[Q] Returning to stock after CM7 - Xperia Play General

first off, sorry this isnt in dev. i dont have the post count for it.
What do we need to do to return to stock SE rom after using the CM7 rom? do we need to restore the stock kernel with fastboot before using flashtool?
im asking this because currently with the CM7 kernel, flashtool just wont detect my play. i've tried on 3 different OS'. is this the cause or is it something else?
Thanks

Anyone? :/

First off, you did the correct thing not posting this in developent, questions like this should never be posted in developent, that section is for developers only
now, flash this system image
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1097591
and this kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14821537&postcount=17
This will return you to stock

Thanks.
The problem i have is flashtool wont detect my play, yet fastboot picks it up fine. im not sure if i've done something wrong, but since fastboot picks it up, i cant understand why flashtool doesn't.

I had this problem mate, you're not doing it right if youi're doing the same thing as me! To get into fastboot oyu hold the search key, to get into the flash mode, you hold the back key!

Hello
You can use your stock rom flash by you observe the following steps.
Flash Tool detects the r800i is not true.
therefore
firstly) Open Flash Tool and click on "FLASH"
second) pick the package that you want to flash -> R800i UK
thirdly) click on ok / flash and then you will appear on your phone the "BACK" button to connect with the computer should.
This program flashes the rom on the unknown phone (r800i)
Reboot and enjoy

Stuck At Sony Ericcson Screen! HELP! X10a

Hi everyone, I recently tried to install a custom rom to my sony ericcson x10a running gingerbread 2.3.3. I sucessfully rooted my phone and installed busybox, but when I got to xrecovery, i couldnt install it. So I decided to flash my phone to 2.1. 1. Drag the status bar downwards
2.Tab USB connected
3. Tap Mount
4. PC Companion will connect to the phone.
And without doing those instructions, it wont connect my phone and i cant do anything. Im like really new to all this and would really appreciated anyones input on my problem!

There may be some options using latest flash tool. You can download it from one of the threads in the development section.
I am presuming you haven't used flash tool yet. That should also install xrecovery.
Cheers,

Thanks for the reply, I couldn't find anything on the latest flashtool, i think something is wrong with my loader on the phone. But it wont let me flash a new one, i go into flash mode when it asks me and then it magically disconnects and aborts the flash. Is there any other option for me?
Thanks m8
EDIT: My bad for not reading the thread title properly.
Anyways, what were you trying to flash? Can you give us the log of the flashing process?

Xperia Arc S problem after rooting

Hello there, I have rooted my Arc S with this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1884958&highlight=wont+boot
After rebooting it stocked on Sony logo, now I can do anything more, It turn on it selfs, I cant shut down. The pc doesnt recognize it so cant flash other one which works...
Is there any other solution please help me. After couples of times trying to connect with PC, I have took of the battery and then none signal from the phone (Before it start it self). But when I try to turn it to recovery mode or connect with pc again the same problem, vibrate and stocked on Sony Logo.
Please anyone help. Will pay for it.
Just re flash some firmware through PC? I assume you've tried flash tool and that you're not using something else? Short if that there is also a Sony recovery program you could try...
Use Flashtool to recover.
ROMs are not for rooting, my friend. You also need to have custom kernel (for some of the ROMs), if you wish to install custom firmware/ROM.
You can use SEUS to flash the latest firmware to your phone provided you did not unlock bootloader. You can relock the bootloader if you have unlocked it earlier though...

[Guide]«FLASHTOOL»4 noobs

First of all...I just decided to make this guide for people that seem to run into the same issues as I did but I feel like its more of a pain to keep adding threads & waiting for a response...or searching thru different posts to get a different outcome you were looking for. So here is where I start.
Flashtool 4 noobs:
1. When you first install flashtool before you run the program go into the driver folder run install drivers... (Make sure that your antivirus isn't running & your phone is connected to usb.)
***only connect phone to usb while installing drivers then remove phone***
2. Flashing ftf files- Because there are so many ftf files out there make sure if you get one its the correct ftf zip otherwise you will get a SIN HEAD ERROR...
*{This error}*
"ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_STATIC="SIN_HEAD_VER";ERR_DYNAMIC="Failed to verify sin header";\00"
(if you get this error while flashing ftf its because the ftf file isn't made for your model).
To flash ftf put the file in the firmware folder of flashtool before running it. Start flashtool...hit lightning button... Select flash mode... Choose the correct drivers(also select flash drivers from bottom of box) then choose the ftf file you want to flash...it will prompt you to connect it in flash mode(green led) hold the back button while phone is off...then connect to usb... It will begin flashing the ftf file..done
***ONLY FOR UNLOCKED BOOTLOADERS***
3. Flashing kernels- In order to flash the kernel of your choice put the kernel.img in x10flasher folder. (make sure drivers are installed if you haven't installed them already). Then start flashtool... Hit lightning button... Choose fastboot mode... Select correct drivers & fastboot driver at the bottom of box. Menu should pop up. Select kernel to flash... Connect phone to usb in fastboot(blue led) turn off phone...hold search button & connect to usb...it will start flashing...done
***once you've flashed the kernel of your choice remove it from usb... Reboot phone... At boot logo hit the corresponding button to go into recovery... Back or Vol down depending on the kernel... If you don't hit it continuously it will go to black screen because it doesn't have anything to boot***
This concludes my guide... If you find this guide helpful please hit the thanks button... Or if you have any suggestions to make this guide better I'm open to feedback.

Accidently flashed p700 kitkat on p705

I found the development thread, downloaded and flashed the p700 version instead of the p705 like I should have and now clockwork won't let me flash the correct version...
Is there a way to correct my mistake? I wouldn't normally care as it seems to work fine, but it's very annoying that the phone won't get out of Edge mode and I have perfect 3G nearby.
Thanks in advance!

Why won't it let you flash the correct version? Just put the ROM on your external SD, boot into CWM and flash the correct ROM. If that's not possible, I suggest you flash your country's firmware via KDZ and then root your phone, unlock your boot loader again and flash the correct ROM (this is the long way).
You should flash again CWM with CWM app. It'll probably overwrite your current recovery which probably kept in memory your device as a P705 or an other thing.

Yes, I am aware of how to flash a ROM, that's how I got into this situation. CWM keeps telling me the correct ROM is for a p705 and it says I have a p700, which is not true. It is clearly a p705!

Are you are saying that I should re-flash CWM? How would that change things?
You flashed a ROM that changed your phone to a P700, theoretically speaking. There is no way to revert, unless, and this is a theory and not a possible solution, if you find a different P705 ROM and try to flash that. Maybe CWM will let you flash that P705 ROM even though it thinks that your phone is a P700. If this doesn't work, I don't think there's a different way to change your phone back to a P705 rather than flashing the original firmware through KDZ.

Okay, I suppose I didn't make it clear. I already tried to flash the p705 ROM and CWM won't let me.
I am confused as to why CWM won't let me change ROMs considering that I haven't changed the recovery, only the ROM. Why would a ROM not let me change to another ROM? Maybe I have the incorrect CWM version?

Yeah, I guess it's just CWM trying to protect P700 users from flashing the wrong version, but not the other way around. Weird. Anyways, I suggest you give it a go with TWRP Recovery. They might allow you to flash a P705 ROM.

Actually, CWM considers your phone is a P700. But, if you flash a second time CWM with CWM app available on the Play Store, your recovery will be overwrited with a new recovery who " knows " you own a LG P-705. So, your problem will probably be solved. Or you can also flash TWRP.

Hold the buttons a bit shorter. It's all about timing.
Okay, i wasn't releasing the buttons fast enough, nevermind, its doing it's thing now, will update...
The problem looks to be the original firmware I had, I still get the same issue now. I need p705 specific firmware to start with...
A little history on the phone, my friend gave it to me because she couldn't remember the pin to open the phone, so I had to flash it to use it. My bad, I guess i didn't know where to get the v20 file to start with. Do you know where I can get a p705 specific version?
Bad post, sorry!
For the record, our phone is the same as the 700. Only they had nfc while we don't. So it's ok to flashed it but the downside is you don't have deepsleep. The battery will drained because of nfc. So relax, you don't need to go over the kdz flashing as long as you can go to cwm. So questions:
1. what Rom did you flashed?
2. If you hate the kdz flashing, then just go to cwm and flashed the correct one. But before that, you need to delete the first line of the updater script in order for it to continue.
3. Or you just stay with the Rom, and delete all nfc related files and flash 705 kernel. For nfc remover, just go to apps and themes section and look for nfc remover by caliban as reference.

I installed it exactly as specified in the OP, and it's not even the right firmware version. it says that it's based on 32.0.A.6.200, but it installed 32.0.A.6.152 to my phone, or didn't actually install the system, despite Aroma completing successfully. What I've been left with is a non functional phone that I have no way of restoring back to stock, since ADB isn't working anymore so I can't use the flashtool to flash a stock FTF.
If i remember correctly that flashtool does need flash mode to flash ftf not adb.
