CM7 and SENSE camera.

Heyy, is the cm7 camera(video) quality as good as sense (virtuous)? I know the cm7 camera app is pure crap, but is the quality the same, seeing as it still has 720p recording?

im my opinion i think the sense camera from unity is by far the best... cm7 camera and alot of other android native cameras made my camera blotchy and pixelated... the unity camera makes it look amazing... and i can do paranorma pictures

Sense Camera on CM7?

Is this possible? I really like the sense camera for the edit effects. A good photo effect app would be just as appreciated
Edit: another problem I'm having with the CM7 camera is that the picture doesn't fill the screen like with sense

probably not. Everything is different from sense to cm7

No. Every main Sense app is tied to framework blah blah blah, anyway HTC has it fixed so the apps depend on Sense as a whole...There's no picking this or that out, none of that, on touch wiz people have hacked the apps but that's different. Just use another camera app like fx, lg, etc...

Any idea where to find a good alternative?

Set the CM7 camera to 4MP wide if that's what you really want. All it's doing is slightly zooming in, so you're actually getting slightly worse picture quality.

FX Camera takes glitch-free pictures on ics

I've found that FX Camera takes glitch-free pictures on ics roms. The resolution isn't amazingly high but seems to be the best option so far for me... you can also create a shortcut to the normal mode on ya home screen.

ICS MIUI based on Lord's work
I've been trying some shots, and sometimes there are glitches, and sometimes there are not... anyway it does improve what i had before (glitches ALWAYS)
When using flash, pictures are always o.k., when flash is not used, sometimes I get that blurred portion on top...

FX camera is the app for photos
but what app is the best for recording video?
the camera glitches is the only thing keeping me from using ICS virtuos quattro.

Unfortunately you can't record video at all on any of the ics roms (yet...)

I'm using IceColdSandwich 4.0.3 - 1.2.0 and pictures are fine(I'm not too demanding with a camera's phone) but again I can't record any video

ICS Camera Sharpness

I'm running the latest version of ParanoidAndroid, and noticed that there is a lot of noise in a lot of the photos that I take.
I am thinking it might have to do with the sharpness of the image. Is there a way to reduce sharpness in ICS?

I don't think there is any good fixes for the ICS camera as we are still missing kernel 3.0.

Kernel 3.0 won't solve this necessarily on sense 4.0 ROMs though

I'm running IceColdSandwich and the camera quality is just as good as CM and even better than stock ROM. The over-sharpening algorithm in stock ROM camera used to introduce a lot of artifacts in photos and they didn't look so good. ParanoidAndroid's base is existz's aospX ROM, and the camera works fine in that too, so it shouldn't be any different for you. There's currently no option in ICS cameras to adjust sharpness. Try running the camera in tablet mode, is there a setting then?

Is it possible that using camera.apk from IceColdSandwich or CM would improve photo quality on Revolutionhd rom? I'm getting blurred photos almost everytime

That wouldn't work. Revolution HD is a Sense ROM and the Sense framework is different from AOSP. So CM, AOKP and MIUI cameras won't work. Try using another app though as suggested above. I have Camera Zoom FX which works great.

Using uCam already. Great app. Phoyos are good enough, much better than stock cam app.

I tried a lot of roms since i have my HD2 (just love it)
I really like the way ics looks and feels but i dont like the camera cause the camcorder has lower resolution.
Is their a ICS Rom with a Camera which can do 800x480 in recording and 4MP Widescreen Photos??

so it can only take 640x450?

Well at the moment i am using a GB rom where i can do great 800x480 videos but in the IC S roms i've tested so far i only got 640x480.....

I'm not 100 % sure, but i think there is a fix for ICS which enables the camcorder to record 720p video.
I'll dig up the link and post here.
As for 4 MP shots, just crop the image
