Honestly, stock isnt that bad with a card like this. It's still snappy etc...I haven't been able to try it with root yet, sadly.

Well first if its an OG Evo you cant root it as of yet, but the Sd card always helps on certain Roms, once (or if) you root your Evo.

Class 2 and 4 cards have better random access speed and random read/write than class 6 or 10 cards in general. To get higher sequential write speeds, manufacturers sacrifice the random access speeds.

I have a 32 class 10, when used with DTA2SD it is a beast. You can move your dalvik to the SD ext along with all apps located in /data/. What that does is free up internal space allowing the rom to run faster and smoother. I tried with a class 2 and a class 4 card, and neither was fast enough to store dalvik.
Also a higher class card will allow you record video in 720 without the hiccups.
I saw a difference when I went from stock to a class 10 16gb card. Going to get a patriot 32gb since I hear pretty good things.

Is there anything specific I should do when switching SD cards or can I just copy my music over and switch?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I replaced mine with a class 6 microsd, and I copied over everything that was on my old card. I tried it with just transferring the music and DCIM files at first, but then the Rockband Demo wouldn't work. In order to avoid any other unforseen difficulties I just copied everything, then pasted it into my new card.

Yup... Newegg FTW
BUT.. you should really look at the WinTec 16GB Class 10 (<--- not a typo)
its only 30 bucks or something ridiculously low and it tested above Class 10 claims.
I'm rocking one now and will most likely get another one from my Nook.
Just like the post says.
I don't want to buy overkill. could someone maybe do a write test on a working SD card to see how the performance is. I think class 10 would be safe but if the device is limited to 6mb write speed then Wed all save lots of $ by getting class 6
Get a class 6, more than enough ...!

Update us when in hand
After you receive this, please update the post for us and let us know that it is legit 32 gig as there have been some questionable ones floating around out there.
Also please give us an idea of how you think it performs...
It is cheap because it is class 4. I wouldn't buy it. Transfer speeds will be terrible.

I've seen cheaper, of higher class in stores previously when shopping before it was released that the xoom won't come with the support.

You think class 4 transfer speeds are terrible? Unless you do nothing but constantly transfer huge files to and from said sd card, there is no need for outrageous classes. My class 4 has been wonderful.
What class would you guys say is over doing it for a mt4g? I'm also thinking a 16 gb card for the size, but maybe 32, because I'm running out of space on my phone.
Requirements:
Good price
16 gb at least, but maybe higher
Good class, so it's not slow, but not over doing it
It would also be better if I can find it in stores, because I can't buy things online really, except for stuff off of Amazon, but it seems like too much work for that .
Thanks in advance!
16,should be more than enough.

Got a 32 on Amazon for like $30
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I just went through this myself.
I opted for a class 6, 16GB card.
Class 6 was more than enough speed for anything my phone does. It might be a little laggy if I'm dumping 4GB of MP3's to it...but how often do I do that?
And I might fill a 16GB card eventually. But by the time I do that sometime next year they will have 64GB cards out so the 32GB cards will drop in price dramatically.
16 or 32. I have a 8gb sandisk class 4 but 8gb is not enough for me. I need all my music with me and enough room for roms, backups, and kernals haha.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Yeah, my 8gb card is completely filled up, so I'm hoping for at least a 16gb card, but a 32gb would be better. So a class 6 card would be good enough though?
My personal opinion is don't go below Class 6 on anything 16GB and above.
Does the myTouch 4g accept microSDHC cards?
ANY 4GB or above card is SDHC. Since MT4G supports up to 32GB, the answer is obvious.
Steven, HC means high capacity which would be anything beyond 2GB as Jack stated. So yes our MT4G does accept microSDHC as it ships with 8GB SD card.
Now you may want to look in to Patriot LX 32GB Class 10. Which is decent for the price, I suggest you do a search on our very forum and find user review before you order over Kingston or SanDisk.

No problems here, combined with directorybind I have all the space I need
So... should I or should I not buy a 64GB memory card?
Don't really wanna waste $80 on a Class 10 64GB if it'll just die. It's Sandisk btw.

you can buy, i am using this Sd and it is awesome...
$43 for amazon for me
The manual states that 64gb is supported, so it shouldn't be surprising really that it works.
The internal chip is a bi faster writing at about 17mb/sec whereas the Sandisk writes at about 10. Plenty for media storage
Im using mine (sandisk ultra 64g uhsi cl 10) for about 3 days now and its awesome.. fast..i recommend it m8. It was 50 euros for me from ebay

Please take note that sandisk has a lot of imitation cards out there. Some of the imitation looks more like original than the original in terms of packaging quality.
I anyways buy from shops only and verify its original by going to their website on the spot and checking out the look out signs for fake.
Fyi to date I found 3 shops selling imitation cards at original cards price.

I have a 32 GB sandisk Ultra HC1 and have tried everything but keeps unmounting (gets message that says - sd card removed unexpectedly). Sucks so bad and is major pain in the ass, I have also ran a script to use sd card for internal memory but once it goes to sleep i have to resart phone to access it.
