hey! i just had a idea but not sure if it would be possible but maybe a dev could make it!
okay so imagine the possiblilities if we overwrote the hd2 bootloader and made it based on a original htc bootloader like the the desire for example? wouldnt that possibly make android tons better because first of all their would be no partion and the rom would know how much space to take and also improved boot time!
it would be like making the htc hd2 a phone made for android! Sorry if this is a stupid question! and thank you to everyone who has developed for the htc hd2!!
If you over wrote the spl in hd2 .. you would have KFC hd2

here you go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=709763, its only the launcher (which is the main component of touchwiz anyway). Have fun
p.s. i recommend using a stock n1 rom since people using this have had the most sucess with it
I think we have enough smart devs here to make it possible. It's only a question of whether they want it or not

Thanks for this, it's quite good.
i dont know.. The UI just seems very useless. It's like Samsung just wanted to be different and put something on top of Android. Maybe later down the road.. but I definatly prefer the devs focus more on Sense and Stock but TBH I'm just happy I have android on my HD2.
100% agreed Samsungs android customizations are total junk.
It's the screen the makes the phone, not the Android layout IMO, but taste differ.
Fair enough friend at work just got one and thought the layout was pretty good so just thought if u can then y not

Ok so Cotulla has released a couple of .nbh files. Does anyone know how I would use these to boot from nand?

They are for the devs to test not for the public to use...
Let's wait to hear from him first. He's been quiet for a while now.

Well he had posted on twitter sayn that we'll have a surprise from him in SEPT, may thats it..!!!
But still needs to be tested by the devs..!!!
Cotulla rocks..!!!
You need to use the bootloader MAGLAR first I wouldn't mess around with it yet
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
hope we would get it right now

Its on his website but nothing else, I think the loader is kinda useless to non devs without a build to boot from nand, but great news and work by cotulla

Million thanks to costulla
Yeh don't go messing around until there are instructions on how to use this new bootloader and the right nbh unless you might end up pricking the device from what I can gather seems like it runs over the native bootloader? Can't wait for nand

Really nice
From what I can see this is sence 2.3 Android RUU, it has to be ported to HD2 asap. Go guys make the most awesome nand Rom yet.
Edit: it's only 2.2.1, but still a build would be nice

2.2.....not 2.3
Is it Android 2.3?
If so that would be really great!

It has nothing really surprising.. same sense as seen on Desire HD.
Hehehe... Very nice... HD2 is not a normal mobile phone... like as our developers.
Anything new? Maybe some cool apks we can pull?
I would really enjoy a NAND version of this. I like the way this sense looks. They aren't major differences in the u.i., but there are some.
I like HTC Hub as well.
I saw this in the irc logs last day, that Mdeejay already cooked a build for HD2 and he said that the size of the system.img is 850mb in that Verizon's stuff is around 150mb which is not really good for EU HD2 Users.

TMOUS version
So has this even been revamped for the HD2 to use or is it just one that we aren't going to get? I remember when the DHD came out there was a rip for us within a week! OK, so it is a bit too big for the 512 version but I'm sure that some of us with the 1024 would love to at least try this. I know I am really curiouse as to why the system is so much larger that the DHD version of the ROM. At worst it would require a data image on the SD like so many of the ROMs have for the 512 to work on our 1024.
Now I'm no developer and I have no idea what it takes to get something like this working also I dont mean to come off wrong I was just curious.

The world is full of MOD EDIT: Swearing is not allowed - and you sir are one of them
I suspect the problem here is that the gingerbread based roms have advanced to the point that there is little tweaking left to do that will bring about any significant improvement and the ice cream sandwich roms are not yet ready for mass deployment and not yet available with HTC Sense due to it not yet having been either released by HTC for ICS or modified to work on other phones.
The best ROMs for the desire HD will arrive on this forum but we are just in a between place.

Oh dear oh dear.
Dev-lated thread
Whoa ITS DEV-RELATED.
Poor man, maybe you can get a refund from XDA.
Damn...
The treatment the OP is receiving here from well established members of XDA is nothing short of disgusting and makes me ashamed to be part of this forum. He should not have posted here his question but he deserves as we all do the be treated with respect. Since ICS has been released people attitude and respect for one another has deteriated to a point that is pathetic. Get over yourselves and grow up, you guys are so precious little soles, how can you be so hard done by and inconvienienced by new comers, xda is no longer an inviting place, rather it has become imtimidating.. Just my thoughts. Fire away you retaliation and taunts towards me as i expect to follow.. Cheers

So you want someone to dev it for you? Do you honestly believe that tonnes of people haven't tried already? But of course, someone will do it if you request it Also, off topic, that rolleyes emoticon is crap, doesn't look sarcastic as much as it does worried. Just to clarify, in this case it is indeed meant to show exasperation.

when noone compiles an new kernel we can forget sense 4. we are useing an old kernel most things are backported from newer kernels. And without sourcecode its even harder.
and i thank all devs who dont let our phone die!
