This is my first post, so i have to write in general forum.
a workaround for the sms receiving problem is to install the app "sms popup" from market. for me this works great.
and i´ve found a bug when you receive calls. On every call there is the speaker on the back activatet for about 0.5 sec. and then automtically the front speaker works.
Thanks for this incredible rom!!!
I use handcent sms anyway so i dont think this bug is a problem for me, i would recommend handcent sms.

I've read some posts about lags in sms, but those were more related to the fact that, when sending to a contact with huge sms-history, the lag will occur.
I, and many users with dutch rom, have problems with sending messages to contacts, even without any sms-history. Messages will not send or i get a delivery report hours after i send the message. Even receiving messages is problematic. Only a soft-reset will solve the problem, but only for a few hours
Anybody an idea? Even better: a solution? It's getting really annoying.
A sollution could be disable the HTC Messaging and enable the "old" sms style like the outlook client.
The patch for this option disables mms, so thats not an option..
Maybee anyone who does know a better sollution?
I really never use mms, so thats a pretty good option for me, how could I disable the htc messaging ?
On another forum i've read this, but didn't do the job for me:
HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCMessaging\Compose -->string 'ExecPathName' --> change in 'Tmail.exe'.
I still want to use MMS, though is not that important. If it solves the sms problem, that would be nice. However, in my opinion it should work ok, even with SENSE on, so for now it's a nice workaround (if possible)
hehe thats the same solution that I tried from tweakers.net but also for me it didn't solve my problem
changing that registry string results in a not working button when ticking "More"..
well, because it's NOT WORKING
searching on internet i found this

OMG this RUINED the phone for me
You can download the new Skype app in Android Market!
I used skype and never liked it-try this software this worked for me sipvoipsdk.com
Skype works good on the Flipout, the only problem is that it doesn't set the screen orientation correctly.
yeah but did you try a voice call ? worked or you ?
tried skype, fring, nimbuzz none work... always the same problem, other person can't hear me...
Has anyone used any other SIP apps? I've tried linphone and sipdroid to use an SIP account my ISP gave me. With both apps I had problems. I could call fine, but when installed I couldn't receive any SMS, once uninstalled I would receive 10 sms at once...
I'm using handcent SMS btw,
Had anyone else had this problem?
I'm using CSipSimple with total success in Motorola Flipout
The CSipSimple is easy to config, just put the login name, password and sip address
In Brazil i"m using voipalobrasil.com.
it seems SIP works, but i doesn't replace softwares like skype, i want call computers not phones
i'll send a email to motorola
The latest spype works on the Flipout. I tried it today, and the test call records my voice (which didn't happen in previous versions)

It happens with me too. the test call records my voice, but when I try to call someone they can not hear me
Deep
Try holding and resuming the call (on both sides), that worked for me.

Hey AndiDeepBlue
Have you had any problems with receiving sms once CSipSimp was installed? As I have said before, I've been having problems receiving them when I installed either linphone or sipdroid. I could send sms (although it stayed in pending status but they would still receive my msg) and I would receive them once I uninstalled the SIP app, or sometimes just randomly from 5 to 15hrs after the msg was sent to me...
Haven't had a chance to try skype yet, will do that tonight, but I read on the skype forum that another way to make it work is to initiate the call when the keyboard is closed and then open it.
According to tekki
http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=725723&st=20&
...After some experimenting I found out that it seems to work if you activate your call with closed keyboard and flip out the keyboard afterwards. If the call is originated with open keyboard then the mic does not record anything.

Hm..... weird... tried out CSipSimple, and I'm having the same sms problem... also I noticed whatsapp was bugging as well, received a couple msgs like half hour later...
btw, I'm using handcent for sms.
Once I uninstalled, it would come back to normal...
Are you using any of these 2?
anyone else having this problem??

I did not use Handcent for sms.
I installed Skype from the Market. And I plugged the headset. Usually I have to play with the flipout to open and close, and also when activating/deactivating the "loud speaker" it will enable the microphone on headset/mic. This happened when I made a call to a fixed phone.
Yeah, Skype is great for casual social interactions with family and friends. But for business conferences, I need more security, so I use RHUB, which works from behind my firewall (instead of outside of it). It also provides free audio conferencing.
the stock sms app is kinda slow sometimes .
so i would like to know which sms apps are the best so i can try them out?
if you know 2-3 rank them so if i dont like the one i will try the other .
thanks !
1. Handcent SMS
2. GO SMS
3. Chomp SMS (haven't tried it)
handcent is just perfect . thanks
I do get the impression that both Handcent SMS and SMSChomp have a little lag time (with Handcent SMS the most), it's like they are almost to heavy for use on the wildfire. Aren't they other good programs on the market that aren't that heavy? Or is it only me that is experiencing that problem?
Erwin
my legend have an error on SMS.
I have sent a SMS to person A, and the SMS is also display on person A's SMS dislog, but after that , person B tell me that he received it, and person A didn't receive it.
does any body have this problem??
and how to slove it??
I've read about this in some news which says that it is a official failure by Google.
Sent from my HTC Legend using Tapatalk
Yeah i've been there too.
If you long-press on the message that went wrong and select info, then you will see what number the sms went to for real.
This started when I used an app (think it was SMS Popup).
Now I only use handcent and haven't seen this problem since.
Android bug. Nothing you can do really except if you use a third party messaging app. Wait for a fix from Google.
Thanks you guys help~~
Trying^^
hi there ,)
i just flashed my wildfire with openfire 2.3, worked like a charm, set cpu to 180mhz, still working more fluently compared to the stock rom.
but one thing i didn't get managed so far:
i know most ppl want a sms to pop up, and so does open fire. but how to deactivate it?
it's not in the settings of sms. i also deleted the sms.apk, ok, no popup but also no more sms ,p (seems chompsms, which i use, is just a frontend), so i had to restore the original again.
any solution on my issue?
thx in advance
try using handcent sms it work great, even without pop-up..
or atleast give a try to go sms, and deactivate pop-ups into settings!
thanks for your quick response...
as i am at work and can't conrifm myself right now (can't get onlin with my phone here):
are they both "real" sms apps or also just frondends?
(it seems, that i HAVE to kill the sms.apk, otherwise the popup shows up (i can deactivate sound, vibration and message, but not the popup ;/)
handcent sms is a proper sms app, instead go sms is just a frondends
ah, many thx, i'll give it a try when i'm at home ,)
you git it right,
hancent does the job, even with the look i loved with chompsms.
drawback: its way slower/not as responsive, but i can handle this better than anying popups.
again, thank you =)
