New flashplayer update available for download on market. Gonna see if there is any improvement for flash.
This is just too rich Adobe has now updated their app and we STILL don't have Froyo. So, if you have an ATT 3G Nexus you never even got a chance to play with the very first Adobe Flash app for Android, unless you rooted.
Nice Google , real nice....but hey, at least the press got a chance with it. You know, the ones who didn't even pay for their devices.
I am thinking more or less that the Froyo release is coming closer if Adobe is sending updates to Flash beta.
Okay seems if I goto FB full Site and play one of my HD videos itds much faster and the frame rate is still choppy but much better than before. If I toggle off the HQ button the video runs smooth. Also noticed if you double tap the active Flash window the full screen in portrait mode works now as opposed to it intermittantly working on certain websites. Other than that I dont see any sign of hardware acceleration as I tried a flash based game Happy Aquarium and it was just as slow as the previous version.
Well Adobe broke it for me. Now when I go to , for example, TBS.com, and select full episodes, when that page loads the audio is all choppy and breaks up if I try and move the page at all. I deleted the updated version and reinstalled the old version using Astro and it works fine again. I load the updated version, back to messed up audio.
I see this flash update.
I now have this flash update.
I wonder if this is what was holding back Froyo.
I'm using the prerooted Froyo rom. The download failed to install. Can someone pull/copy and post the apk. Thanks
NEVERMIND I FIXED IT.
It's a little smaller in size...
mine failed to install too. had to uninstall the last version then reinstall. overall this is a great update for usability. long-press actually brings up the fullscreen button now, it didn't before. not for me anyway. the doubletap to zoom also works consistently.
After applying the maintenance update to my EVO, and a few others, we are now having issues with most (not all) sites like CBS, etc. where the audio is playing like it is slow motion, but the video is fine.
I am not rooted, so I am trying to find a solution.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Adobe just released an update in the market, which appears to have fixed the audio issue.
whats the version number?
The version that fixes the audio issue since the MR is 10.1.95.2.
you have to download the hulu flash. worked for me.
i dont understand how you are just now seeing that update...i got that update almost a month ago?

How do you get it to work correctly in the browser? I get an arrow and have to click on it for it to load, but still not always loading correctly. thanks

are you comparing to 10.1 or leaked 10.2?
I'm pretty sure he means the market version. It says 10.1, but when you update it, it says 10.2.
I downloaded 10.2 on my HTC desire as well. I don't know what is wrong but it's a destruction for my phone. Fullscreen videos on YouTube is a definitely no-go since it only plays a couple of choppy seconds and then I need to remove the battery in order to make it work. Watching videos in non fullscreen was a bit better since I could watch around 40 seconds of it until everything stuck.
It is just not working for me. Far worse than the previous.
Just watched an hour-long programme on bbc iplayer on my A70H which would not have been possible with the old flash. BUT, the sound was several seconds out of sync by the end which is not exactly perfect.
So, a huge step forward but we still have a bit further to go yet.
Having said that - I'm just watching some iPlayer stuff off the website on my iMac and that's getting out of sync too, so maybe it's not anything to do with the tablet or Android!
Aaarrgg! Now I can't install even the leaked Flash 10.2!
I had no trouble uninstalling the leaked 10.2 on my A43 and then locating and installing the official Flash 10.2 from the Android Market. A piece of cake. Not so good on my A101. I uninstalled the leaked 10.2 and then went to Market. I couldn't find Flash 10.2. So I went to Market on my desktop PC and found it. It then refused to install it claiming it was not compatible with my device. So then I tried a few other things like clearing the market cache and the Google Framework data. BAD IDEA! I broke Market. So now I installed the gapps 5 final and I have market back exactly as before. When I try to install the leaked 10.2, it errors out, so I installed the 10.1 I had from before.
So how do I fix this? I'd like to have the official Flash 10.2 and what's with Market saying my A101 is not compatible with it while my A43 is? They both have the same recent firmware.
Bye.
Why would they disable device check now? I've been with Netflix for over a year and I was annoyed with having to wait for the Netflix app. Now it seems the wait was for nothing. Unless I'm missing something they seem to have abandoned securring the app alltogether. Is this the case or did they find a better way while making the apparently available to all who could use it?
Also when i try to download the update i get an error that says Package file not signed correctly. All I did to get Netflix working before was to modify the build prop. Do I need to change back the build prop and maybe delete the old Netflix app first?
Uninstall it, and reinstall it from the market. Put your build.prop back the way it belongs.
Actually, you still need the modded prop to avoid squirrel voices...
Mine sounds more like whales sounding.
Except when it's turned off. Then it's messages from my neighbors labrador
I already went ahead and deleted and reinstalled the update but thanks for reminding me to revert back to my original build prop.
I'm still curious as to why Netflix had the change of heart. Or am I missing something. I was under the impression they couldn't release an app for all Android devices because Android didn't provide the security Netflix wanted. Certain new Android devices possessed a hardware solution and for those devices Netflix released an app. Then it begins showing up for most devices but wouldn't stream to the non supported ones. A solution is found somewhere in the development community. So Netflix releases this latest update which allows streaming on pretty much everything. Lol Why and why now? What changed? Anyone else curious?
Edit: this happened soon after I posted this. Now that Netfilx has forced the older version out of service, I just use the market version with no issues on CM 7.0.3 with ext4 OC @1200MHz. No chipmunk sound and no build.prop edits are required.
---
I use the device check disabled apk and I don't hear chipmunks or whales on CM 7.0.3 stable with ext4 OC @1200MHz. No need to edit the build.prop for me. Now if would only work on my Iconia...

Google just released the new update for Youtube app in Android Market.
After I updated the app on my Nook Color, running on CM 7 RC, I found that Youtube app failed to load any clip at all.
Does anyone have this problem? I also have Nexus 1 which is updated as well but doesn't have such a problem.
Any ideas? Is it possible to downgrade Youtube by uninstalling it?
** My Nexus 1 recently has a new Market app but my NC is yet not upgraded. Is it going to be a big matter for a rooted NC?

I have the same problem, it keeps loading and never actually loads the vids. So good thing i made a back up before upgrading. I cleared app data, wiped dalvik/cache and still a no go. It seems other phones are also having problems with the update. I
All these new google apps are messed up -_-

Working OK here; CM7 nightly (151).
Hmmm. I just realized that Google AD, which plays right before the clip, is loaded and played. However, the clip I touched in is having a problem: "There was a problem while playing. Touch to Retry."
In the moment the HQ button appears, unchecked it. Videos will play in low quality fine. Waiting on a fix.

Reading the rating comments for the Youtube app in the market, it appears that this problem isn't limited to the NC and is occuring on several other platforms also.
I have only been able to get 1 video to play correctly. While watching my router's status lights, I can see that the videos are downloading but all I get is the spinny arrow or the "Touch to retry" error.
I just noticed when I went to the market website that Youtube is now listed as not compatible. Adobe flash as well. Funny when you consider they are both part of the stock setup. It's pretty clear Google is blocking apps not so much based on the device but whether it is rooted or not. Question is, all rooted devices or only those with CM7 on them?

Same here I saw a new YouTube update on my G2, this morning, and when I went to update it on my nook, it wouldn't allow me to update.

Another thing I noticed with the Youtube update is the restriction of certain videos from being played on mobile devices. Luckily, I had a backup of a pre-screwy Youtube and market update sd image and things are running fine again.
It really makes me wonder what is going on behind the scenes at google to cause them do all of this.
Yeah I'm having the same problem. Reverted to a backup and it's working again. This is on the latest release candidate.
Sent from my Nook Color!
It's working fine for me. I even played a HQ vid with on problem. I will say that when I clicked on one of the front page videos it just sat and spun its wheels but when I searched for something it played without any delay.
What version of CM7 is everyone using?
I am running 7.0.3 and was having problems with the updated youtube.
7.1.0-RC1 here.
yeah, youtube 2.2.16 will not work on my nook, but works fine on my htc aria. not sure why
nook: cm7 n155 / aria: cm7 n162
Same here. Running cm7 rc1 off of sd card. Some videos ran fine others didn't. Revered to old version on backup.

Nightly 151 off sd card here. Everything working fine with updated youtube. Every vid I tried played ok.
Same problem here with YouTube 2.2.16 not playing High Quality (HQ) videos on the Nook Color running CM7. Those of you who say it's not playing anything, your YouTube app may default to HQ video. As soon as the video downloading spinning circle appears on the screen, tap the screen in landscape mode to see the toggle switch to turn HQ off for that video. The low quality video should load up after you turn off HQ.
Anyway, last night I remembered that in the early days of rooting the NC we had the same problem with HQ video in the YouTube app. I tried the fix for that old problem last night and it worked on 2.2.16. All I did was sign out of my YouTube account, force stopped the app, cleared cache and data, and rebooted the NC. After reboot open the YouTube app, accept the TOS, and it should work. When everyone had this problem earlier this year, it would sometimes come back and we'd do the routine again to make it go away. I don't know what eventually solved the problem last time (an update fixed it?), but maybe the same behind-the-scenes permanent fix will solve the problem with 2.2.16.

Tried this - some videos are playing now in HQ but not others. Strange. For example I selected one artist and two of her videos would play but two wouldn't. After rollback to 2.1.6 they all play.
When I have a situation like this where the updated version of an app works much worse than the prior (Skype, Okcupid notably), I roll back and then use Titanium to force-detach it from the Market.
Even if there wasn't a problem playing videos with the new update, I still would roll back to the previous version.
I find it irritating as hell that this new version of the Youtube player has incorporated the "do not play on mobile devices" block on some videos. I did not like this "feature" on the Youtube Ipodtouch app and never could figure out the reasoning behind it.
