Hi All.
I would like to know if there are any DAF roms of some of the newer roms available. I am not able to use CLK of Clockwork. (have tried everything with no luck)
I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this but hope that some developer will help me out.
thank you in advance

Ummm.... Use your head and your hands to search the NAND section. USE THE Search FUNCTION in Threads for "DAF".
Geez learn to use a computer for gods sake
www.android.hd2roms.com is your friend
Thread moved to HD2 Android Q&A and General Forum.
An expiring 1-day redirect has been left.

People without simple common sense are unfortunatley a majority on this site nowadays.
XDA has become a support group for people who dont have mental capacity to use search or read forum titles.
Hi Guys.
Thank you for all the help, and comments. I did search for DAF roms and i got one. But no one is creating them anymore so all the daf roms are outdated. I have tried everything to get CLK and clockwork to work. Have asked questions and did not getting and help.
Sorry for all the trouble. Just needed to know if someone is still making it or not. I did it as a last resort. I followed all the guides and still cant it to work.
thank you

Hello
I'm looking for some hints about the subject: how anyone can take a shipped, let me say, HTC Desire rom and let it work on HD2.
I'm not talking about doing heavy tweaks, modifications and so on... just to take a stock Android ROM and have it working on HD2.
I asked to some chefs and received some hints but It's not enough.
I don't want to think that this is a "secret" and I think would be great if some chef would share his experience/step-by-step instruction on how to do this.
As I said before, I think we could start just with simple porting of a stock htc desire ROM, just to understand all the steps. I think that further steps on how to customize and tweaks will be explored later and anyone could experiment itself.. but we need a basic starting point.
Some step by step instruction will be great like:
1) Download shipped rom from here .........
2) unrar it in linux folder
3) copy this folder, rename the other one, dowload this file, copy this...
4) execute shell command XXXXX
5) copy on your sd card
6) boot...
of course I know it's not so easy, but is just an exaple on what I ask here. I think there are a lot of other perople looking for this.
Thanks to any chef/dev that would to explain to our noobs how to get the "magic"
p.s.
I ask the moderators to keep, if possible, this thread in the Dev forum... this because we need help from devs here and in the Q&A forum it will be never noticed.
I came across this the other day that maybe of use:

Yes, I was pointed to that thread too. If you look at the end there are some questions I did. The problem is that is based on MIUI... That is already a custom ROM.
I think the better way to understand the process (not just do it) is to have hints on how to port a standard/stock HTC DESIRE rom.

Ideally the same way. In theory it should work...I never tried because sense builds (especially hd ones) are very laggy

Hello, I was just replying on the other thread to thanks you for the answers
I will try to follow your guide to port a stock desire rom (strange that are laggy for you... for me they fly...)
Anyway it's still something not clear about the donor files... If it's ok to take them from an already HD2 working rom or not.. but I will ask on your thread, avoid to make confusion
no one tip from the devs?
I'm start thinking that instructions on rom cooking for hd2 is like a secret
I've asked this many times, but as you said, no one seems to want to share this "secret"...

you can start with one of the hunderd rom that chefs already cooked. This thread is just to ask help with cooking a rom, you have not to wait.. you already can use android daily on your phone.
I have had success building with this guide but cannot get it to work with cedesmith's new initrd.gz. Does anyone have done tips on how to build with the new initrd.gz?

Did you cook a MIUI rom or a Sense rom or a stock android rom?
For the cedesmith's initrd.gz I was thinking the same thing.. maybe we have to ask directly to him.

Rafroid
Typhoon
best roms on xda. Really nice work guys!
But still, no one shares the "secret" I have tried several things myself, but it didnt work. Would really appreciate if someone could share how to port a rom to the hd2.
Yeah would be great if tyween and rafpigna let us know how they managed it, what guides/reference they started of on or if they have any tips for us etc
I totally agree, I would definitly cook my own rom if I knew how to...
Guys, I'm new here, so could you give me manual or guide how to install Android on HD2.
I didn't found thread about this, so i started new.
Don't you think it would be good to check at least the FIRST one thread in this forum ?

When i first joined this forum this time last year i didn't have a clue where to look for anything and was a total noob but i spent many hours reading various topics and was then confident enough to go ahead and flash my first WINMO ROM.
All the information you need is on this forum, you NEED TO SEARCH THE FORUM and you will find what you need.
Enjoy XDA
I'm understand your RAGE about new double threading. I used search, and don't found something useful for my problem.
I just don't have enough time to read all threads, i have two other phones on Android, and i need to solve problems there too.
Please sorry me, and if someone can just give me link to useful thread.
Thanks
It's not the matter of RAGE or something like this (maybe a little annoyance
I thought, that I was clear in my first post - just look at the first (sticky) thread in this foru, which is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915663
There you will find very thorough explanations of what should you do to have HD2 running with Android.
Question you must answer yourself first is if you want to have both Windows Mobile and Adroid (then you should look at Android SD) or if you'll be good with only Android running (then Android NAND). I personally use NAND version.

Thank you for this thread, excellent help. I have no experience......and this take me straight to the point. I'm in love w/ froyo now, its time to try out the new thing. This is great.
Thanks every one who answered here!
So I've been searching all day trying to figure this out. I'm pretty sure I got my HD2 rooted (everything did as it was supposed to, but don't remember it rebooting, although it probably did). The problem I'm having is I want to load an Android ROM, but it's so confusing? I managed to get my G2 rooted and flashed multiple ROMs on it, but this is a lot different, and every time I google how to install them, it'll give me the Android ROMs, but no instructions? I found one I'd like to use (really I don't care which one it is as long as I have Android Market), but I'm seriously lost as how to flash it. I've been searching all day, and I know you guys hate posts like this, but I'm in serious need guys. Any help will be appreciated.
Also, the G2 ROM was flashed through ClockworkMod in recovery. I can get instructions on how to flash other ROMs, but it says nothing about Android ROMs.. I just want to be able to enjoy my phone!
there are stickies on how to do this
download this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
install magldr then install CWM
download the zip file you want to install fromthe dev section and reboot intot he CWM menu and isntall
Thanks bro. I'm going to try it now and see if it works!
if i may...
the link given to you is a sticky in the hd nand section. pretty obvious to see if you open that forum, imo.
in all seriousness - what kept you from finding it? was it hard to find? did you not see the forum? were you nervous to try and use it? why did you feel the need to ask a how to question before trying something out?
i ask as your question is asked countless times and i am curious what xda can do better to get people information that is readily available. i am not trying to be snarky, rather learn from you as what we can do better.
thanks.

Agreed.
I too am curious as to why people either dont look first or just cant be bothered because that is what it seems like to me.
I just cant understand why people make topics like this when there is plenty of guides and sticky on exactly how to do it, It just seems a never ending circle of n00bs asking "how do I install android" and then people linking to the sticky/guide topics over and over.
Its even more surprising because these new users are given a video to watch as soon as the join up very clearly telling them to use search and read sticky/guide topics first.

You will probably have to download a stock wm 6.5 rom and use the flash from sd card method from the bootloader to bring it back to stock.

This question has been answered a million times.
All one need is to use the search function in this forum.
Alternatively a simple google search will also bring plenty of results.
Questions like these should be limited to the Questions part of this forum. Yet they keep popping up due to the ignorance of the newbs.

second used the search and couldn't find the answer before asking, all the posts links to factory roms were closed.
third i have been a "newb" longer than you have but im sure you have never asked a question when you couldn't find the answer!

if you want a sense rom with everything working Froyo build try CoreDroid 1.7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=926507
Otherwise if you prefer gingerbread sense
Sense of Eclipse works well http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1124757
as well as Pyramid http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075703
For a nice pure gingerbread no sense and cool theming try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1247295
download ADW launcher or GO launcher and u got an aweseme themed rom that rivals Sense roms
I used a very stable DFT froyo build last time and liked it, but that was awhile ago and sure things have changed!
I don't have any experience with the gingerbread sense? Maybe have to give it a try.
Whats the main difference?
off to google!
Thanks for any input!

Sense is an additional interface added to Android, which makes it more user friendly, has more options etc
try both sense and pure android you'll see the difference
so what spl should it be to look stock? "2.10.00.."?
wot

You really can't expect help whenever you ask for it, and if I knew anything about devving I probably wouldn't help you after that. Anyway, most devs don't pay attention to the Q&A section, so you're not likely to get too much help.

As the title says, I want to cook HD2 ROM since on every ROM I tried something was missing for me, so the solution is: I will develop my own ROM and share it here on XDA if its going well.
But, I don't really know how to start, I'm not a noob but not a developer either.
All I need is to know where to cook ROMs (I have dsixda kitchen and used it b4, but only for MAGLDR to cLK ports and some minor things, tried to cook with it but with no success, the ROM didn't boot, kerenl problem I believe...), I need to know how to start from scratch: grab base from somewhere, add / change kernels, add Aroma instalation etc.
The rest, tweaking ROM for example, I would like to know how, but too soon for now...
So please masters, help me out!

Well there are guides for dsixda kitchen, you just have to use the HD2 source code for whatever ROM type you want to cook (ie CM9 AOKP CM7 MIUI SENSE etc)
