Hi
I do own a 43IT
I love it pretty much
After some reading installing the SDE and custom firmware looks like a good upgrade.
but with the loss of the warranty I would like to know what I would get
better performance??? (ext4, swamp, ...)
root access?? (will allow me to what?) (ok ive read the thread about this
how is the stability after this upgrade?
still support flash?
Should I wait Uruk droid 1.5? (how long?)
battery usage? (atm the usage is pretty amazing)
I just wish to know what I get for loosing warranty
Thanks

1) Depending what os do you use, with urukdroid and siberes kernel there is huge performance boost
2) Depending what os do you use
3) same i prefer urukdroid
4) of course
5) you can use the beta3 of 1.5 it is very very stable
6) depending what os do you use and what do you do(overclocking,modules,brightness,bluetooth,wifi,...)
It is the first step to a better device!
Aye - agree with lenn - I like urukdroid - on the other hand u should rly know if u need it.
A warrenty void also is bad in several points as some archos devices have frequently problems.
I can't say anything about the 43IT but some archos 101 have problems with:
- dying USB ports
- failure of backlight
....
just what I read about it here.
Anyway as I bought my 101 secound hand I didn't care as i never had warrenty and use Urukdroid
I rly would say - unless u really need some special feature, mass extra space on data partition, or getting bored by you device speed - stick with stock fw (the latest FW 81 isnt that bad in speed either in my opinion - compared to previous ones)
Well 1 last reason for Urukdroid: if u are a playkiddy who always needs the best biggest and greatest like me and propably lenn,.. (sry lenn ) u HAVE to go with urukdroid

doesn't matter if you have installed SDE or not because it's not related to the hardware issue, Archos will replace your device anyway.

Hi
I did insall UrukDroid 1.5
work good most of the time
but then I tried to follow that guide about the soft button
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1114069
I did setup adb and ssh (from urukdroid its easy that part)
both way when I try to execute reframe.sh it tell me permission denied (yes i have made it +x)
I have cat the script and executed manually each step
After the reboot it seem to be unable to boot and stay stuck at urukdroid loading screen.
I have to reinstall it to be back on track
anyone know what I did wrong?
Also it seem any camera app stop working
can t use the camera??
any tips on that?

You have the 43 right?
on urukdroid 0.7 there was a bug with the hd camera.. sometimes also on 1.0
Reinstall uruk.
Or if you are on 1.5 just reboot on first boot noone of the cameras (all models) dont work

UUgghhh..... was this necessary to add a thread like this in the development thread? Builds run different for everyone so you have to try them out yourself. I havent had an SOD in atleast a month so you might be doing something wrong.
My advice is use the search at the top!
Pointless............
Try a new radio, worked for me
Try changing your radio and rom and then use newer android builds...

Well your on T-Mobile to so you can try the setup in my sig. Best setup I've found.
I also get many freezes on TMobile HD2 only if i m using Sandisk 16GB memory card,
Whenever i tried booting android from 2GB Kingston, it boots faster and runs without any SOD
jst it restricts the content capacity :/
I haven't had a SOD in over a month.
Using 2.14 radio and VBN WM rom.
I've used about ten different roms during that time and I've been using various EVO kernels during that time.

YES, I think sigs are important if they want help in the forums. I think sigs should be mandatory... or atleast include the setup with the question.
Signature is not signature anymore, people use it to show off, advertise....
*Update Radio
*Do a Task29
*Read What the Builder say about the build and what Rom he recommends
*while Reading BACKUP your SD Card and Reformat it
*Download the build & Transfer it to your sd card (whatever method you use on how to transfer your file from sd reader or direct connection to phone ALWAYS RESTART YOUR PHONE before running android.
*After first boot Restart your phone again*** (i always do this when i see the lock screen, i dont do the "setup phone" first

RusMod 1.19.
Added:
CBW kernel and some build.prop changes.
This is mod for russian users(was so.. unitl now)
Now i wish to give it to you.
About it:
Well, i can copy page from Khal's rom and say - it all there.
If we get something here, that gets to RusMod.
It's fully stock(i hope so, cause we have so many changes... =))
How to install it:
If your rom based on Dexter rom than there is a chance that you will only need
wipe cache and dalvik-cache.
If not - you should wipe all data.
After restoring rom from nandroid apply patch, because russian version of settings.apk and phone.apk have some changes for russian users.
Well, that's all.. i think =)

BTW: i recommend to use software from Go Dev Team like Go Launcher Ex, Go SmS Pro and e.t.c. It really good and opensource =)
Much appreciated... will try out shortly
Btw, is there gingerbread theme for this ROM? If so, where can I get it? Thx
Nope, gingerbread theme not there.
After framework upgrade in RM 1.16 themes are in reworking.
Okay install success... gonna test out for a bit and see how it is. Btw you have lightXt pre-installed over this: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.coreaaosi.afroid&feature=search_result which has more features, better look and a widget... (and doesn't require root)
Also, I switched language to English but there's something in my notification bar as ongoing but I have no idea what it is. That's in russian and it has an American flag next to it in the status bar and clicking on it takes me to some settings that's also Russian... any idea what that is?

As long as the framework-res folder structure matches Moize7Ae's MM patch it should work. You could also try ZipThemer.

Afaik there is some program with name metamorth.. it's changes phone theme...
Metamorph works "live" on the phone & when it themes framework-res it will reboot the phone & with owq's morph I think you have to run through MM a second time to get the white clock color. ZipThemer takes the morph & builds an update.zip (& an undo.zip for when things go wrong). So you create the update.zip (I use HTC Edify Generic update script setting) make sure it is in the openrecovery/updates folder, boot into OC & apply the update.

Hello fjfalcon,
Can you please tell us what are the advantages of this rom over stock 2.1 or miui?
Will it increase free RAM, rom space, snappiness ? Any disadvantages over the stock roms? Is the haptic feedback as strong as the original stock rom?
first sorry for being a noob on this things..
i got a wildfire A3333 with android 2.2.1 running on it..
my question is..i want to root my phone..its possible? what should i do first? do i need to check anything b4 starting to root it?
and again..sorry being a noob :'( please help me!
You have to get S-OFF using Revolutionary. Don't touch Unrevoked, because its not needed and will not work. You can refer the outline of the process here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318
after i doing this S-off stuff, its means my phone is rooted and i can run livewallpaper?
No. You will have to install a ROM which supports it. (Which can only be done after getting S-OFF, so its unavoidable)
Just a word of caution - Live Wallpapers immensely slow down the Wildfire, except a few ones.

except a few ones? didnt get what ur means buddy..
There are just a few I personally have tested which doesn't seem to slow down the phone as much as others.
- Starfield 2D
- Solar Wind
- Pixel Rain
- Nexus Like Live Wallpaper
There are probably more out there, but, with the above 4, slowdown is minimal, atleast for me.
ok last question here..
what is the different between rooted and unrooted wildfire..also the advantage of doing this root things :S
Advantages are potentially plenty. You can:
- Install Custom ROMs, including ones with Android 2.3.5
- Remove System Apps from ROMs you dont need
- Live Wallpaper Support
- Proper Apps2SD Support
- Many Root only apps like Titanium Backup (App Backup), SetCPU (Overclock CPU) etc.
In a nutshell, thats about it. There are quite a few more, but I'll keep my post short.
Obviously, none of the above things can be done without rooting your device.
ok many2 thx to u @3xeno..
do u think this stuff easy to do for a novice like me? i really wanna do it..but afraid will broke my wildfire >.<
I would say yes. Everyone is a novice when they start off, so, don't worry about it.
Besides, I would say the process is pretty safe (and easy - Its literally 1 click. I remember the process when Symbian S60 V3 had to be hacked. It needed a digitally signed certificate from an authority!) as well. Haven't seen any brick reports yet. Further, everything is reversible, so you shouldn't have issues claiming warranty in the future if the need arises.
Cyanogen Mod 7 <<-- what is this? i have read it somewhere.. :S
Cyanogenmod 7 is an 2.3.5. AOSP (android open source project) Rom, very fast and stable but it has no sense UI
Edit:It has some problems with GPS and Bluetooth file transfer but i think that can be resolved by flashing a new radio image

Well I don't know, because when I flashed it i didn't notice any problems except for the Bluetooth. But It's not the same for every phone.
Anyways no major problems, and I recommend that you do a nandroid backup before you flash any Rom just in case something goes wrong.

No need.
You can use a swap file too.
Besides, it's not really measurable if it's going to reduce your sdcard lifetime, and even if it does, who would want to have an sdcard for more than two years.

ASUS and some other HC ROMs have had screen-shot built-in for awhile right from the factory (hold app history button down etc.) I don't think you had to be rooted, but I could be mistaken since these were custom ROMs I was using and was always rooted.
ROM Acer Iconia Tab A500 EV032_A200_0.003.00_WW_GEN1 - HC 3.2.1
Base http://vache-android.com/v1/index.php?site=files&file=119
Add root & flexrom app
For overclocking use kernel 3.7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1170319
What it does not have :
-Rear Camera
-Dolby Mobile
Only for test view
No continue.
Download: http://www.multiupload.com/WBY5J9S98W
To install only through CWM on A500
Thanks for that, will give it a go fguy.

Ah okay, my bad, didn't think they had it.
acer did good job!
A200 is 3.2.1,and A500 is only 3.2?
Is this ROM in development?
How is it functioning so far?
It does not have back camera as in the a200 does not have one / and / or this ROM does not have it?
Does anyone have a list of bugs in this ROM?
I would love to test when I get home, want to know if it's worth flashing!
PS Love the lockscreen!
Damn, I get to the Acer logo, and nothing. Just sits there.
Without having checked, I'd guess that most "H/W not working" problems are simply missing drivers (i. e. we'll have to wait for Acer to fix them or reverse-engineer existing ones -- which I'm not going to try as it tends to be one huge pain in the ___). Other than that, I guess this ROM is fairly stable with minor glitches in the UI and framework (most leaks are, I haven't tried this one).

The stuff that doesnt work seems to be because the a200 doesnt have it, ie the a200 has no rear facing camera so this rom has no rear facing camera. In a sense its missing, but for what it is the rom functions fully. I'm actually shocked to see this thread, i didnt know this was posted on XDA and found it elsewhere about a week ago and have been using it as my daily not realizing it was a leaked rom (rookie mistake not checking the thread date for the other forum that had it) and I actually like how smooth it is and feel like its just as stable as the stock a500 rom. Then again, I dont extensively push my tablet to the limit, I do my budget/check book, play around online and occasionally hook up a ps3 controller and play some SNES so maybe someone else should comment on the stability of the rom. Only problem I can find is I hear the latest market is 3.4.4 and this rom seems stuck on 1.1.0 and I cant figure out how to get the market all the other roms had(it has the market I had when I pulled this thing out of the box, not the one that came when I updated).
