I am using the Stock JPS firmware with no Mod and want to know is there any app for Partitioning a SD Card? Please help me soon. I have a 8 GB SDHC Card and want to partition 2 GB for Apps.
Please See- I dont want to migrate to any custom ROM for CWM I want to stick to Stock JPS.
Also I want to know does the Stock Samsung Kernel support loop devices? Asking because I want to Run Ubuntu on my I5801.
Kindly reply soon. Thanks in advance. Waiting for reply.

You can partition using minitools partition wizard. And then you can use Kyrillos' App2SD v2 script to move apps to SD.

Any links for Kyrillos App2SD Script?

i don't think you can use app2sd as it needs a kernel that supports init.d scripts... Stock kernel doesn't so all you can do is:
1) switch to a modded kernel
2) download app2sd app (or somethink similar) from market to move apps to sd
However, i suggest to wait for someone wih more knowledge to answer.

thanks a lot..

Yup. You do need a custom kernel which supports init.d. App2SD script here.

thanks a lot but i have my work done.. Got a app on android market - root all to sd.. .I think it will work...

[Q] What's the relationship between Lagfix and data2sd?

I have read this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=937328
If I have lagfixed my phone, and I have a 1G ext2 partion in sd card, I have 1G internal memory?
Or I have to do something else in order to data2sd?
Thank you
No...you dont have to do anything else for data2sd
Adb shell df
check data size, if It's correct then It's working.
Can we incorporate the data2sd without the lag fix?
Sent from my GT-I5800 using XDA App
after i've lagfix.my internal memory didn't increase.??
Which lagfix did you trie?
Edit: If you want it easy, flash the apollo firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=978750
then download the sd partitioner from the same thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=978750&page=9
and then you have data2sd ^^

Hey Pauri..!! I know this might not be the best place to ask this, but, is the Apollo v 1.0 stable enough to recommend to people..? I mean considering that he asked us to wait a few weeks for his final release version... :/ just wanted to know that, cos m gonna flash it if its usable

[Q] [WTA] Newbie Need Help >.<

Hi All,
First of all, i totally new here, so please forgive me if i post at the wrong place, and sorry for my poor english...
Again, i'm new and newbie.. really appreciate for any help given...
I'm using HTC Wildfire as well but...
Now... most headache, internal memory full(is there any ways to expand it ? or install all apps to sd card?i saw my frens root SGS but internal software still din go to sdcard as well, its also maintain in internal memory)wildfire internal less while SGS 2GB ..><....
So.. is there any solution for this? i know root and flash might help but how can i do this? i read some threads around, but i not sure which to choose... or should i wait for official android 2.3? Will 2.3 solve my lag/hang issue? I don't know what is root or flash exactly, what can it do? any disadvantages?
Oh! and what is JIT? I heard it can make apps run faster! worth a try?
I don't mind and hardcore/heavy solution(need advance skill) as long there is a tutorial for me xD
Really appreciate for any help and advises ^^ TQ very much..
Firstly, if you are on official 2.2, you are not in a position to root, and, whatever guides are available to move Apps2SD, will not be applicable.
If you are indeed on official 2.2, you can use Froyo's inbuilt Apps2SD Feature. Go to Settings > Applications > Click Application Name > Move to SD Card. However, this will not move the app completely to the SD, and, for it to work, the app must support it.
But, if you are on Official 2.1, then, you can root and flash DTApps2SD, which can help move the complete app to the SD card, and preserve internal memory. If you so wish, you can move the apps cache also the SD, which means even if you have a 100 apps installed, your internal memory will still be fully empty.
Root Guide can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824396
Pretty easy to follow. Just follow it step by step. (NOTE: Again, this is not valid if you are on official 2.2)
DTApps2SD can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925982
All the required commands to run it can also be found there.
As for official 2.3, its unlikely there will ever be one.

yes, only the supported apps will be moved. But what do u mean by that sentence, "this will not move the app completely to the SD".
DTApps2SD, which can help move the complete app to the SD card

As u said this also moves the app cache to the sd card.
Is it like the complete movement of app includes app cache also, and is there anything else that it includes
Official android 2.3 update is unlikely for wildfire. As ur issue is to free the phone memory which is more likely to be solved with custom roms. So, why do u think of official updates. Remember those official updates will make ur phone unrootable. The 2nd post solves ur phone memory issue.
And u asked about jit compiler. check these links (sorry its not an updated one, and havent found any updates regarding this jit compiler)

As far as I've heard JIT does what it promises, but it is NOT compatible with HTC Sense. So HTC has disabled JIT, and the only way to enable it is to get rid of HTC sense and change some system files (build.prop?).
Things like throwing away Sense or changing system files requiers that you have ROOTED your phone. And that is, like 3Xeno mentioned, ONLY POSSIBLE if you have android 2.1.
Correct me if I'm wrong!

[Kernel]Dual Boot Roms - Kernel & Instruction Online

Hello,
I'm successfully booting a second Rom on my SD Card. Here is what I did
- Build custom ICS kernel. Source from SpeedMod K3-3
- Make a copy of current rom and put on SD card.
- Boot the rom on the SD Card using the custom kernel
I'm currently testing a function to switch the rom by pressing the home/or any key button during boot.
I'll post the kernel and instruction how to setup a rom on the SD card soon.

I'm liking the sound of this.....
Not sent from an I phone....cos I'm not a fanny.
heard that it's more difficult than on htc devices. nice though if u manage to get it working. looking forward to this, thanks!

Sounds good.

Update: Sorry guys, I've been busy, so I couldn't have enough time to write the instruction. It's very easy to set up with my scripts.
1. Install any ICS rom - flash the rom like you've been doing. (be careful about EMMC brick, please don't wipe using unsafe kernel, even if you are on my modified kernel)
2. Flash my scripts using CWM to copy current rom to the SD card.
3. Flash My modified speedmod ICS K3-3
4. Reboot
Please note that, this method only works if both roms are ICS. It will not work if you have one rom is GB and one rom is ICS. Unless, somebody can make a kernel that works for both GB and ICS.
I'm test couple of changes to the config file before upload the script & kernel.
wow great
please post some videos too
Looks promissing
A rom to be used on work and another to use at home *_*
Will the apps be shared between the roms?
Good idea, that's what I'm trying to do. I have a init script that you can use the same application file to save space. It's working on my old roms. I've not tested it with ICS roms. I got a lot of force closes when I try to share both apk and data.

Hey guys,im a long time lurker in this forums and i have to say good job on making these great roms for my galaxy y
Anyways i have a number question for this rom,its:[CM7.2][RC4] Reincarnation Rom Series v.6 Final 1 | S4 Edition
1.How to increase the internal memory of my galaxy y on this rom?i tried amarullz script but it just wont install on my phone(it worked when i used CM 11 and 9 though),i dont even know how to use a2sd and i dont like link2sd because it can only move apps to the sd card instead of increasing it.
2.Why is this rom's android version showed 4.3 jelly bean?isnt this is till on gingerbread since if it is,it would include a gapps?
3.Do this rom in any way, increases my phones performance?for example, running multiple applications at once like using a browser, calendar etc..etc?
Any help would be appreciated and sorry if this has been posted before but i cant find any post of these questions on the forums

1.I see...then please explain the 'other methods' because a 190mb of internal storage just isnt enough for me.
2,I tried both CM9(beta 5) and CM11(nightly),ive realized that even though it says android version 4.0.4 or 4.4.4,it can never really run any of the latest apps(force closes),i guess its because they are still in development?or is it because older devices just cant run the newer apps?
3.Mods?never heard of them,explanation please?
Sorry for asking again, and no offense for this but your answer isnt elaborated enough(sorry)

No have idea.
I do not know if you're asking about the contents of the ROM.
Just in case, I would like to inform you that the ROM should contain:
/system/lib/libexfat.so
/system/bin/fsck.exfat
/system/bin/mkfs.exfat
/system/bin/mount.exfat

You have not explained what you intend to do.
Do you want to compile ROM or make a ROM port?
If you want to compile a ROM, read the TeslaOS sources and direct the questions directly to Ground Zero ROMS Q&A.
