Hello,i am trying to Root my phone but i had no success due to the lack of any detailed guide for Rooting with Locked BootLoader.(For play)

i downloaded everything the OP has said
But the Flashtool is confusing for me,how do i add a new Device with Properties,drivers,Flashtools etc?
@[email protected] i am so confused,the only thing i have done was delete the X10 firmware and replaced it with the Generic UK one.
Help? Will this also delete everything on my phone?

There is a rogers specific one but I can't find it. It worked for me and I added a few noob tips to it.

There are backup apps other than titanium, a lot of them don't need root.

Ok so I got my x8 today I managed to root, its on the latest se Rom. But how do I get app2sd to work and partition the sd for it. Im used to the wildfire and it was so straight forward compared but I do like the x8. Also could some one link me to the latest xrecovery files for manual install. Thanks in advance.

Look sorry guys or gals im having a really bad day. Just bricked my desire hd as I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing. Didn't mean to be a tw*t. Sorry if I started on the wrong foot im a newb when it comes to Sony Ericsson never owned one in my life always had HTC. Just really need help with app2sd cannot get it yo work at all :s tried flashing the zip with xrecovery. No there isn't newer version
To be exact, there is a newer version of xrecovery, but it is not X8 compatible. So 0.1 mini is the newest version for X8.

hello, after i root deleted some bloatware ive noticed
that when i click MORE GAMES, on Xperia Play, its "Loading" forever, nothing happen, so i look for some answer, and i download and INSTALLED "GETGAMES.APK" but still NOTHING, and the weird thing is i clicked get games on app drawer and it says "this app is not installed" but i actually just installed it , and no games on "more games" still, any solution?

You can thank now in Tapatalk too. The XDA App is still unable, but the main Tapatalk app allows you to thank from your phone.

good morning, hope all is well, yes sucessfully rooted the 4.0 firmware with xloud then I accidently on purpose deleted "funandgames.apk" and I am unable to find it anywhere on the tinterweb or xda site, does anyone kindly have this apk, i know its my fault and I could just reflash its just taken me about 5hrs to set everything up from scratch

i have the 4.0 firmware file (ftf) but i cant extract apk's from it ? .....
reinstall the firware i had todo the same thing. if u pay for titanium backup u can just frezze the apps, worth the money

hello, I have the same problem as you, did you find funandgames.apk? is the real name?
I really need it, I hate the firmware that I flashed and I forgot to back it up ! Can someone upload it or give me a link or something so i can get the original/official firmware, please ?

How do I stop the 4.2 ota? I been reading a lot of bad news about it and no support for stickmount app which I use a lot. I already checked with titanium backup but I can't find the right app to freeze in order to stop firmware updates. Anyone know how to do it?

I really don't want to wipe all my data and I want to keep it just stock. I mess around with my gs3 enough I want to leave my nexus 7 stock rooted. I use stickmount on a daily basis so I'm not going to 4.2 until it is compatible

Root your nexus and disable ota.
I recommend using wugs toolkit to root since it is so easy
And 'Gemini app manager' or 'Root app delete' ('disable' or 'block' ota, just dont 'uninstall'.

I followed this guide. It took about 3 minutes and it works. To get updates back I assume just delete the apk from /system/app right/?

I have a at&t i337 s4 with android 4.3 mk2 & I need to root it so I can get my safestrap going for my custom rom of choice..I lost root & last time I was running 4.2.2 & used kingo root..I tried that today but it was only good up to 4.2.2 not 4.3 from what I gathered..so whats the quickest easiest way for me to root now? I've done some research but found alot of confusing & conflicting results so thought I'd just ask here on xda where I've never been done wrong..thanks

We are trying to push you to do for yourself and learn wile doing so,most of us have been in your position a time or two and have had our uncomprehending questions but pulled through the negative to achieve the goals we want.Saferoot is the option you have with no risks to your phone or computer. Check my profile and see my stupid questions I've had in the past if it can make you feel better.ADB is not that bad if set up correctly.everything you search will bring you back to XDA so I will say good luck and you can do it

use vroot i found that the easiest. just download it and plug in your phone and it will root it and you are done
Kingo, don't have switch to supersu afterward.vroot works but have to switch to supersu for english
