I just wanted to make a poll to see which RADIOS are all you guys using.
So with no any other delay....lets vote!
also it would help if you tell us WHERE YOU ARE LOCATED.
i myself am using 12.55.60.25_26.09.04.26 (Panache Stock)
currently at Las Vegas, NV
works the best for me.
I live in New York City, using the Panache Stock.
Just flashed the radio a few days ago though so I haven't gotten to see too much difference yet, but it seems to maintain reception better in certain spots that used to be dead zones for me. Apart from that nothing else I can really say about it.
I'll edit more info into my post once I've used it longer.
my sig says it all using the stock glacier radio 26.03.02.26 living in the Columbus, GA area. best battery/signal ratio for me
I just flashed the gingerbread radio so ill see how it goes so far so good, but not too say I ever had problems with the stock one

Hello, I have noticed that I have 88% time without signal. I know im not in the best signal area, but my eris never went above 10%. My battery life suffers from this and I was wondering if there were any different radios to use. I am running jt1134 non-voodoo kernal, and the 2.1.3 rom. Thanks for the input.

Yep, mine too... I HATE IT!! As VZW service is really spotty around my house with the Fascinate, however I never dropped a call with my old Droid 1. I have contemplated many times now to sell on eBay and go for the Droid Pro or D2 World because of my signal whoa's....
Same here, verizon has good coverage in my city, but spotty with this phone. However, it isn't worse then my old t mobile phones, so for now it isn't a problem, but my droid buddies have way better coverage then I do.l
Ya, when I had an eris, we had like 5 or 6 different radios. It was great, being able use the one that worked best for my location. Do you know if we need to wait for a radio update to have options? Im not sure how they obtained the one they had in the eris community.

Ok I got the shift about a month ago and have noticed that my 3g speeds are WAY slower than it was when I had the hero. Can someone please help me with this problem (if there is a way).

First of all, SEARCH! It would have gotten you your answer a lot sooner in this thread.
Secondly, look at the 4th post in that thread for instructions. It doesn't work for everyone but it works well for me. My 3G speeds increased by about 25% overall, but I've also only used the phone within about 50 miles of home at this point and geographic location seems to be the determining factor on how well/if this works.
Good luck!
Thanks for the reply.. that's what I first did and I thought it helped a lil bit but it still is not close to the 3g speeds I had on the hero and I've tested the evo 4g and another hero and still the shift fails to get close to their speeds.

I had a Hero prior to the Shift too. My Shift speeds now are about what I was used to on my Hero.
I'm not aware of any other tweaks unfortunately. If you just got it, maybe Sprint will swap it out - could just be the particular phone.
Yea I was thinkin it maybe the phone I believe ill unroot and go to visit sprint.

Been using the .17 radio for a month now with great results. Usually full bars in the GTA and as far east as Belleville. I have not tried the new .30 radio as of yet.

The best radio for PR?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
so ive gone and tried the new radio, and still garbage... most of the day in my home area here, my cell has no reception and a wonderful x through the signal bars....
so what else is a good solid radio for super weak reception areas?
or is there any way to boost signal?
Kneedraggin
This is a lost cause no radio is gonna magically make you have a stronger signal. Why are you asking and just try them?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Which radio did u try? Both 4.30 and 4.16 provided noticable improvements in cell reception for me, but as someone else posted if there is no signal to begin with....

If you use cm7 Rom , you can use 26.08.02.17_m2
Sense gingerbread Rom use 26.08.04.30 or 26.08.04.16
And must use Ril
my wifes iphone has 3 bars on average here where i have no service.... so the service is fine in the area...
Perhaps it is bad hardware? You have the Bell Desire Z? Maybe take it in and get them to give you a replacement. What network is the iPhone on?
I updated to the new .30 radio and its working great here in oshawa. Slight improvement in all areas imo.

Hi guys
Just want to know which radio are you guys using. I'm using KD1. Anyone done any testing to see whether this is the best for Australia or a previous version such as kb3.
I know for my x10 there are regional updates for basebands. Is this the case for the nexus S
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I too would like to know more info about radios. I'm currently on kb3 and it seems sufficient. I get GPS lock in 10 seconds so reasonably happy.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Tested with Kb3 and Kd1, both same, not much difference as Vodafone network is still upgrade in progress. I guess, KD1 is mre effective for UK
I'm on optus and just want to check is it my plan / location
My hsdpais pretty much non existant for the last month or 2

Stock rom doesn't show the H sign. Only custom roms do that. Maybe it's a carrier issue?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I think mostly in AUstralia, we get less "H", I not sure why, gotta ask them
Oh I'm using superaosp.. best rom... so that's not because of stock rom that I don't see h
Funny when I first got the planing on now I see h very often

I'm also with vodafail. Using speedtest, I get better download with the new radio KD1 and upload speed was relatively the same in comparison with KB3
Yes I know it all relative, varies on many levels. But I just gave my sister a g2 and being I'm in a different state its hard to test. I have her running g-lite with the .19 radio and edkeys ril/lib update package with tmobile. Trying to keep things simple for her as she is far from tech savvy. She's only had the phone out there a few days but she says its considerably worse reception than her old nokia and g1 I gave her in the past.
She lives near the prospect park area of brooklyn and works in the upper end of downtown manhattan, both areas of town seem to be a bit spotty for her
I wouldn't be posting this if I could test for her (or even teach her how to do it herself) so if anyone from ny would like to chime in id appreciate it as shell be back in my area in a week or so and I can change then
Thanks in advance

. 19 radio with rcdata from edkeys works great. I havent had issues all over manhattan. I get full bars all throughout. Only issues ive seen is the phone switching from H to 3g a lot. Only time ive gotten edge is around 137 and Broadway. Downtown by 23rd st and below great coverage.

Just would like to add i havent had much experience in Brooklyn.

Thanks for the reply, being all is the same on your phone I'm just going to assume here old phones either had better reception in general or she just happens to be in different areas as you. I may try some other options with her but its just too bad I can't be there to help her test, its been hard enough to convince her android is better than apple that in her mind if she has to keep testing out radios is just a step backwards.
Oh well, shell learn...

Keep us updated. Have you noticed on your end when gripping the phone on the top near the speaker grill a drop in reception?
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
Was out in the south bronx today around 238st and full bars. Was out in a concert yesterday in Williamsburg with full bars. Same radio as mentioned above with matching rils files.
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
after speaking with her more today everything is actually running just fine for her, i did some troubleshooting and she is having no issues, in fact she now admits she has better reception then with her old phones, in other words she gets signals where she didnt before. she was just being, well, an average american about it!
thanks guys for trying to help us out anyway
Anytime
