My camera is'nt working very well.. - XPERIA X8 General

i've installed GingerDX rom [2.3.5] and it says in the thread that the camera is working.
when i turn on the camera, i see some weird colors on the screen[like green and pinkish colors] and when i take a picture it shows me a black screen and does nothing.
any idea why ?

It works on v005 and v006 just some camera-related apps are not workin well.

i don't have problems with taking pictures, works fine at 3MP but i do have problems recording video. It still has lag even if it says that the lag was a froyo problem in general.......and it lags a lot, like trying to play Tomb Raider 2 in a MMX with a 4mb pci diamond video card.....
E15a if it matters....

i've just checked the camera in the original rom [2.1 Eclair] and it seems to have the same problem. does it means that my camera is brokem ? or i can fix it somehow

You seem to have a broken camera, because it exists even in Eclair.

i dont have it, it was deleted when i installed the .zip file. the only thing left whas setcpu. but even tryed doing a full wipe and still happened.
i checked the files anyway and the only one i saw was x8uv.so but that's something else.

i said i already tried with that, but the lag persisted.
i thought it could be something to do with froyo so went back to SE's default and instaled the zip then wiped and the same.
this doesn't happen in SE's default, so it isn't broken.
one more thing, i still don't know much about how android works, i know it's based on linux, etc..... but what is it that lags the camera hardware or is it cpu related?

Pros (for me): Speed! Fastest i've seen of this build.

I currently don't have a data plan so i will have to figure out how to download apps and install them offline. I'll first need to find ASTRO online, but how will i install it without a file explorer? I am very new to Android, but i couldn't find any file explorer built into Android.
I am also trying to find info on exactly how to partition my SD card using the EXT2 method. Getting lost along the way... but learning as I go
Thnx for the tips and the excellent build!

just place the app in a folder called "AndroidApps" in the root of your sdcard and it will install on the next boot into android.

i tried to run on the vogue but i get stuck looping at the canibus screen ive ran other builds fine but cant get this one working
Had the same problem until I realized my resolution was set for 320x240 and density of 120. Changed to the correct resolution and lcd density and it booted first time. Also, if you're using another hero data.img you might get this issue as well.
so i booted this rom regular, without doing the ext2 backup, and it actually is really stable so far. it runs smooth most of the time. have a bit of trouble sometimes here and there on the home screen, but a very stable build. i love the red, kinda makes it looks like it was build-in on the xv6900.
this is a nice rom, i was wondering tho where i could get a package with the the lockscreen slider that is in this rom please

ok so i was just wondering wether this is just my problem or not, i work on a dairy farm so i tend to use my phone for an mp3 player up to 8 hrs a day , i have noticed a bug/issue with this rom and and sensehero 1.3.3 and zens 1.6 donut build and a couple of others ( sorry cannot remember there names ) that when playing music ( headphones ) and i recieve a phone call my phone firstly wont play a ringtone and then reboots lol, have done some testing and at the moment this rom HeroZenMagic--102309--system is the one im using as this rom dosent seem to have this bug. How do i go about narrowing this problem down, or better yet what is causing this issue and how do i fix it?
I'm stuck at the Cannibus screen too. 320x480 @160 using latest basefiles. (Non EXT2 or NAND), running from sd.

so has anyone that's updated yesterday done today's update?
Yeah, it showed up for me, too. I saw it was bigger and wondered what that could have added in to add 8mbs. It's just code and a few images.
Perhaps a full radio update, I believe people were saying yesterday only some parts of the radio were updating, specifically WIMAX.
i updated
i did the update...im not rooted, never was rooted. and it did not brick my phone. some of the applications changed possition in the "all apps tab" theres a new feature in the menu/settings/audio visual/image out-480/720p. the screen looks smoother overall. particularly in my home screen where the icons are theres a shadow back to the name of each the widgets making it look alot more smooth to the rest of the screen. touch control seems to be alot better when grounding...and will update on battery life since everybody has been saying its alot better aswell. theres also a option to lower the ringtone volume when moving the phone(relies on g-sensor) ill keep playing with it and post more

Recalibrate screen rotation Captivate.

If any of u have ran one of the Froyo ROMs and have used Setting>Display>Recalibrate to fix the screen rotation and then went back to 2.1 and had problems with screen rotation being wrong, I have found a fix for it.
Download Android Terminal Emulator (or any terminal app) the open it and type su(u have to use su or it will not work.)
Then type this into the terminal and press enter

If you want these changes to persist through a flash (And if you messed it up from reorienting with JPK). Flash back to JPK, rerun the calibration, put it on a flat surface horizontally (as the instructions tell you to), then flash back to stock. Your changes will stick AND everything will be normal again!

I found out what was causing my weird rotation problem. It was Voodoo's lagfix beta4. I installed the lagfix on its own after doing the 1.3 oriented kernel and that is what messed it all up.

Ohhh well that explains that The I9000 has different sensor placement hardware wise and as such their kernel is more or less designed to ONLY work with their sensor placement... that's why the I9000 reoriented kernel exists, it negates that difference by adding in the right values for the Captivate!
(Gross oversimplification, but thats the gist of it)
It completely ****ed up my sensor, it doesn't work anymore at all. Is there a way to reset it? I tried recalibrating multiple times with the phone horizontal on its back or its sides, disabling and re-enabling the sensor, but there seems to be no way to make it work...

Unless you did this through the JPK froyo build, simply reflashing your phone should reset you back to whatever values you previously had.
However, if you weren't having problems with screen orientation prior to running this utility... why did you do it?
Cause I thought it could fix the slight inaccuracy I've been experiencing since I got the phone, with the sensor reporting exact hotizontality only at 10°-15°. It was annoying in games.
I'll flash as soon as I can, thanks.

Galaxy S - screen problem

Guys,
my "galaxy s" has problem on the screen, I noticed that it becomes more evident only in a few programs / screens.
When I take a screenshot of the screen and send it to a computer or other phone the picture is normal.
I think the image is being "generated" correctly, but not being "displayed" correctly on the screen.
As an example I posted a screenshot taken of "sound recorder app", and
immediately below is a picture that I took with a camera to show how I am
seeing the image on the screen.
If you have any idea whats happening because I dont want to have to leave at service center and whait for days without the phone.
any ideas?

Mine does the same...
Let´s digg the web and find out what´s happening.
If you find something please remember to contact me.
That's new and I doubt its software related - reflash with stock rom and if it doesn't help - send to service for replacement (or fix).
HTH
Something like this happened to my old phone (not galaxy) as it overheated
never happens to me, i think its a software issue.
I flashed it whith different roms, voodoo kernel and the result is always the same.
I dont want to believe that it's a hardware issue, but at this point I'm losing my hope.
Looks like voodoo kernel
Either that or the superamoled screen has deteriorated.
My screen has burn in of the battery clock and wifi icons. Sucks.

I think that I can't apply this kernel (SpeedMod K13B) to the brazilian model I9000B, but as "theos0o" said it didn't solved the problem.
I don't really think it's faulty screens.
It's just a weakness of (current?) AMOLED technology.
Check this out:

I was looking at its screen when the colors changed and since then, it looks like the images I posted. It suddenly flicked and from that moment looks weird as you could see.

[HOWTO] Save Battery with better CPU Handling [2016/03/07]

What is this?
This is an app, written by me that configures the CPU governor and some other things to save a lot of battery, while have the system as fluid as possible. (Less lag and better battery than factory settings)
I also made some configurations available for the user.
How to get it?
You can install the app from Play Store - Redmi Note 2 Tool
Start it, and give it root permissions. Without root permissions the app will refuse to do anything!
You can use the values given by me, or change them. Either way you need to tick "Set On Boot" in the menu, and press "Save&Apply".
You need to enable Autostart for the app in MIUI security center.
Battery stats are in the next post.
Latest standard version.
11.5H without charging, WI-FI always connected, 6H screen-on, 1.5H gaming, the rest is FB, 9GAG, Messenger and browsing.
