
does any one else have the same problem ... its not a hardware issue is it?
I have no problems with all games and apps with the Criskelo ROM . Try it
Have you tried to go into manage apps and clear data for those games?

Yes ... that didnt work either. I downgraded it back to 2.2.1 to fix this issue. but that didnt help either.
Now im back at 2.3 XXJVQ. same situation. Please help
I think i figured out the problem ... The games that i downloaded were trial on 2.1 Eclair when i got the phone and i was trying to run them on gingerbread.
I didnt get them running coz i had to buy the latest version. But other free games from the market place are working.

Hello there forumers i have just gone to 2.2.1 CM Floyo v0.15 on my precious Xperia X8...i tried to download the game from the market but it says unsuccesfull download and when i installed it manual via SD card it says installation not complete or somthing like that... Who else has this problem and if someone has solved it, can he share with me/us how to fix it 2

I have the same problem, and from what i understand, is a common thing with costom Roms, certain apps doesn´t work.
I there is a way to make them work i don´t know, but would like to know.
Problems like that ocures after unistalling the selected app and it was connected to an app 2 sd program.

I only install the rom 2.2.1 Hackdroid v.015
If i go back to my stock 2.1 everything is okay.
In the 2.3.2 i can´t install nothing from market.
Guys be sure you all have lastest kernel changes, made by the last update from SE available and latest baseband too (check development), after that I'm almost sure you'll be able to install angry birds.

If i were in you shoes, i would make a "Factory Reset" from Xrecovery (BUT YOU WILL LOSE ALL THE APPS THE DATA IN PHONE).
When you install the Hackdroid you actually install a back up of the Racht's phone, may be Ratch don't like Angry Birds lol.

i´m also using floyo 0.15 but i have no problems like this. i can dowlnoad everything from market(angry birds...). the only problem i´m having is playing .avi videos with Rock player, which don´t work.
Im also running the latest Floyo by Racht, and I cant download Angry Birds either?? I have updated the official SE version to the latest baseband (2.1-update1) before I rooted my X8, so not sure whats going on there?
also Rockplayer and TapeMachine both crash upon open? anyone got this prob?
also, just loaded up the newest 2.3.2 (0.09) and It doesnt detect SDcard and 8/10 times reboots itself after 2min. think ill stick with floyo for the min, but would love 100% fuctionality...

No. Make a Back Up with Xrecovery and then try it (then you can get back with the backup)

Maybe e didn´t like, but there others using the ratch rom, and can install the game.
I could do the full wipe, but doesn´t that erase everything on memory card?
Does Angry Birds run smoothly on your X8? All three episodes have noticeable lag which irritates alot.
Right now I'm on miniCM 1.0.2

I don't own an x8. But how powerful is the phone? It may not be able to handle angry birds. I know the HTC hero and Eris can't. Jw

Market workong fine on new CM6. Older CM6 base have problem with downloading al versions of angry birds
If you have trouble downloading from market try Wipe Cache in xrecovery.
Try floyo 0.20 the chick has it and there no lag my bro has xgin5.4 and no lag hope that help

I've successfully modded my MS2 yesterday using (walter's?) "ms2ginger-rc2". It's been quite easy - I expected it to be much more difficult.
Unfortunately it's impossible to add accounts (app crashs). Therefore I plan to roll back to the sysbackup Imade before with Clockworkmod and to re-mod it with a newer/ better/ more stable variant.
Can you suggest one that you are happy with? I am fine with Blur - it can be included.
Anything to keep in mind for the rollback? Just revert to the backup via the bootloader?

i have tried CM7 and was before using it on BackFlip, but on Milestone 2 i am really loving MIUI its great ROM.
The problem is as i saw no one who is maintaining these CM7 or MIUI rom is not Dev, so i kinda think Milestone 2 can perform better with some optimalisation for it. The reason is as far as Stock Froyo was slow, CM7 and MIUI did not show kinda speed progress or increase i guess it is performing same as stock ROM or maybe little but only little better, on BackFlip there was really dramatic speed change on CM7 but the dev around BF was more active then on Milestone and i am happy with what we have already.
As far as I know, the MIUI is the latest one. But that's just because endles7's ( the guy who is porting CM7 to M2) phone is bricked at the moment.
Both, CM7 and MIUI are great ROMs, but, at least for now, if you're looking for the newest one, then MIUI is the one for.
I believe that CM7 will be supported again soon, there is a movement on the forum to buy endles7 a new one if his is really bricked forever.
I'm using MIUI because o like the interface better.

Upgraded to "ms2ginger 1.1" but still problems with accounts management

I reverted to Froyo, reloaded the backup I had done with Clockworkmod, made an app backup using Titanium and re-modded the device to "ms2ginger 1.1". But still there is the same issue with accounts ("Konten" in German): When trying to add an account the app crashes.
I am fine with the rest ... it works far faster than with Froyo.
Is there a way to get accounts/"Konten" work again? Probably by finding it in the Titanium backup and taking the old app or by (re)installing some working .apk?
At the moment I am still very new to this topic ... until last week I still believed in the myth having bought an "unmoddable" device.
I'd try CM7, too ... but if it's possible to have it done with "ms2ginger" I'd at first prefer trying it that way.
Any suggestions?

but Cyanogen team will soon release a 2.3.7 Rom ... so we'll see !
Switching from MS2Ginger to CM7 Nightly
Sorry, if it appears to be a dumb question. But at the moment I am still very new to this topic and want to avoid bricking the device by forgetting a thing when switching from "MS2Ginger 1.1" to some CM7 ROM...

[How to Install]:
1. Download all in one update.zip
2. Make sure you have CWM3.x/4.x working. Or download from here.
3. select all in one.zip then apply update.
4. double wipe(if you are coming from previous CM7 version,just wipe cache/dalvik)
5. For CWM4.x, reboot and done.
For CWM3.x, download fixed-sbf and flash it. Then done.

...it's not plain to me if I needed to switch back to the official Froyo or if "updating" with the all in one.zip and wiping the data would be sufficient to get rid of the previous "MS2Ginger". :-/

That's the question.
If it's not necessary I'd directly load the CM7 ROM using CWM.
But, anyway: As long as I can access the boot loader (PowerOn + Cam + VolDown) I could still revert to the official Froyo if updating to CM7 directly would not work.
I think I just give it a try...

exactly ... i was afraid last friday while updating my stock rom for MIUI ... my battery goes out !
all day i was thinking that my lovely Milestone was bricked ... but with "rsd lite" i re-install my original froyo ... and then i could re-root it and put the miui version !
last version is perfect ! just the problem of keyboard layout but there is a script who put it back to azerty ...
have a good luck for your update !

... i don't really know ... just said that for me that was the only way to rescue my bootlooping m2 !
normaly you can update from any rom, just don't forget to clear cache, "dalvik cache" too (don't remeber the name) ...
the best is to do a factory reset before rebooting too ... but it's not always necessary ... from miui 1.09.23 to miui 1.10.8 i don't have to do it ...
they don't talk about it in the related post of your rom ?
Ok, thx. I am gonna just try it wiping the cache and overwriting the ROM. ROM switching is not relly described in the MS2Ginger HowTos. *g*

I am half-way about to throw it away again.
I installed EndlessCM7_20111001_Nightly_BPSW_v1_0.zip and then EndlessCM7_update_from_111001_to_111004_v1_5.zip and it appeared to work fine.
But I had to recognize an instable Market app, WiFi cannot connect to my access point and the camera app crashes reliably after starting it.
I will post this in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239778 too hoping that these are known issues with known solutions on it.
If anyone of you knows I'd be glad if you threw some suggestions at me.

O well....
For me, MIUI is workind perfectlly, without any problems.
And, my battery life increased alot with the latest build of it
So i would recommend it.

Update: I reverted to the stock ROM and installed the most recent version of EndlessCM7. Now it's working fine.

MIUI has Exchange server support and works fine.
I have typhoons gingerbread rom on nand at the moment, and when i try to play games like fruit ninja, some times the screen doesn't respong and it isn't as responsive as other phones. has anyone else had this problem and know how to rectify it
When coming from other roms have you ever done a full wipe? I.e task29, hd2 toolkit, sdcard format etc?

is it just just that particular rom, or have you flashed other roms and tried?
i have fruit ninja on tytungs nexushd2 and its flawless? maybe you have a rogue app taking up valuable resources such as ram/cpu etc. ive had that happen to me ( Pulse news reader app) had my cpu running at 100% at one point. so double check on your battery use under settings.
I've had bad luck with that particular rom.. Try another and I think your problem will be resolved.

Have you flashed the right region ROM for your Note?
All other functions go right? Calls? Data, messaging?

Can be rom/kernel related issue. It used to happen to me too when I was on C-Rom v.6.6 or v.7.1.
I've switched to Carbon Rom and now have no problems at all.

Actually...no. DroidX is correctly using an existing thread to discuss a similar problem. Making a new thread to discuss the same thing would be redundant and it against XDA rules. DroidX PROPERLY mentioned having the same issue in 'your' thread. He is trying to help come up with a solution by narrowing down what the common issues between your phones are. That is how XDA works.
Let XDA work.
As for your problem there is far too little information about what is going on with your phone to give you any kind of accurate help. But I'll give it a go...
Is this only happening when playing graphics intensive games?
Are you running a custom kernel? What governor?
Do you have any under or over volting going on? That could cause a hardware fault on a graphically intensive game.
Do you get the same result on a different ROM? (Try installing any other rom quickly and running Clash of Clans. See if the problem persists. If it doesn't, you have a ROM or Kernel problem)
How about if you plug the phone in while playing? (Don't do this regularly. You'll melt it) Does the phone reboot while plugged in? If no, then it could be a battery problem. Is the battery visibly damaged? Any swelling on the casing?

Hmmh yeah when my phone reboot is written (at the left site) SEAndroid is not Secruity or something like that
And i never flashed a kernel in my phone.
I only Rooted it WITH towelroot , Custom Recovery (at the first TWRP, but then i changed to CWM)
And installed Custom ROM (cm 10.2)
I am using at The background Elexier 2
And if you like i can send you an Elexier 2 report (what happening now in system)
And only crahes at Clash of clans at other Games my phone didn't Freeze, Crashes...
I am now playing Order an Chaos Online, FIFA 15 Ultimate Team , but all games work fine

There are a thousand guides on how to install CM around here.
The short version is
backup your current ROm in recovery.
Back up all your data with Titanium or Helium or something
wipe system, data, cache, dalvik in recover
install new ROM
restore your data using Titanium or Helium or something
It's not hard. Find a guide that will walk you through it in more detail.
It sounds like that one game has an error that is overpowering the phone. If the phone hardware gets overtaxed it'll reboot itself to protect itself.

Try a different ROM.
It could also be a hardware fault. (Though Id' expect you to see the glitch on other games if that were the case)

Alright...then continue to enjoy having the problem.
You don't have to switch to another rom for daily use. Just flash a new rom. INstall your game. And play it to see if the problem persists. If it does, either the game is broken or your phone is. Nothing you can do in either case.
If it doesn't persist, then the rom or settings you have now is the problem.

Hmmh OK but now i have CM 10.2 and can i test Clash of Clans with CM 11 ?
