I've seen a number of ROMs that state the radio has been removed or there is no radio included. What exactly does the radio do?

Radios aren't dependent on the rom. Go for it.

Measure Twice / Cut once.
Kimbo is correct, the radio will not be included in the Nanadroid backup. But it would be in your best interest to jot down the radio number in case you want to go back to it.

On the BT note - it is fricking same chip, read the service manual.

This topic is so [email protected]@dy confusing. Does the s4 have fm radio hardware or not I see all over the place contradictory information that it does and other info saying no.
If there is no fm hardware how is sprit fm radio going to work?
