[Q] Just One ROM Working With HTC HD2 ( T-Mobile ) - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi there,
I got an interesting problem with my HTC HD2 ( T-Mobile / US ) It runs just one ROM, an old version of JW's MIUI 2.3.4 build ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1050645 ).
I have no problems with OS, I love this version ( thanx to JW ) but yesterday we tried to flash a different ROM to my friends HTC HD2 ( same as mine, bought at the same time ) but it didnt worked. Stucking at green HTC logo when booting.
We tried different types of ROM's, We got the right HSPL, Radio and using MAGLoader with Recovery ( DAF.exe )
Same version as mine ( Jul 2 Build of JW's MIUI based on 2.3.4 Ginger ), is working stable but no other Rom's working.
What is the problem or Do I forgot something to do ?
Sorry for the long problem... Thank you

correct partition size?

Tried 150, 200 partition size with lots of ROM's ( Magldr partition size ) and 45 MB cache ( as default in HD2toolkit ), should I do any other partitions ?

for most roms cache size is 5m not 45m. that may be your problem.

I'll try that tomorrow. And what is external 1/2/3/4 partitioning. At some Rom's it says ext/4 1 gig part. I dont get it.

CWR can create an ext partition I do not recall if it is 3 or 4. An ext is basically just a partition used mainly in linux. Here it is used to create more space for one to install applications. Supposedly ext 4 is faster than ext 3. There are also certain roms that will not work unless you have this partition set up on your sdcard.

I guess that these numbers will just change by flashing an official rom.
All your versions are based on this ROM.
But all the people that I know when they change their roms this numbers also change...

[Q] android help

i have a htc hd2 im trying to install android desire build v5.7 ive tried all the ones possible even froyo 2.2 but evey time i do it alls i get is 2 lines down the screen n they stay there ive left it for hours n nuthing happens am i forgetting sumthing ? can anyone please help
You need a later radio rom, I use 2.15.50.14. I also flashed my wm to the cheetah base 3.14 rom. I have had no problem loading android.
You may also need to FULL format, not quick format, your sd card to get rid of the file ghosts left behind...
Good luck, I hear it shouldn't be long before a gingerbread build, Android 2.3, will be available... Cheers...

HD2 LEO (EU) & Sense 3 ROMS -- (Nand vs SD)

I wonder how you people are managing a Sense 3 ROM on the HD2 LEO (EU)...
I flashed a couple of the available Nand Sense 3 ROMs here and all of them were really heavy, I was totally uncomfortable with my HD2, too slow, many glitches, laggy and sometimes hanging :S so impossible for a daily use although Sense 3 is simply tempting ...
To my surprise, I gave a try to a SD Sense 3 ROM (MccMBoxmaX_GS_V_6.5__3D_carousel_effect) and the results were totally incomparable to the Nand Sense 3 version that I've tried..
The question is I don't prefer to use SD ROMs on my HD2 (having to boot Windows first...); so will SD Sense 3 ROMs technically (with their bulky size) be more reliable and faster than similar Nand ROMs or something must have gone wrong with my previous Nand Sense 3 flashing?
something proably with your setup
i have been using sense 3 fora while now and dont see any slowdowns, they are fast and have no issues apart from the known issues of gra[phics glitches and camcorder not working

- Do u have LEO (512) or TMOUS (1024) ?
- How do u partition / prepare your SD card for a Sense 3 NAND ROM? isn't it 1024MB with 0M Swap through MAGLDR ?
- What about your system partition and cash size ? Do you use HD2 Android Nand Toolkit or similars ?
- Do you use cLK or MAGLDR ?
- Is there a clear tutorial how to flash a Sense 3 Nand rom around ? I have no problem with other Nand (non sense 3) roms... like HyperDroid CM7, HyperDroid-GBX, NexusHD2 Gingerbread... BUT unfortunately each has its own set of bugs that made me drop them...
So far my experience with Sense 3 roms is: slowness, lagging, frequent FC (specially during booting).. how are you guys overcoming or surviving with this?
And also, you dont need winmo to run Android from the sd.
SD Android can be run through Magldr directly
You may wanna give this a try...

Fastest, less bugs, no lagging, no FCs, read the user feedback in thread.

yes it is a eu leo
ive had 1 gb ext partition since inception of it being used
i use clk
there is no difference flashing the a sense 3 rom to another other using CWM
providing you wipe the partion and data before flashing you shouldnt get any FC
to be honest all the information you need to flash is in the rom creators post, if you are unsure of how to partition etc or flash then i suggest reading all the information thats available
i have a question: whats better, flashing from NAND or SD?
and why?

Just spending five minutes in reading a bit doesn't hurt you know, but we'll help you:
1- SD Android doesn't overwrite windows, you're actually using SD like a phone memory. when you reset you'll be back to WinMo and will have to run Android again.
2- What's working and not working is always mentioned in the original (first) post of every build. From my brief experience with American Android, Wifi, Camera, and GPS are working, you have to try the other features and let the developer know if something isn't working well for you. make sure to post your whole info: HD2 TMo or EU, Radio, What WinMo you're using (not very helpful but wouldn't hurt writing it anyway), and what Android version have you downloaded.
3- As long as the radio is 2.XX.50.XX you're fine.
check your SPL version though, I've never tried Android with SPL 3.X some say it doesn't work.
4- You can dual boot (or triple or even quadruple boot) Android with windows as long as your multiple android builds support having more than one beside them (and a bit of your luck as well) the program is just a shortcut for you not to use FExplorer to run Android :/ so the answer would be yes.
when you run android and have some problems, you can use search because there are many threads to solve almost every problem you'll have with android, one of them being mine (in my signature).

[Q] What should I do?

Hey Guys,
Alright few days ago my dad gave his HD2 to me and I went through many Custom ROMS of Android.
I liked this one much and for me it's stable; NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.7 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860 )
Now I don't know what to do, if I install this ROM with NAND, I can install some apps in the beginning but after it show "invalid package error" due to less space in phone memory and it gets slow too.
Few days ago I bought MicroSD 8GB 4 Class memory card and now I'm thinking to install NativeSD version of it with 1GB EXT4 partition.
Will it work like NAND, I mean will it be fast? Or should I install INT2EXT ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124 ) with NAND only. Its been like 3 weeks I'm just removing and installing ROMS, I just want a stable ROM for my HD2.
If you have any other suggestions please share it with me.
Thank you.
