First of all, sorry if this topic is repeat; I searched one similar but I didn`t find it. By the way, I`m new in this forum
I've got a samsung galaxy S I9000 with 2.3.3 gingerbread JVA but I couldn't find any method to root this kernel version: BUDJVA . I've read the topic CF-root but no one talks if this method works succesfully on JVA version. I've tried with superoneclick and gingerbreak but didn't work.
Please, give me a method to root my phone!
Thanks for your answers and sorry for my english!

Thanx for this advice but i already tried with super one click 1.9 it did not worked.
and i searched for CF-root thread and there i did noy found JPJV6 kernel.
I am still in search of help.
Thanx.
Out of all the one click root programs that exist I found that SuperOneClick was the only one that was able to actually root my phone.
I presume you have made sure you have all the required prerequisites before attempting the root?
Hey,
So I got my S2 today and was hoping for some help with rooting it.
I have a T-Mobile UK S2 which came with Kernel 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKDD-CL161513 (Kies tells me I'm running the latest firmware). Now I wanted to install CF-Root so I could install CyanogenMod on my phone but I'm not sure which version to use. From what I gather I should be looking for a DD version of cf-root but there isn't one...
Just moved from a rooted HTC Desire, but using cf-root, Odin etc is all alien to me!
Thanks
EDIT: Wrong forum >_>, can someone move this to Q&A please?
Welcome mate before someone else comes on and maybe flames you it's always recommended to search the forums for any questions you have more often than not you'll find the answer you are looking for, if you still cant then by all means start a thread and people will be happy to help.

If you can't find a cf-root to work with your fw (check it out here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108) you can try to flash another fw on which cf-root works.
I hope this info helps you.
Cheers !
try Easy Rooting Toolkit - GT-I9000 edition
CF-root ftw Go for it.. Happy Rooting!

****sx, you won't be able to use DooMLoRD's or SuperOneClick method with OS Version 2.3.6. You need to downgrade to a rootable version first and then root and update. Follow this guide and you will have no issues at all:

Post #2 and point 1.3...that is what u have to do. It is easy and direct. Then u can revert to your current OS version and flash a CF Kernel...hope it helps...:good:
thx glevitan... i will post my experience soon
Hi guys
Ive just had my phone replaced and as a result I need to re-apply my root file,
My problem is I haven't been on the forum for a while and now I cant seam to find it.
I found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399 which would be fine, if i could work out what CF-root version I need for android ver 2.3.5
Could someone point me to the old thread with the root file ? ( placed at root of phone, 3 button & apply method)
Or
Could someone link me to the relevant CF Root file? (already have odin & thread above has everything I need to carry it out apart from the file.)
Also apologies in advance if Ive overlooked something or being an idiot, figured this would be straight forward
What's your firmware version?
Sorry I didn't really make it very clear in the beginning, Im using an Orange branded phone and i cannot find the relevant code for my build. I am still pretty new to all this having only previously run versions of Darky rom.
Here is the vital info :
Android Version 2.3.5 ( I read in another thread superoneclick is incompatible with 2.3.5 due to the boot-loader may be locking with gingerbread, anyone confirm this ? )
Bulild Number :Gingerbread.BVJVC
Basically I was looking to root my phone because I want to swap over to Hellybean & also purchase a few of the well known root apps ie CWM, Titaniam backup, These are so I can backup the existing phone in a reversible condition should it be needed later down the line.
I know I don't need to have root access to flash to Hellybean, but I do in order to make those security backups ill need root.
Anyone Help ?
The reason why you didn't find a CF-root kernel is, that the thread you found is for the S2. In the S1 thread, you'll find what you're looking for.
