Just an FYI the store update will install over the leaked version. I just got back from the store. Details are:
Android Version: 2.3.4
Baseband version: 12.52.60.25U_26.08.04.30_M3
Kernel: 2.6.35.1-g96de068 [email protected] #1
Build number: 2.15.531.3 CL82286 release-keys
There was one other guy there getting the same thing done actually. This was at the South Tampa store on Henderson if anyone is wondering, if you are in the area. Makes me wonder since the stores update installed, if the "official update" leaked a few days ago really is, because it seems like I shouldn't have had a problem loading that over the leak, I guess I'll look at the details of that. They just install it from the SD card and I believe it was PC101MG.zip file from what I was seeing him do. If it installed as an update all my settings should have been intact I would think. Maybe it wasn't, I didn't pay too much attention though. Now if we can get a root for it! Maybe there is I'll take a look.
Well while I was waiting I messed with the G2x and thought it was kick ass. Might upgrade to that in January, if something better doesn't come out. I wasn't crazy about the more expensive Sensation,
Bro the ota is meant to just patch 1.22.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
well I wanted the latest build and for some reason I couldn't get the downgrade to work for some stupid reason, and then get the update.

Anyone know if this will include the new kernel that allocates more memory to the system?
Multi-touch looks very smooth and working quite well. If only you could 'download' it directly instead of waiting for the OTA.
How does OTA update work on an unlocked phone on a network Google's not likely to be familiar with? My understanding is OTA's are typically pushed by the carrier?
If by some mechanism (that I don't currently understand) the OTA gets pushed to my phone, will it be a problem that I'm rooted and running a custom Rom?

coool thing about the nexus one is that u get the update as soon as it "hot out of the oven" on google's side, u don t need to way to tmo or whoever u have a look at it and possibly rework and pass it on to u guys!!
if anyone got the update if you could post a picture of the new build name and number that would be greatly appreciated!
You suppose the decision to finally include multi-touch in the google apps had anything to do with Stevo saying that "Do no Evil is Bullsh1t?"
I feel the Google Apple war heating up!
Here is the non-iPhone site. http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/02/nexus-one-gets-a-software-update-enables-multitouch/

Don't have a camera at work, but this is what I got from my AT&T connected Nexus One.
Model number - Nexus One
Firmware version 2.1-update1
Baseband version 32.24.00.22U_4.03.00.21_2
Kernel version 2.6.29-01117-g4bc62c2 [email protected] #1
Build number ERE27
does it support pinch and zoom then??? anyone??
Most of the time yes. It works in the gallery, maps, and to some extent in the browser (doesn't work on mobile websites, and doesn't reflow the page you are zooming).
It's normal for pinch zoom to not work on mobile websites.

More info please. What kernel, what ROM, what root did you use? I'm nice, but some people on this forum would eat you alive for leaving a post like this.
I'm sorry amigo - I know very little about phones - new to this world. I'm pretty good with computers though. I learn fast.
It's Kernel version 2.6.29
build number SPH-D700 ECLAIR.DI18.
Firmware: 2.1-update1
I used one.click.root.exploitv2.2.4 to root the phone. I haven't installed any other ROMS (Is there a place on the phone or within Rom Manager where it displays which exact ROM I am running?).

You're already on DI18, no need to update.
The build number shows you the ROM you're running
Ah great. Thank you.
I just recently picked up a dell streak. It's brand new with what I'm guessing it the latest shipped rom which is build number 15274 running android version 2.2.2
All I see is custom roms and reflashing back to other roms to root....blah blah blah...is there a way to just root my current rom and not have to flash a completely new one? I'm all for supporting the community, I'd just like to keep this as device as clean as possible and remove all the bloatware.

Download SuperOneClick v1.5.5 and root away. Dont forget to put your phone into USB debugging mode before rooting, its very important that you do that. Or just follow the steps in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925853 good luck.
Wow thanks, I totally skipped over that post!!! I guess from what I was reading I was expecting the whole process to be a lot more complicated.
Thanks a ton!
Anytime.

How come Dell don't push out the 2.2.2 version OTA to their customers?
I check for updates every day, but have just once received any. (2.2)
Their way of saying; "we just don't give a f*ck about our customers"?
You should have gotten that update weeks ago. It's been OTA for probably about a month now. And I don't know how much you've read, but a lot of what happened with not updating from 1.6 was probably AT&T's fault because they wouldn't okay the build (speculated). Dell had the source up for 2.2 for a long time, if I remember correctly.
I'm on unlocked stock EU ROM since day one. Just to clarify.
Do you mean the 2.2.2 was shipped OTA, for EU users too?
Ohhh. Didn't notice you were on EU. I don't know if Dell released one for EU yet (probably hasn't since you don't have the option to OTA). Just remember that it's not just the phone maker responsible for updates, the carrier has some say in it, too. Are you still on 1.6? Because you could always try out DJ Steve's ROM if you wanted to try something different.
No, the one OTA update I received, was the 1.6 --> 2.2 on last October.
Since then - nothing. I guess it's only in America people get the 2.2.2.
Thanx for taking time to reply.
No problem, haha. I hope you get it soon
I really want the update to, I'm in the Uk and I'm still on 2.2, I would do it myself but its just to complicated and don't wanna mess up my phone. Has anyone in the Uk got the 2.2.2 upgrade? And to be honest I really wont the 2.3 upgrade, but seeing as we still don't have the 2.2.2 upgrade, I think we'll be waiting a long time :'(
2.2.2?
If someone updated from 1.6, to the "non official" 2.2, is there any difference between it and 2.2.2?
2.2.2 is supposedly immune to the malware loaded from the 50 or so infested apps that Google removed recently from the market.
Hi, I've been using my Droid2Global and successfully updated to Gingerbread OTA.
I was so fond of it so I encouraged my girlfriend to get the Droid series,
and she got Droid Pro (apparently she is more of a BlackBerry type)
She's been using it in the USA for couple of weeks and then she brought it back to S. Korea (in Asia, in case it matters) (She is Korean)
and she's been using it for more than a week now and still hasn't got any update notification.
I understand it's been about a month since the release and it takes a while for it to reach some of the users.
I was just curious if everybody's got their updates (or at least an OTA notification even if you didn't want to install it)
Should I do something about it? or should I just wait for the update to come automatically?
Thanks in advance!
Which firmware version is it on now?
I wasn't sure what you were referring to, so I wrote everything I saw in her phone
System version
Version.3.8.6.XT610.Verizon.en.US
