[Q] Features from CM7 in 2.1? - GT540 Optimus General

It is possible to port some "features" from CM7 to 2.1?
I want to have black sms background and status bar at the bottom without using apss (to save RAM). It is possible?

Possibility?
I think it's possible, you could try to replace the status bar app (I'll check if I have it). But I don't think you could have it at the bottom as it's a part of Cyanogenmod Settings.

[Q] Transparent pull down status bar w/android in corner

I am running the Iced glacier v1.1.6 and The pull down status bar comes transparent with and adroid in the corner that says "Iced glacier". I flash a battery icon w/ animated satus bar icons and this took away the transparent pull down bar. anyone know how to add this back without losing my battery mods? Thanks
I have an image, does anyone know where to save and name it? Anyone?
You have to edit the framework-res.apk. Replace the statusbar background (and presumably some other png/jpg) in your current one with the one from a stock Iced glacier. I cant remember the name right off hand (it should be statusbar_background.png or something like that) but perhaps someone else can chime in the specifics

[Q] Expresso bar ?

Hi I'm looking for an expresso bar mod for my desire, and so far have not been able to find one, wondered if anyone can point me in the direction of one, if one exists that is, and yes I have used the search feature extensively.
The problem is I'm looking for one that just changes the bar on the home screens and a matching straight lockscreen bar, not too bothered either way about the notification screen, but don't want to change any icons on the notification bar as I have already used the circle battery mod, and would like it to stay the way it is, also needs to be for a 2.09 rom base, and no colour mods, I wan't the button press colour to stay at the standard green, not bothered wether it's skinned in the black or carbon either.
Would be very grateful for this indeed, been looking for one for months on and off now.
search for 'BrightSilence Espresso' and you'll find one of the best ones (IMO) or failing that you could use HElauncher from the market as there is a Slate theme, which is basically Espresso but no Sense Widgets...so it depends what you wanna do really
Hope i helped somewhat

displaying the status bar could also be an option in your launcher.. depending on which launcher you use. in ADW Launcher EX it's under UI settings -> screen preferences.
as far as the rest of the apps, most roms have a pretty good list of the apps they include. I personally have no experience with combining roms.

Changing the text color of the top right + home button

I really don't know the terminology, as I'm new to Android, but I'd like to change the color from light blue to a green at the top right (where it shows the battery, wifi etc.), how can I go about doing that? (I'm rooted)
Also, the center button at the very bottom of the phone, that brings you to the apps (circle with dots inside), how can I change that icon? I have Nova + MIUI icons, but I didn't see it in there.
Any help is appreciated!
I was able to change the launcher icon (Nova had this built in, just touched and held the icon to change it to whatever I wanted).
Still trying to figure out how to change the status bar icon colors.
Those colors are baked into framework-res.apk. What you need is either a ROM that supports themes or an themed ROM. Alternatively you could try the Ultimate Online Theme Kitchen, but I'm not sure if it supports 4.2.

Actually just tried editing one of those files and putting them back on (systemUI.apk). It crashed, then when it rebooted it worked (image changed).

Semi Transparent Navbar + Status bar?

Hey guys, anyone know of a way to get a transparent navbar and status bar like the one in this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1882394 I'd rather not switch roms since I like CM so much. Does anyone know what I need to mod in systemUI or wherever to get this to work?
Edit: meant to post in Themes + Apps
+1, I too would like to know how to do this. I am on rasbeanjelly and unfortunately there's no option here.
Go for JellyBeer, its based on cm with a bit more customization, I have flashed it today, and I love it!

It's generally an option built into ROMs. Paranoid android and aokp definitely have it but I can't speak for others. I don't know of any mod that can attach this functionality to your current rom.
Just an FYI though, this will not make status bar/nav bar transparent for anything other than your homescreen. That is because only launchers draw underneath the status and nav bar so you can make them transparent to see what's underneath. No other app does this. No mod or rom will be able to make transparent for anything other than homescreen

I know. I just want it on the homescreen. It's not in cm, but there's code that lets other roms use it, so that means there is a way for a mod to be made. Or I could do it myself, I just need to know what code to input.
