It won't work in the UK. Europe does not support PCS.
Really>??damn..I do travel abroad quite a bit..Could you help me unlock it anyway?
There currently isn't a way to unlock CDMA phones (which the Vogue AKA Touch is).
In the future from what it sounds like it may be, but for now if you buy a Sprint or Verizon phone you are stuck on Sprint or Verizon.

if you have your 6 digit msl that your given when you activate the device (the ##(6 digit code)# that you use to program it then you technically have the code to "unlock" it, but the touch isnt really locked at all anyways because theres no way to use it on any other carrier accept for cricket and alltel will take devices from other carriers, verizon used to but stopped... the touch otherwise will only work on SPRINT or if overseas in korea and a few other countries that support cdma, which as long as you have your 6 digit code you can program the device to work with assistance from the carrier
That sux...I guess I should have looked into this further b4 buying..No wonder why the unlocked gsm elfs are going for so much online...I though cdma would work in europe. booo:/
I never activated it yet. Could I just sell this thing as unlocked?

Perhaps you don't understand the difference between GSM and CDMA. Unlocked has a real and specific meaning WRT GSM, but really doesn't apply to CDMA. Selling a Sprint CDMA phone as "unlocked" makes no sense.
Your right..I'm not too familiar with this at all...Very interesting though..Thank you for elaborating.
I was thinking about getting the sprint touch for a cricket service since they don't have smart phones. Is there any way you can unlock it for that. Thanks im new at this kind of thing.
Yes, there is. Just look around, its there.
there really isnt a way of UNLOCKING cdma phones, the concept at hand is that once a CDMA phone gets activated the information put into it gets stored into the system, and hence it has been activated, with a gsm phone, the difference is that a gsm phone adapts any information which is present in the sim card, which is why carriers usually lock them.....other than that whether its the carriers option to not reactivate the CDMA phone or it just cant be reactivated i just dont know, but it might be possible to get msl codes and mess around with those settings..
my 2 cents...
goodluck
Hello, my friend from Israel want's the G2, and we got some questions.
His provider is Orange by the way.
He wants to buy one on Ebay and a lot of them already come unlocked.
Is this trustworthy? I've been hearing a lot of G2's don't work when unlocked.
Also, unlocked means he can insert is SIM card and it should work?
Also, if he does buy a locked version. Is it possible for me to go to a T-Mobile store and ask them to unlock it for me?
Also, does anyone know if it will work in Israel?
Another also, would you guys even recommend this phone? I thought that this would be the best android phone out there.
If it's not, what other Android phone should he get?
I own the EVO by the way

I like the Evo, but Sprint services sucks. The sprint 4g doesn't even compare to tmo 3g ( I've done extensive testing with my bro's Evo to my Touch Pro 2 and whooped his ass every speed test, execept in St. Cloud we were in the boonies)
Hey, sorry if this is discussed in another thread, but I read a few and couldn't find the answer.
I'm on ATT, but I want to have an unlocked bootloader, so if I buy the Tmobile version for full price online can I just put my ATT sim card in there and it will work? Also will I be able to get LTE?

I don't believe it is that easy. YOu either need to get Tmobile to Unlock the phone so you can move it to another carrier or pay someone online to unlock it - I don't think you can just switch sim cards unless you have first unlocked the phone. (I am not talking about unlocking the bootloader - that is something else entirely - TMOBILE probably won't lock theirs like ATT does - but the phone itself is locked to the carrier until you get it unlocked)

Well if I buy it from Negri online it says it already comes unlocked. So since it is unlocked then is it able to be used on ATT, or is it only unlocked for Tmobile?

If you buy it from TMOBILE it is probably locked but there are a bunch of places you can buy unlocked Note 3's - plus yiou can always unlock the MOBILE NOTE 3 either with TOMOBILEs help or thru an online service.

Yes you should. It has the bands to support it. Keyword should until someone with device on hand confirms it.
I plan on walking in Wednesday afternoon to a T-Mobile store, purchasing two Note 3s at full price (one black, one white) and then immediately using them both on AT&T. Actually one phone on AT&T and the other on AIO Wireless (AT&T network).
My history is with Verizon and Sprint so I'm not 100% sure about all the specifics of SIM cards.
I'd imagine I'll ask if its SIM locked, hopefully they say no and I'll be on my way. But if it is carrier SIM locked, I just ask them to unlock the device? Is this normal? Does anyone see any issues with this?

i dont think they will be selling the device alone at full price anytime soon..
i ordered mine from negri and overnighted it so i am hoping to get it wensday/thursday. will post back with results but if it is unlocked fcc confirms which bands it works with so there should be no issues at all.

Yeah I believe in-store, T-mobile requires you to have service with them to buy a phone at full price (even pre-paid service). So you'd have to signup for the cheapest one (I think like $30/mo), buy the phone, and cancel right away. However they still charge you for the first month.
However they should unlock it no issues (though you may have to call - don't know about t-mobile).
This was my experience at a T-mobile corporate store, you may have better luck at a franchise store.

Anyone know where to get the Tmobile version in white? Full price. Negri seems to sell the blk version only.

Hi. I think these will precisely answer your questions about 3G/4G compatabilities between all US models (including ATT and TMo) for use in the US and abroad. A lot of people seem to think it has immensely clarified their concerns. It's partially based on FCC filings as well as documents from T-Mobile so is as official as it gets.

If I unlocked my T-Mobile G2 (via this thread, FWIW), will it work on Sprint? I'm assuming it won't on Verizon, but thought there might be a chance on Sprint. I apologize if this is a dumb question, but can't seem to find a clear answer anywhere. TIA!
The answer is NO.

No. Sprint and Verizon are CDMA carriers and T-Mobile is a GSM carrier, not compatible. Your T-Mobile device does not have the necessary CDMA hardware to work on Sprint or Verizon.

No, it will not work. You have GSM phone but Sprint uses LTE network.
But we could switch our phones if you want Sprint G2! I need the GSM variant but accidentally bought the Sprint Are you interested?
Hello. I cant seem to find any service that can sim unlock a verizon htc 10. I am looking for a remote unlock, or a way I can be sure it will unlock, since I am buying the phone off Ebay. I would hate to buy it, to see it wont accept unlock codes.
Will converting it to US unlocked version (s-off, change cid, flash ruu) sim unlock it? Or is the sim lock permanent on verizons?

As I mentioned in the other thread the verizon 10 is not sim locked and will work with a gsm sim card, provided that the lte bands used by the GSM network are supported by the Verizon variant. You just need to switch the network mode to Global in Settings I believe.

Thanks for your replies. I have asked the person selling it, and he says his is locked to verizon, it will not accept gsm sim. The unlocked verizons are a bit more expensive. Is there any remote unlocking services for verizon? Even if it has bad ESN.

I don't know how much sense what the seller is telling you makes.

As I said I used my stock verizon 10 with a gsm sim.
Regarding your question sorry I don't know. And I suspect the reason you don't find much info is because it's not needed.

Yes, you can ask for an unlock, but you have to meet certain criteria, and some phones being sold dont meet the criteria, or the owner does not feel like calling verizon and asking them to unlock it even when being free. If I buy one I can not ask them to unlock it since I will not be on thier network. I have fallen in that trap before. They ask you have it activated on their network so they can send the unlock. Stupid, but its their rules.

From Verizon's website:
We do not lock most phones or tablets that are activated with our postpay service, either during or after the term of your service contract or*Device Payment Plan*installment sales agreement.
We do not lock our 4G LTE devices, and no code is needed to program them for use with another carrier.
This is their official policy written on their site, so if the seller is trying to sell you phone that's somehow locked you should beware.
