I see a bunch of custom Gingerbread ROMs in the development forum. However they all force you to use a custom theme that makes I find difficult to use.
Is there a Gingerbread ROM that keeps the stock TouchWiz and the stock theme?
I have long held the belief that themes should be developed separately from ROMs, but most developers appear not to have similar inclinations.
Revolution is the closest u will get to stock

I don't feel like downloading 10 Roms to test this out so I will accept and trust my fellow Xda members! Been using Cm7 based roms as my daily drivers but wanted to try a sense rom for once that doesn't feel like stock.

If you are looking for most stable and fully functioning rom I recommend virtuous unity 2.39. I also have a stock mysense debloated rom that is pretty much gingerbread stock. They both have decent battery life.

I guess I missed a "'s" in my sentence sorry I meant a Rom that doesn't feel like sense. Either themed or has alot of tweaks.

I'm using Mexdroid now, but wants to go back to sense to try the Amaze camera Tez posted.

Are you trying to screw yourself over? Jk but seriously, why would you want to go to a sense rom and have it have lots of tweaks, sense is slow enough already. What you should do is stay on CM7 or RoyalGinger and download one of the themes found in the themes section. If your bent on a sense rom, try using Infernosense, i haven't tried it yet but it looks really good. I myself use the DARKSIDE sense which is basically stock sense 3.5
If you want themed, HoneySmartDroid is definitely the way to go. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513894
Tweaks, go for RCMix 3D. The thread was deleted though....-_-
I ended up going to HoneySmartDroid and flashed the DD camera for now this will do till we get ICS fully functional

After years of looking up info here, I'm finally posting some feedback!
I've tried about 12 roms so far, and the best Sense rom out there, in my opinion, is Darkside Runny 2.2.
Let me know if you're looking for specific features/tweaks. I keep trying other roms, but have always reverted back to this one. I would recommend that format/partition your sdcard with the 3 recommended partitions (storage, ext4, swap file). Mine runs verrrrry smoothly...
Thanks Chicago T gonna try that Rom and see how it goes besides the Stock Sense rom I never tried Sense always had Cyanogen based roms so time for something new.
Don't take me wrong, I am not big fan of TouchWiz, but some of apps that comes with it I am kinda miss them on my newly installed AOSP JB ROM. I know we are talking about two different things here; TouchWiz ICS (Android 4.0.4) and AOSP JB (Android 4.1).

I would love to have this as well. My Files, eBook, task manager, and all the little mini apps. I would switch to JB in a heartbeat if the TouchWiz could ported over.
Is it not possible to re-load using titanium backup?

No. It is not. I already tried it does not works. and I learnt that someone said it needs TouchWiz framework to be ported as well in order to work. so simply copying them over does not works even if you place apk files in right folder with right permission.
For example, someone posted Samsung ebook apk with instructions, but when you use and try to import the book, it gets force close (FC) issue, so for me it has no use.
however, doing a little bit search, I run into this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1666384
so I am not sure if this can be installed on my AOSP JB ROM (Android 4.1)..

You are correct. It is impossible to get TW apps on AOSP ROMs unless you port the entire framework to the AOSP ROM, which is nearly impossible unless you are Samsung.

Can i install stock gingerbread rom on galaxy y...not touchwiz interface but with original android interfaced stock gingerbread rom...
?????

U can't do that....
I might be wrong

As alkesh95 said, it will not work. The stock rom SHOULD be of the original touchwiz interface. This is necessary for every Samsung device.
To be more clear
Our custom roms are developed from stock roms. These stock roms/firmwares are developed by samsung. Samsung modifies the source as per device requirement and also adds their own UI i.e. Touchwiz.....
Pure gingerbread is in nexus phones and they use it...
P.s. I might be wrong

So I've had this phone for a couple weeks now and i love it but I'm itching to flash a rom on my old school E4G I usually ran versions of stock Android roms but only cause that phone stopped at gingerbread but they are to plain and boring for me i like touch wiz and some of the features this phone has jus wondering what rom would be best to keep some of this but get a faster phone? And before someone says it i read tons of forums but recommendation is jus better to me

force rom is basically stock but with all the bloat removed. blu kuban is similar but with a theme.
I would recommend one of these if you want to remain on touchwiz.
I'm currently on force rom waiting for the new release of blu kuban to drop.
Blu Kuban for TW. Slimbean for AOSP.

I went with a deodexed stock i kno those roms remove alot of the bloat but some of the things removed i like so I jus pulled them from the rom myself thanx for the suggestions though

Hi! To everyone who customized their stock rom, Can you guys tell me what theme, scripts and tweaks you did to customize your stock rom? I want to know how or what you did to your stock rom or basically screenshots of your customized stock rom and a tutorial of what you did. Let's see who has the best customized stock rom. Sorry for using "customized" too many times.:laugh:
Deodex your stock rom first, and THEMING will be a piece of cake.

I have a deodex Dxlf1 rom and have CM7 theme installed. The objective of this thread is to see what your customized stock rom looks.
