stock nexus s AOSP 2.3.5 rom with minor tweaks try it out pretty impressive
I've never had any experience with these roms first hand, but from what I heard Bugless Beast for Droid is pretty good. I'm always open to trying a new rom Welcome!
to be honest this is the fastest rom the nexus s has seen without overclocking.
remember this is still in beta.
just report bugs dont complain

This is literally, word for word, copy/pasted from the website he linked to in the OP, and his response to your first question...
I am pleased to announce that I am now supporting the Nexus S 4G as well as the Droid. This ROM will be released alongside my Droid build titled "GPA17". Until then you can find it in "nightly" form in the following directory: http://wonderly.com/bb/CRESPO4G/ROM/BETA/ (choose the latest file)
Some features include but are not limited to:
180 degree rotation
Overclockable to 1.4GHz
Voodoo support
Updated wifi driver
CPU Toolkit
FLAC audio support
Native 3G tethering
Ad-hoc network support
Facebook sync
Reboot option
Modified widget picker
There are also many performance tweaks and bug fixes which you can find change by change on my github. For those of you who run CyanogenMod, now that I support this device I have began submitting patches to help out. In the future I plan on supporting the other Nexus S variants (T-Mobile & AT&T) as well.
Recommendations:
Upon initial install of this ROM, please wipe data and cache. When a new build becomes available, you will only need to wipe dalvik cache. For the best experience, stick with the kernel provided in my build, I assure you it performs very well. If you are interested in saving tons of battery life, downclock to 800MHz in the CPU Toolkit, you will see little to no difference in performance.
Sorry this post does not read well, I am sick at the moment and not in the proper mindset to write.
really not hard to figure out what ROMS are for our phone the 2nd link is only for our phone is even says CRESPO nnot CRESPO4G

New user here, I'd just like to say Hi. I'm usually on the Moto Droid forums. Just got my Nexus S 4g today and I LOVE it.
Rooted running CM7 Nightlies.
I just had a few questions
I understand this phone cant do 720p. Is there a hack that can?
Does RenderFX help battery life? if so, which setting?
What are some roms/kernels you suggest?
Also, ill be working on some Themes for the Nexus S, (I'm a theme designer).
I usually make themes that make the phone look like another phone (iPhone, x10, Atrix 4G)
I'd also like to thank XDA for providing such an active user-base.
Think of a theme and ill try to make it, Thanks
Best battery life rom I found was oxygen. I thought I was going crazy because the battery life was so good. Its great plus you can download voodoo and it has netarchy kernel. Plus its aosp more than stock. Miui is most beautiful theme rich rom but battery life sucks. Cm7 was OK for me just kind of buggy. So I stuck with oxygen. Oh and nope...no camera hacks yet. No HD video or zoom. Sorry.
Hope this helps

For my TASTE, I like decks 1.3d since I had the least amount of issues with, none really. The kernel I have had the best luck with is Matr1x 6.0 cfs. I like the fact that it has voodoo if needed, bln and bld now. Since I updated to 6.0 I have had no lockups or reboots period. I don't change the speed or volting just the govenor (sp). They are smooth together. But for what its worth phones might not like the same thing as another.
I have tried just about every rom on xda for the ns4g.
Decks
Miui
Ice and fire
Stock rooted
Oyxgen
Kings
But I don't want to try cm7 as to battery life when I get well over 12hrs of use daily and no nightlys cause it seems like something is always broke. No offense to either or anyone, just what I prefer.

Great Rom, how do I get the battery icon you are showing on page 1?
Oh man! Sense 3.0?! I think I might just have to flash this on my phone. Lol
Edit: So flashed this Rom and looks great. Love the lock ring. But why can't I use the android keyboard? It force closes when I change it to that input. Also battery percentage? Not showing either? I did a clean flash. Wiped everything and install seemed to have gone through just fine.. anyone else had any issues? Thanks in advanced.

Thanks for the fix. What about the percentage for the battery? Is it not on this one? Or is there a setting that needs to be messed with?
Thanks again
OK, so I've been running this ROM since the day it came out and I completely love it. The theme is fantastic, the battery life is amazing, and it's pretty darn smooth. Even though it's tough to find fault with the build, I will offer up the few issues/requests I've experienced over the last week or so (prioritized).
1. I can't install different kernels. I've tried Ziggy and Imoseyon(sp?)'s latest, and each hangs after the HTC screen.
2. I get FC's on D7 Reader and Dolphin Browser. They're few and far between, so it's only a minor inconvinence. Plus, I have no way to confirm it's ROM related.
3. There's a slight overlap in the header of the Mail.apk (where it says All Messages). Obviously very minor.
4. I'd like to see a flashable zip to disable the volume rocker wake; I know most like it but I use Widgetlocker so it just wreaks havok in my pocket.
5. Would like battery percentage and removal of GPS icon.
6. Can we add some ability to modify the quick settings? I personally don't use Power Efficiency and would like Brightness Level and Flashlight integrated.
7. 7 in 1 and 4 in 1 Power and Reboot menus.
8. Every now and then Exchange has issues syncing. It repeats syncing over and over until I reboot. It's only happened a couple times, and may HTC's issue, not the ROM's.
Like I said, I love this ROM and can't see a reason to leave it (unless someone gets data working on ICS). The above list is just some personal desires. Notice that I haven't said anything is broken or sluggish or ugly. Again, this ROM is great and I'd recommend it to anyone. Thanks for all the great work fkfmfz, I'll be donating shortly...

I currently am running liquidsmooth 3.2. I just found out that the thread for that ROM has been closed as per OP's request. I would like to switch to a different ROM but based on current choices, I don't know which one would be the best for a daily driver in terms of stability and performance. You advice would greatly appreciated.
Carbon rom is made by many off the devs from Liquid
Bionic Rom is pretty stable , basically stock with bionic patches for krait.

If you want something close to stock with some nice additions that add to the ROM I highly recommend MMuzzy. It's stock with the addition of clear all button for recently opened apps, T9 dialer, customizable quick settings, enhanced power menu and the addition to determine between H and H+ speeds. Other than that it is stock. But a good start for a first time ROM.

First of all, congrats on the build. It's running much better than I could have hoped for, and I haven't seen a bug so far.
I'd like to let you know that the application I mentioned in the official CM thread a couple of days back runs properly on this build. I haven't had time to compile a proper test app for you, so I'll just throw the APK in here if you'd still like to test it. I'm suspecting it's an issue on 4.2, but I haven't had access to another 4.2 device so far. If you'd prefer I post this in the official thread instead, just let me know.
Anyway, the APK can be found here. The included fade animations turned out to have no effect on performance, so don't worry about that. The mere presence of the two backgrounds causes the application to grind to a halt, I noticed it in another app as well.
