Hi Iconia users!
My name is Mortem Tuam. I have been doing Custom wallpapers, icon sets and other assorted sundries for the Samsung Captivate for some time now. I've also worked with Captivate ROM devs and Theme devs on projects for the Captivate.
I am now a proud owner of a rooted Iconia tablet and have decided to start a thread here for wallpapers. (ALL WALLPAPERS ARE SIZED as best can be FOR 10.1" TABLETS! NOT SURE HOW THEY WILL LOOK ON SMALLER TABS) As with my other thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113444 all the walls I create will be on my website for easier access.
I encourage requests within reason. I will not do wallpapers containing nudity or anything that I think would be offensive.
For your convenience all my wallpapers can be found on my website http://mortemtuam.weebly.com/ which is easier than going through this whole thread. I encourage you to visit and share the link.
Please be patient if you have a request and I don't get to it right off. I have a family and a life (3 kids and a wife) and they come first before this. I am also involved with some ROM makers and theme makers doing work for them. Feel free to ping me
I do this completely free of charge and all my work is free for you to use. If you feel compelled to donate I will certainly not refuse that either, sometime donations are a good way to justify my time spent on Photoshop to my wife LOL.
But a few ways to thank me without donating are.
-Hit the THANKS button
-Hit the send thread to PORTAL button
-Share my website
-Spread the word about my walls and icons
Working on these walls and icons and working with Theme and ROM developers takes a lot of time and effort, not to mention maintaining the website. I am all for open community and sharing work but there should be a level of reciprocation from the community back to the people doing the work. And my feeling is none of the four things listed above should put anyone out for more than a minute. Small price to pay for original content I think.
PLEASE NOTE: My initial instructions are not effective. I am doing research now to find out the best method to get these walls to show on our tablets.
Thanks for your patience!
Thanks for checking out my thread! And check out the website, you may find something you like for your phones!
The tablet wallpapers are under Honeycomb Tablet Walls

which walls? can you post the links?
Are you downloading walls for your phone or tablet?
The walls for the phones are all 960x800 sized for Captivate not sure if they work for anything else..
please post the links to the images you are trying to save
thanks
just a little update.
After a few inquires about the Wallpaper app and re testing it myself all morning.
I don't think Wallpaper Wizard ii is as reliable as it should be.
You can still set wallpaper as normal but it will come out overblown and grainy.
Let me do some more research on getting these to show properly on the devices.
Thanks in advance for your patience.
well, I believe I got this worked out though...I think I got a good resolution for the wallpapers but the Honeycomb cropping tools still stinks to high heaven.
So you'll need to download QuickPic free on the market and then download the image to the tablet....click the + symbol top right of the tablet and choose QuickPic wallpaper....choose the pic from there and set as....should be cropped already and should only lose just a few pixels.
give it a go with this wallpaper and please let me know if it works for you guys!
please do try it because it looks like imgboot my hosting service....resizes the pic and it may not work
damn it...I wish I could re-up my PRO account on my website

OK guys
I think I got it licked
try this on your tablets and report back please.....tell me if it looks ok using the stock cropping tool....
if not try this
Make sure you have QuickPic installed on your tablet (free on the market)
Then download the wallpaper to the tablet
Then tap the + button at top right of your homescreen
Then tap wallpapers
Then quickpic wallpaper
Then click download
Choose the wallpaper (you should not have to crop anything)
Click save at top right of QuickPic app
It should set as wallpaper, you will lose a little off the top and bottom of the wall but I can make the walls so those parts shouldn't matter.
Then exit and tell me if the wallpaper looks nice on your tablet
here's the wall
anyone have any feedback?
if not I will move forward at the size of the last post with QuickPic as the install instructions.

It looks very nice using both stock gallery and Quick Pic. Good job.
Neat, I'll have to come back here after I get off work.
Its still blowing up the pics a bit. But its a big improvement. Bravo to you!

Have you tried using QuickPic?
I know it cuts off a bit of the bottom and top but it works better for me anyway than Wizard ii or the stock app.
Any of them without your logo in the middle?

LOL does my logo offend?
I can certainly move it to another location but as the stock gallery app and QuickPic remove the top and the bottom....not sure where to put it.
And as an artist, I like to have my name on them. And they are free and I am putting my own time into them. And I have put a lot of hours into ALL of my walls.
Yes I'm using QickPic. Agree it does work better than stock

Hey guys, given that battery life/Rom speed has improved on most custom roms for the HD2, I decided to give Live Wallpapers a try. I have been searching throughout many threads in XDA looking for some of the best Live wallpapers (According to my likes) which are around the forum.
However, I will be posting the original thread links because many of them are in beta testing stages and that way you could also help in the development of this awesome live wallpapers by sharing your experience with them.
I will be posting more as I find them and test them.
VR Tunnel - Here
DroidX Eye (many other colors) - Here
This are the Beloved LWP from the Samsung vibrant. This port works for non-rooted phones and are not phone specific. Tested them all and I don't see performance affected. at least nothing that im not willing to give for some aesthetic

more to come as I finish testing. Enjoy

install a file manager from the market (e.g. astro) then navigate to where you put the .apks on your sdcard
Digital Rain, its in the market.
I don't know about everyone else but I've noticed that any live wallpaper significantly slows down the performance of my phone. I've tried it on every build available. Maybe some people can live with the slow down but it bugs me. I can't wait until I can run live wallpaper well.
Thanks Dude. How about the Galaxy S Live Wallpapers. They have been ported to nexus one but couldnt find them in apk form

Some of them do. I have found many other LW and skipped them from this post. Imagine a 14MB LW. That one specifically was the best I saw for my likes but it slowed down the phone by a lot.
I hope that OpenGL ES updates are as nice as the latest flash updates I've seen. Hopefully AOS3.0 will do

haven't tried all of them but can confirm that core galaxy, nexus revamped, duck hunt, ones work. btw, for some reason that vrtunnel one works on my hd2 but not on my vibrant, which is unrooted. keeps crashing. is this because the compass on the vibrant is defective or the fact that it's unrooted? lol

Those of you, who have been on my dialpad skins thread, already know I've been skinning various items on my device to rep my team (Die Hard Eagles Fan!). I've skinned the analog clock used in cht. Once again, I liked the way it looked so much, I decided to make them for every NFL team and share. They are all installed using black hands.
I've added a 2nd set (v2) They all contain white hands that are set 75% transparency. If you'd like a different color for the hands, leave me a request and i'll see what i can do. Let me know what you guys think of them. Enjoy..
Only works if Cookie's Home Tab is installed.
EDIT:Here's a cab for the original cht clock.
Great work. Thanks.
One comment though - When I uninstall your cab, it removes the analog clock altogether. It does not restore the original clock. Fortunately, before installing your cab, I backed up the 4 files that it overwrites inside \Windows directory.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I did set the cabs to allow uninstall so i don't know why it erases all the files upon uninstall. I attached the original clock cab to the first post for those that want to revert back.

Hey ezzie, check out these clocks I put together for ya with images I had gathered a while back. I had plans on making a few different ferret skins and never got around to it. I kinda got back into clock mode for alil there cause of making the basketball jersey one's and thought it was a perfect time to at least make you a few of them. I had posted them on ppcgeeks a few days ago but I guess you didnt spot them yet. It won't hurt to post the here too and plus users here can have access to them as well. What do you think of that idea, would you like some different ferret skins? Sorry but didn't add the hands to the screenshots below. v1 & v3 have white hands and v2 has black ones. Enjoy..

ok so i got a bit bored doing my Law Case Study so i quickly chucked together this Google talk widget concept.
its very much in the zune/windows phone 7 look but at the same time i tried to make it match the new gingerbread colours and be comprised of very minimal elements to make it easier for people who like to skin things
in my mind it works very simply, the bottom displays a series of dots each dot represents a contact to switch between contacts you simply swipe left / right along the contacts gmail at the bottom (localised swipe to prevent issues with home screens).
you type in the top box black represents incomming the grey / white represents outgoing. green dot is obviously status (contemplating making contact dots at bottom represent status colours to)

well if you would like to put me down as a designer you can , but that's about as far as my usefulness will probably go on your project as there is no way id be able to code anything for a very very long time.
ideally i would like a code partner lol so i could design blah blah they can make it work then we can split market profit LOL!, ahh dreams
You can start designing for the dialer application. MDPI and HDPI must be done. Just tell me when you're done.
Omg that looks awesome. I was hoping someone could FINALLY make a gTalk widget of some sort considering it's my primary mode of communication.
Hopefully something arises from your concept. Will be monitoring and donating if something like this would come to fruition.
Wow, this would be awesome, one of the few apps that I'd actually pay a couple of quid for (as long as it was relatively bug free).
Times like this I wish I could code, would love to see this.
I'd love it too. Really raises questions as to why one isn't included in stock..
wow this widget would be badass.....
ill keep an eye out for it in the future

It will require the gtalk app to be hacked and a new api must be used to bring up the keyboard on homescreen and send typed letters/words to the widget.
btw: swiping left/right for changing contact won't work, it probably have to be implemented with two buttons.
And: The conversation list will probably have to grow from bottom to top so you can see what you are typing..
this widget is really needed ^_^
As a real Android AppWidget, this seems quite impossible.
Read the docs and you'll see how limited android app widgets are.
It is possible to integrate it in a launcher's code directly, and I would love to see it somewhere eventually. Nice design
And?
Scrollable widgets have also been impossible until developers agreed on a proprietary scrollable widgets api.
I'd love to see some sort of popup rather than a widget. If you're already going to press home and scroll over to a widget to check/send messages, it isn't much more work to just open the app. But if you could make some sort of popup that could come up over any part of the screen, that would be much less work and actually be useful.

Thanks to an XDA user named Lef.teris here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970643&page=1, the system dump for the Sony Xperia Arc has been posted. Another user named Paolo599 ripped the home launcher (called Sony Ericsson Home)... this can be found:
http://www.multiupload.com/2YETWLF218
I've been using it for the last 20 minutes with no force closes. Sony decoupled it's launcher with it's Time and Mediascape apps, so I'm guessing this is why it's relatively pain free to use.
Try it out, it's very cool. You can drag and drop apps into the dockbar and it has a folder management system FOR the dockbar. 5 screens. Very clean looking. It's app drawer also has "pages" as well. Only thing I see wrong is that it's made for slightly bigger phones because the dock text is cut off.
Lemme know how you like it. I don't know if the demand is there, but I'm sure if the home works this good- all we need to grab is the walls and the sounds and we can transform the look of our Vibrant's pretty fast.

Nice, got any screenshots?
Of it in action on my phone? No. But this is what it generally looks like minus the widgets and the dock text (it's made for higher res phones) http://topnews.net.nz/images/sony-ericsson-xperia-arc-01.jpg
That's pretty clean.. I like the silver battery mod.
Pretty cool, always nice to have new options. It does look a little cut off at the bottom though.
Well, according to the Arc section- Sony has made everything in the launcher open source to distribute and mod so maybe someone can mess with the resolution?
Maybe a full on port?
In the short time you've been using it did you notice any selling points of the launcher beyond the look of it?

Folders, the app drawer looks nice, at least unique with custom ordering. Btw, its free, small, and you can switch off at any time, why do you need to be sold?

The bottom doesn't line up because the Arc has a higher resolution than our phones. A dev is going to have to mess with it if they want it to be perfect.

Good work! Thank you.
The more content like this people produce the better for everyone.
for anyone that is interested I've found that with no art skill you can still make these if you rip videos from you tube into image frames and follow stunt doubles instructions to make the animation.zip. I know it's cheating but it's simple and easy and let's even a goof like me make his own animation.
These look super nice, but unfortunately I find them too laggy to use. It takes ages to render the animation the first time around.
So I'm going back to Honeybee for now, being under 1MB it's pretty smooth.

I admit that the first of render the boot animation is pretty laggy. However, it would not appear after the first time.
I made the boot animation is about 640*400. I have already lowered the resolution and I just want to keep the basic view.
