WIFI Problem! - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

So, i just got my device yesterday, and been playing around with it. Everything seems perfect, except for the wifi connection that´s always dropping out. Specially when i´m in the market? Any solution to this problem? Could it be an hardware issue? Should i go and exchange the device?

its a firmware issue most of the times (some unlucky ones also had a hardware issue).
try installing b138 official rom or a custom one and it may gets fixed. if not you have to roll back to the stock one (you should learn how first) and take it back (or you can take it back now, your choice, i would probably take it back for a DOA replace).
also try it out on another modem if you can, i have also heard that some modems had problems with it.
read that also. http://android.modaco.com/topic/341011-ultimate-guide-to-the-huawei-u8800/

It still is with the stock rom in it. I didn´t wanted to root it or change anything until i was sure there was o problem with it. Do you think i should really turn it back to replace for a new one?
Thanks for the reply.

I suggest you try out the newest oxygen-release. The wifi is fully working for me, so it should work flawlessly with your u8800 too. if you still have connection problems, I just wrote this here.
You can revert to stock rom easily by installing the firmware provided by huawei. Do not worry about installing another rom, to me it looks like it is really impossible to brick this phone.

[Q] Can't find the SBF of my region

I have a Defy that's from Movistar Chile (Froyo 2.2.2 "3.4.2-108_JDNL-2"), I was looking to root it and install another rom, because the phone randomly reboots when entering certain specific towers, and see if my problems were solved.
Since the only way to change the radio was flashing other Full SBFs, I wanted to try other, the thing is that the SBF for my region/carrier is nowhere to be found. And I kinda need some way to go back to stock in case I need to use the warranty.
Besides, I installed 2nd init, and I'm worried that because the uninstall is partial the tech support could reject the phone. Do I have a solution or am I screwed?
Best Regards,
Lugaidster
Here You have almost all roms to Defy. If You wont find yours 2.2 try to find 2.1 and then use MSU to upgrade to Froyo. 2nd Inint will be removed after full flash sbf.
Sorry for my ignorance, but what is MSU?
Best Regards,
Lugaidster
Motorola Software Update which You can find on Motorola's site.
One last question, when you say 2.1 in your other post, do you mean 2.2.1? I'm under the impression that I can't downgrade to Ecclair or Froyo 2.2.1 if my phone came with Froyo 2.2.2 (because of the whole eFuse deal).
Best regards,
Lugaidster
Right, I forgot about unsigned kernels so if You have Defy with Froyo without any upgrade You can't downgrade it to Eclair and then upgrade to Froyo back.
I'm afraid that You wont find this rom. Only way is to find someone with it and ask for nand backup and then uninstall 2nd init. But as I remember in my region (CEE) before upgrade to Froyo people who had damaged phones with installed beta or chinese Froyo was sending their phones to Motorola on warranty and in few cases Motorola didn't asked about different software and they repaired hardware damages. If You wont find it u can flash it with some 3.4.2_107 and try to send it to Motorola if You need warranty repair.
Ok, thanks anyway. I think I'll take my chances and leave it as it is. I guess I'm stuck with a randomly-rebooting phone (Already took it to tech repair and they said that there was nothing wrong with the phone, and unless there's something wrong with it they won't change it).
Best Regards,
Lugaidster
BTW it's normal in Defy rebooting sometimes. I had Defy normal on stock Eclair and next Froyo and now I have Defy+ on stock 2.3.4 and now testing CM7 and on both phones and all firmware versions phones had 3-4 randomly reboots in week.
The thing is that more often than not, it reboots like 10 times in the span of an hour. It's incredibly annoying.
When it keeps rebooting turn on airplane mode and watch for results. If it stop rebooting it's problem with sim card. I heard that in few cases T-Mobile cards had problems in Defy and device keeps rebooting all the time and freezes. It can be problem with SetVsel if You have one, set defaults values. But if airplane mode helps just change sim card on new carrier or normal/micro sim (different that one You have now). Hope it should solve Your problem.
As you mentioned, airplane stops it from rebooting, the thing is that it doesn't matter which simcard it has, it reboots either way, I have it locked so I haven't tried with other carriers, but with the current carrier it reboots like hell. The most annoying thing is that it does so only on certain locations and I happen to live in one of those. I leave for work and it stops rebooting until I return.
Try to mix 2G/3G only and with/without data transfer and set network manually/auto.
I'll try that, but I won't keep my hopes up... I'll notify in case it fixes something, since I can't be the only one with this problem.
Best Regards
Nope You're not. Here You have similar problem. I didn't read whole thread but parts about sim card problem. Maybe it gonna help You somehow.

Wifi issue on Galaxy S4 I9505

Hi all,
Ever since updating to the latest MGA via OTA firmware nearly 2 weeks ago the Wifi has been causing me a lot of issues. The following evening after updating the firmware, the wifi just randomly turned itself off and would refuse to turn on again. When I attempted to turn it back on via the widget, it would go grey as it's attempting to turn on but then it would just stay at that and it will not turn on at all. After a few minutes it will either go back to being completely turned off or the phone would just reboot itself.
Now, I have tried several things to rectify the problem i.e. applying the MGA wifi fix, factory restoring the phone via the settings and also in Kies, downgrading back down to the MEA firmware, re-flashing the stock MGA firmware via Odin and re-flashing both the MEA & MGA modems seperately - all to no sucess!
At the same time while all this is going on, the phone itself will sometimes randomly reboot itself when attempting to turn on the wifi or even in the rare case when the wifi does turn on and it will work for 5 or so minutes - the phone will reboot itself again while trying to simultaneously update various apps through the play store.
Lastly, the phone has already been sent back to Samsung a few days ago regarding this issue and the phone was returned back to me yesterday with Samsung apparently stating that they had diagnosed and found an issue with the phone (even though they could not tell me what??) and that they had sucessfully repaired it. Upon turning the phone back on going through setting up the phone again, I come to the wifi connection and guess what... it doesn't turn on. Yep that's right, I'm still stuck with the same problem!
I got straight onto Samsung on the phone and complained about this as I'm not happy at all, and they have agreed to have the phone back in for another repair and apparently something will be done properly this time.
It's not good enough though, to me all it looks like that Samsung have done their end on the original repair is re-flash it with the MGA firmware once again, shove it back in the box back to me and hope for the best. Even the Samsung agent on the phone yesterday could not tell me exactly how they apparently repaired the phone as there was not anything on the repair report what so ever, unbelievable!
Anyway, do any of you guys have any ideas with what else I can do my end to try and rectify the problem? To me though, this sounds like a physical hardware fault that only Samsung themselves can sort out...
Thanks - Liam

Well I have only had this problem with rooting phones etc... to me this happened with so many ROMs I tried. Even certain stock roms. I am not sure fully how I fixed it, but I know now I am running the OMEGA rom and this seemed to have worked for me so possible to try that? Just an option

When I first downgraded back down to the MEA firmware that I was linked to from another forum, I discovered straight after flashing that it was a pre-rooted ROM and the wifi still would not turn on then.
The phone has been sent back to Samsung again today for another repair but last night as a last ditched attempt, I downloaded & flashed the stock XXUAMDM firmware from April and the wifi still refused to turn on.
I'm still convinced that the problem itself is hardware related rather than software based going by that the problem is still present regardless of what ROM I'm on, it's just a case of trying to get Samsung to see that. I can understand now why that Samsung the first time round probably only did a fresh re-flash of the MGA firmware instead of going ahead and taking the phone apart/replacing parts as I imagine it's very labour intensive/standard procedure and not only that - the S4's mainboard (from what I've seen the wifi module is part of the mainboard) retails at over £200 which is a hefty repair cost on their part.
Liam
It is some sort of permissions issue.
If you do chmod 777 on /dev/*, /system/etc/wifi/* it should be working.
The only thing I haven't figured out is why
And it has to be done again after rebooting the phone, wich makes me sad.....
How I fixed my WiFi and sound problems after updating to latest firmware over
Hi there. (Sorry for any mistake about my English). By the way, I'm newbie on Android.
After freaking out about my WiFi problem, i didn't even care about the others problems like the sound, and I don't know if there were or if there is still some, but WiFi and sound got fixed.
After a lot of research on Google and XDA I came to the conclusion that if I could just re-install the firmware, I had
1- I Download the same firmware you are on (i guess it safer this way) I got the same (I9505VJUEMKE) that had caused the problem when was update trough Kies.
GT-I9505_PDA_I9505VJUEMKE_4.3
Changelist: 2210919
Build date: Wed, 27 Nov 2013
CSC: I9505ZTOEMKE_ZTO_Brazil
MODEM: I9505VJUEMKE
Gdrive: (créditos ao +Alexandre Affonso - Vlw)
Two links for download this firmware. (really fast download since its on gdrive)
goo.gl / UrZWAE .
goo.gl / omJC9e "
2- Unpack the Zip File
3- Putt the phone in "Download Mode"
4- Open Odin 3.07 and Connected the cable. (check if Odin linked a port to your phone, i didnt get any color change, just the COM Port number and the "added" mentioned on Odin)
5- Load the firmware on "PDA", wait a few seconds till Odin load it.
6- Click Start and wait the whole process. Don't disconnect the cable until Odin says that it was Successfully.
Finished!
After all I did the root with Odin + CF Auto Root + Supersu and So far everything is fine and better than before.
Hope I can help few of you guys.
Thanks.

Gps problem GTI9505

Hi everyone. My rom is cm 13 but not defined on rom. my problem is actually interesting. i see in view 25~30 but in use 0 on gprs test. i tried clear a-gps , update agps but says clear agps request made. see this problem anyone without me ? thank you in advance.
My trieds..
1-Not working on stock rom. i tried
2-Clear gps or another gps apps i tried but its useless
3- i install modem &boot loader its useless
Hi there - same problem here.
Many solutions suggested points to pay attention to S4 body screws and attach them firm with a screwdriver.
In my case, it didn´t work.
My problem is not hardware problem. i tried everything but its not useless. my signal is good but gprs status & toolbox satellite in view 25 ~30 but unfortunately in use "0"
I had OMEGA´s ROM and since the begining, GPS worked like a charm.
All of sudden, it stopped and I tried all the hints and tutorials found on GOOGLE and here.
I just step back to Stock ROM again and...voilá! GPS working again, 100% functional.
really ? i going back old stock rom on twrp but doesnt working. your stock rom flashed on odin ?

I've had this same issue a while back, but solved it by reflashing original ROM and modem with ODIN (which from there I installed TWRP, Cyanogenmod, etc. to get back to business.....).
You should be able to find your original firmware here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-I9505/

No, I've never personally encountered that issue myself when I revert back to original firmware and recovery (via ODIN only).
The issue people do refer to is flashing lower than 4.4.2 due to the previously upgraded bootloader.
Just bare with me and do a nandroid backup, then try ODIN flashing your exact original firmware from the link I gave to you above (no lower than 4.4.2 of course).
It will load your original OS, recovery, and modem. If this fails, then we can better ascertain what exactly is the problem and easily progress from there.
Regards.
Ok. Thanks bro
Dont work i install stock rom via odin but still not working whyy???? İ am insane now. Still im view 20~25 stalite but in use 0. İ am going be crazy. Anyone help me ?
Then, I think its time to try to tight a light bit the screws of S4 body.
To be honest, I opened mine and there was a lot of dust & dirt there...certainly, not good for the contacts.
Start open from the botton, using a guitar pick and the entire part will be dettached.
Then, with the pick you can carefully start releasing the body (starting from the sides) and then, in the top left side, you will see GPS connection and antena in the part dettached. Try to clean it and then, firmly attach the screws again, specially this one.
I hope it works!
Dirty gps area possible it ? Because my phone signal is cool

Query for K30-W, No Sim issue

Hi Guys! I'd like to ask for some help and advise. I've scoured through the forums and couldn't find a solution that works. I'm helping a friend to fix his phone currently.
Phone: K30-W
Currently installed ROM: CynogenMod 12 (tested 11 too) with the same problems.
Phone was an imported phone, which had a lot of bloatware and various other issues that came with it. Bloatware was so severe that random adverts flash on the phone every couple of minutes of using it. Even after factory resetting, bloatware and junk was not removed, so i flashed his rom to Cynogenmod 11. The phone works fine with 1 caveat, modem/radio/simcard does not work. I made the mistake of not backing up his phone first, but i figured that the backups would likely come with his bloatware again anyway.
Tried re-flashing to Cynogenmod 12. Same issue persisted. I tried a solution from "http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/how-to-root-lenovo-a6000similar-to-t3017828/page4" as well, but still same problem persisted. I've looked for stockroms to re-install, but have been unable to find one that I could install properly either. SP Flash tool with stock roms didn't have the scatter file in the download either for the SP Flash tool to work.
Currently, all other functions of the phone is fine except for the network. So I get no data, no calls. Phone is essentially a wifi phone for now.
Do any of you here know how I can solve this? I can provide further information as required.
Thank you very very much in advance.
Flash the stock rom and head to the service centre and act innocent. I think this is the safest option rather than doing things by yourself and putting it into more trouble.

Dial *#06# and check if you have IMEI or not. If you don't, then you can repair your IMEI using QFIL.
Thanks for the idea. Will look for the QFIL files and guide to try to get this one sorted. you're right. no IMEI.

Can you tell us more?
How did it start?
Did something happen to it, or did you just notice it is not connecting?
The most easy things first, is your sim card correctly in place?
Which ROM are you on and have you reflashed it?

The phone started with problems since I upgraded to Android Pie, I have taken care of it very well but I do not know if it is a hardware failure, but note that in baseband turns out to be unknown, I installed several stock roms from fastboot without any success, also I thought it would be a problem of the EFS partition, but everything is fine I even took a backup in case the doubts, what could happen?

Did you originally update via OTA, meaning, was it the official update?
Then when you noticed it's not working, you tried to flash several stock ROMs?
One possible problem that comes to mind, is that for some reason, you have the wrong radio/modem firmware. That can happen for example, if you have flashed a ROM, which is not meant for your region.

Yes, upgrade to Android pie via OTA
I already put a stock rom of the same region, following each fastboot command one by one, but everything continues the same, I even installed RROS 7, to see if at least it turned on the wifi, and it is in bootloop.

Go with the modding guide index: how to restore stock ROM etc., and flash a stock ROM that you know will work. Flash the radio/modem file too, and make sure it's the correct one.
Just to say, I had connection problems too, and in the end they were because the sim card did not latch correctly in place i.e. was not correctly in place.

Great that you have an idea. ?
Here's an idea: take a backup of your current config in twrp, move it to the computer, take a copy. Replace the files in that copy with the ones that you want to flash.
Did you mean this? You are aware that you can try different radio/modem files through fastboot, not having to flash everything else every time? That said, go with your idea. ?

I probably can't help at this point, apologies! My suggestion is to flash a stock ROM, lock the bootloader and send the phone for repairs. There could be a solution to this, but I'm out of ideas. ?*

Hello, colud you solve the problem? Because I am havig a very similar one...
Hello group friends, I'm new here. I have a similar problem, I was using the Havoc 2.4 rom, when upgrading to 2.6 I no longer recognize my SIM card and the wi-fi does not connect, I can not install another rom anymore, nor rom stock, recovery TRWP has been replaced by the Havoc and the Wipe System function does not work, and for a few days you can not stay in recovery mode anymore, it restarts every 3 seconds, not the time to click the options. Can someone help me. I'm without a cell phone, and I need it.
I have a similar issue after flashing the latest firmware. SIM goes to "SIM locked" every ten seconds or so, and Wifi drops at the same tie. It's like networking is being reset every 10 seconds. No network settings I've tried change that.
I've flashed several stock ROMs; the one I had previously, newest, oldest, both for RETEU and retail. I used Lenovo restore to upgrade but that resulted in soft brick, after that I flashed the latest firmware via Fastboot and that's when the problem started.
With Oreo, wifi and cellular don't work at all, nothing detected. With Pie they're connected and dropped in a loop. I can't help thinking that the Lenovo restore broke this somehow, but modem files have been reflashed several times after that with no change. I'm not getting the baseband error.

I have the exact same problem, I wasn't able to repair it so I sent it to service and tomorrow they will try to fix it for $35. The problem with goign back to previous versions is that you loose the IMEI and MAC . The problem with the pie version I believe is the baseband. If the service is able to fix it I will post the solution here for you to fix it .

Sorry I answer so late, I didn's see the message before.
I believe you already tried puting it into bootloader mode. If that's the case, I had a similar problem recently an it solved alone, I let it loop for a while and suddenly fell, into dtock recovey, i factory reset (with stock recovery) and somehow stock was booted ( i believe it was because it was in inactive slot).
Hope this helps you

Service couldn't fix it. Being honest they were quite incompetent, when I explained the problem he said "we should hire you" ( I am 16 years old) . Anyway, could you fix it? Because I am not even close

I am still working on this, I actually did this to a work phone (I had permission to root/unroot). Something that has helped me so far is just getting familiar with the whole flashing process - https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...actory-images-android-using-fastboot-0175277/. I think from this article the problem lies in the modem/radio rom. That *should* be the only thing you need to flash on. However, I have noticed with a lot of roms on here, a modem rom is not included on the stock firmware. But that needs to match well to your phone from what I understand. I have tried a few modem roms already, unfortunately, but no luck.
