So on Saturday we had a pool party went to the pool with my wallet and phone in my pockets .ofcourse I forgot to check and I jump in the pool phone and all and I didn't realize untill 5 mins later when I bumped into the pool wall and felt it on my leg. I took it out I thought it was over but i decided to give the rice trick a shot and It worked . I'm preety amazed at how durable this phone is the only thing not working is the power button which is actually kinda annoying any ideas on how to get it working again?

i dropped my in the toilet for a couple of seconds once. stuck it in dry rice overnight. for the next few days everthing worked except the touch screen was wonky. i ordered a new phone, but by the time i got it the phone i dropped was working like new. i swapped them anyway since i was going to pay the hundred bucks no matter what but i'll bet that phone would have kept on trucking
I have always had a preference for Samsung because (among other reasons) in my experience they physically build phones so well. Great anecdotes abound of their phones taking severe beatings and spills. Mine has already survived one nasty fall, and I don't use a screen protector anymore. Good stuff. ^_^

Yessir! My moment took a dive down a 5 story elevator shaft... screen was scratched pretty bad, but I put the battery back in and it powered right back up...

I'll check my sd card if she mightve hit the power button, slid the lockscreen, and hit the camera button, focused, and shot a picture with her *****... but i highly doubt it guys.
i was venting pretty heavily, talking with my hands..... it slipped and missiled against a living room wall and absolutely shattered
well... it looked like it shattered, i don't use a case or a screenguard, batt cover popped out and batt went clear across the room
picked it up, reassembled, looks like new

I have no idea how some people have their phones on for over 24 hours and only have 4 hours screen on time... that is LIGHT use... my screen has been on for 4 hours at the very most 8 hours after puulling it off the charger.. I never get more than 8 hours on battery because I use my phone way too much for that... lol

I like face to face communication, and even though I use my phone for business and syncing three email accounts all day, I cannot see what I could possibly do on my phone that much per day.

My best battery life on CM7:
I didn't get the screen on time but 54% is a good amount.
I was using the night RenderFX in CM7, thats why the colors are different.
I have a 3500MAh battery and i get like 30 hours of use 2-3 days standby with CM7 best rom by far even with OC kernel i get close to that with 1200Mhz cpu and 300Mhz gpu so i cant complain one bit and then i have the original battery as a back up so im good for almost a week. Best part is i only paid 7$ with free shipping for the bigger battery.
Just broke 4 hrs display time with CM7 and have 2 % left. Not bad.

im sorry to say but i dropped my phone spider cracked the screen and now sprint wont give me a new one so i have to deactivate my epic =/ bcuz the touch screen no longer works this also means that my attempt at development will no longer be in progress =/ i was gunna bring you guys a rom i call chocolate chip cookies ( 40% finished) but i guess thats just not gunna happen any ways im gunna deactivate my epic and go to ...... the intercept =/ =/=/ D= ihate it but i gotta ride it out for 30 days until i get my upgrade then hopefully if the rumors are true im getting the galaxy sIII im really gunna miss you guys... and my epic ....

I feel for you. I just dropped my Epic in the pool. It sat at the bottom of the deep end for a couple minutes before I got it out, but my story has a happy ending because after a good 8 hours or so everything except the capacitive buttons started working. I'm hoping it hangs in there now until my update date.

I think new screens can be had for not to much, might be worth a shot...
Cheapest one I saw was this one if you wanted the lcd + digitizer assembly... its like 88 bucks but would still involve you dissasembling it.

Ha ha, To be honest with you the first thing that popped into my mind when I realised it just fell out of my window was
"Sh!t, it better not be broken"
Then when I picked it up and saw the entire thing cracked I thought
"Nexus 4? "
But "sadly" it works great and I've given it off to repair to a local repair shop. I'll see how much they charge and if its less than £50 I'll just repair it.
I did promise myself that I wouldn't buy a new phone until this one becomes completely useless. But at this rate I'm running out of excuses not to buy a nexus 4!

Woot! Just got an email from the repair guy saying its done. Annoyingly I'm too busy (read: lazy) to go collect it right now. I'll have to stick with my mums galaxy Europa until the weekend, its been 48 hours and I've already resorted to installing cm7 on a phone that's not even mines!

It only cost £17. A lot better value than a nexus 4 but it was just the digitizer that needed replacing as the LCD was fine. Rather annoyingly I think there might be 2 specs of dust between the screen and the glass but then again I had been using it with an annoying "rainbow" scratch for the last 2 years which is now gone so... I'll just have to live with it!
I still can't believe how it managed to survive such a fall with "minor" damage

Well, a friend of mine drove over my DHD with his car, and only thing which broke, were the speakers but this was probably because of the snow. But this isn't a big problem for me as I use my DHD most of the time with a headset.

its permanent spot "the charger" and use it as a door stopper

The blink feed I have read can't be turned off. It will be though through rom development.

But OT, I will use it to convert even more iphan boys lol. To date 18 people have switched because of me. I'm trying to break 20 before the One comes out.
I will probably take a copy of Razzle to the bathroom.:laugh:

As far as i know HTC is probably fastest in upgrading its latest smartphones. Though samsung nowadays dpes job quicker. Guess due to its light weight touchwiz ui

Why? i recall rooting my One X a couple of weeks after release
Run to my cousin who keeps bragging about his iPhone 5 and slap him in the face(to take the apple charm off his face) den give him the one to play with...and if after that he still keeps the iPhone I will shoot him in the head
