GingerDX can unfortunately not mount my 2GB SD card class 2 and I dont know why! Can someone help me?
How much space you have left on the card? I had a problem once, b/c it was maxed out!! Had to clean, format, and it worked like a charm. Not saying you should wipe your card, just comment on a situation I had.
Edit: GingerDX V.008 could not mount my SD Card (USB Storage), kept getting rebooted. Switched back to FroyoBread, and replaced my SD card (Class 4).

im still running MCR 2.8 and i seem to have the same problem. i am unable to format my sd card.
Hi,I have same problem after updated to modaco 3.1,I can unmount the sdcard, but after I click format nothing happenes, and I cannot install ra-recovery,maybe because a first problem...
Anybody know how to solve it?
Same problem here... i tried everything. im pretty sure this card is dead. It was a samsung and happened after i used iSyncr and removed it not "safely" -
Try to format the card with windows, trough your phone or, if i't not working, with another reader, like a camera or a sdcard reader.
Use this software to format it:
http://download.cnet.com/Partition-Wizard-Home-Edition/3000-2094_4-10962200.html
Do a FULL format not a quick one. After you finish, format the sd card again with android and create your ext.2 partition if necessary.

Hi all.
I have a 16gb micro sd card class 2 (sandisk).
Yesterday the message "damaged sd card" came on my notification bar.
I tried to format the card but i got no luck. With every i use i got errors (gparted, windows native tool, ubuntu disk manager).
So i bought a 8gb micro sd card class 4 (maxell) for replacement.
Sadly my htc legend doesn't accept this card neither...same message.
This time i'm sure the card is ok...because it works fine on any PC/Device i tried (including my girlfriend's samsung spica).
At first i though i might got an usb brick...so tried
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
with no luck...then i tried flashing another rom (aliba's Cyanogen 6.1, SuperBler V4)...same behaviour.
with dispair I took my girlfriend's 2gb microsd (sandisk) and tried this time with success!!
So 2 gb sdcard works.
8 gb not.
what do you suggest, crappy new sd card? or my phone got problems with sdhc?
What's brought all the old devs back?!
I've never seen that kind of behavior before... Hmm...

I can add one more to the solving puzzle:
in recovery (S-OFF) i can mount the card but while coping/reading it gives me I/O errors and than i have to reboot recovery to let it read some more (till a next I/O error...)
!!!

I'm waiting to try a different SDHC card. I think it's related to bad quality sdhc.
I was able to format the SD card via PC recoverywindows.bat...so far no problems but who knows maybe in a near future I will probably get the DAmage SD card message again.
I had the exact same thing myself a while back. Although it probably won't help you, I took it out and cleaned the contacts (no doubt superfluous but you have to try everything, right?) and put it back in (twice), and it worked. It's been running fine for months now
please help someone.recently i installed cyanogenmod 6.1.2 and my sd card is unmountig by it self(i use kingston 2gb sd card).i turned back to black system by quarks and there is no such thing.back to cyanogenmod and same problem again.is it something with the rom or maybe there is some partitions that i should do before install this rom.or something else.(sorry for my bad english::
It never happend to me... Sometimes when I use unmount sd card, he refuses to do that, and say sd card unexpectedly removed, but I don't think it is big problem.
Had my HD2 for over a year now and finally got fed up of lack of WinMo apps, which my housemate with his iPhone loved to point out all the time. So I decided to try out Android a few days ago.
Read all tutorials etc and installed Skink's clean desire rom v1.3 using cwm. Got everything set up and was really pleased with my shiny new phone. Everything was working like a dream!
I decided to get a new 16 GB SD card as my 8GB card was full of music etc. Here is where the problems started...
To get all data onto 16GB SD card:
I partitioned it using cwm using same size partition size as on 8GB (1024mb)
Copied all files on 8GB fat32 partition onto 16GB fat32
With the 8GB SD card in the phone did a backup using cwm
Copied backup onto 16GB card inserted it into phone and did a restore
Now the fat32 and ext3 partitions on the 16GB card and 8GB card should be the same, so everything should carry on working fine when i boot up my phone.
It didn't I just kept getting lots of stopped unexpectedly errors until finally everything stopped loading even the home screen, and I'd have to remove battery. However if I just put my old 8GB card in everything worked fine as before
So after much frustation I gave up on this method and decided to just wipe everything on 16GB card and start from scratch:
Formatted 16GB card
Repartitioned it using cwm
wiped data, cache, dalvik cache
installed clean desire rom from sd card
booted up started reinstalling all apps etc
Now here is where things get very strange, I'd start reinstalling apps and reconfiguring to how it was before and then randomly I'll get a stopped unexpectedly error, like process.android.media or something similar. But it seems as if everything would carry on working, then slowly I get more errors until for example as soon as you click on internet you get an error and it closes.
I believe the problem lies with the sd card seeing as that is the only thing that has changed. I also think this rom stores more than just apps on the sd card. Because after I get a few of these stopped unexpectedly errors nothing is saved on the phone. For example I'll change the ringtone from x to y click ok, but when I click back on change ringtone it's still on x. But I can still play music that is stored on the sd card. After I reboot the phone for a while I can make changes and they are persistent but eventually I end up back at this strange state. It's almost as if I can read from the SD card but not write to it.
Another example when I've got to this strange state, I'll add a folder to home screen, add apps into etc. But when I restart the folder has gone.
If I reinsert my 8GB card and do a restore, I get everything back and it works perfectly. But I want to use my 16GB card, that's why I bought it!
My questions are:
Does anybody have an idea of what is going on when it gets into this strange state?
Does anybody know how to fix it?
Is there some way of testing the SD card?
Should my first method of getting all data onto new sd card have worked?
SD Cards are:
Samsung 8GB class 6
Transcend 16GB class 6
Sorry for the long post, any suggestions are greatly appreciated
Hello,
I have a lg optimus l3 e400.
I am new to rooting and stuff.. Recently I rooted my phone and it worked well. Then I installed this sdmerge mod.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2215406
And installed this version of cyanognmod :

I have a 8GB external memory card. It was working fine then. But later I connected the sd card to my laptop using card reader and formatted it(FAT32). From then on the phone is not mounting the sd card! It only says that sd card is not mounted. The sd card couldnt be mounted even in cwm recovery. The version of cwm that i had was some v6.0.0. something. I later flashed v5.8.4.5 cwm recovery and even that is not mounting the sd card! I tried formatting the sd card even with NTFS or ext2 but nothing helps. The card works fine on other phones. And my phone detects other sd cards properly.
Also I even did data wipe, cache wipe, dalvik cache wipe and reinstalled the whole os. Nothing is helping out.
Any kind of help is appreciated.

Hi Vivjos, I got the same error after I did "Erase SD Card" on my LG E400. I pulled out the SD card, plugged it into a Micro SD card reader and connected to my PC. Windows automatically gave me a prompt saying that I need to format my card to use it! I said yes, chose FAT(system default) {DO NOT choose FAT32 or any other FS} and voila, my card showed up on my PC. I inserted it back into my LG E400 and everything was perfectly fine! Hope this helps
