i have had it happen on sense 3 it gets stuck at times just when it goes to sleep and weont come on, its as tho an incoming message/email etc has arrived but is stopping the device from waking up
I've got the exact same problem, would be really happy if someone came up with a solution.

i downgrade the radio to 2.14 and 2.13 but i cant connect to mobile internet network.
if i upgrade to 2.15 the mobile internet network come back ...
so i cant test the radio

i dont know what the f#@$ i did last night with the radio flash but i'm still with 2.15 and i woke up with the device still working after an overnight charge.
so i guess we fixed it
i will give it one more night to be sure
Re flashing the radio to the same version will probably fix it, this is one of the main reasons for running a task29 every time you install a new Rom

Hi there,
I've downloaded and flashed the latest ruu file (RUU_Buzz_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.22.405.1_Radio_13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10_release_160191_signed.exe) from shipped-roms.com.
Now my battery totaly discharges within 10 hours without any wifi or 3G usage and auto-sync is off.
When I switch to airplane mode it keeps 100% of its charge for 8 hours that is great. but whenever I turned off the airplane mode, my battery starts to drain and lose 10-15% of its charge for every hour. So I think there is a problem with radio, but it is the latest version(13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10)
I lost root access since I flashed the ruu. Also the older ruu files did not work when I tried to downgrade because of the new hboot I think.
I already tried the battery trick.(8 hour charge, turn it off and charge for 1 more hour, turn it on and charge for one more hour) and I flashed the ruu file when the battery was 100% charged.
So, please guys help me, what else should I do?
I experienced the same problem but with every roms / radio I tried.
I figure out that with another sim card my battery curiously work normally, 2 days or so. Very annoying.
And recently I found a substitute : I checked "use only 2G" in network options, now my battery can stand 2 days easily by normal use. (but I have edge instead of 3G network, but it's enough to get email and other basics usages)
I contacted HTC for this, they told me to send my phone for repair, but i'm scare they simply change it and give me one with last Froyo update witch i will not be able to root.

Thanks toma.sbk, but I can't see the "use 2G only option". I've three options to select in the menu, WCDMA only,GSM only, WCDMA/GSM auto.
Did you mean, I should check the "GSM only" option? I tried that option but no thing has changed so far

Yes, 2g is GSM
I use openfire, so I have the "use only 2G" but you should try "GSM only" (but can you acces at least Edge in gsm only mode ?)
curious thing is that you seems to be on vodafone türkiye too.
did you tried other sim-card ? from vodafone, or from turkcell ?
Yes my carrier is vodafone Türkiye and I've not tried any other carrier yet but everything was fine before the update.
So there seems to be a problem with the radio version, maybe the original one was optimized for Türkiye and the ones that we flashed into our phones are incompatible with Türkiye's gsm operators.

So our sim-cards our faulty then? but everything was working fine with stock Eclair so there should be no problem with vodafone.

Yes, with my friends simcard it worked fine. But not sure there is 3g.
And i use this phone in france with french simcard and 3g, it work normally too, no battery issues.
So i thought it was my simcard who had a problem and change it at vodafone, but still the problem is there.
And if i flash the official 2.1 ruu the problem still there.
I don't want to take the risk to send it to htc for repair, if they flash their 2.2 i will maybe not have the market.

Maybe, but everything was working fine before the update.
Now it is fine if I change network mode to "GSM only".
Whenever I turned on the "WCDMA" (aka 3G) my phone is starting to heat and battery drains 10% perhour. So I can't use 3G for now
I'm pretty sure that the problem is about the radio version not the operators.
what is your radio ? mine is 13.45.55.24H_3.35.15.31
do you know/remember what was it when you buy the phone, the original one, if I found it, i'll flash it to try, so we will be sure.
My radio version is 13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10.
Unfortunetely I don't remember the original radio version. I'm searching for it.

Hahaha... For all the future "enthusiasts", just to be clear on this, THERE IS NO BATTERY TRICK!!! At least not in the way you describe it...
If anything, YOU ARE DESTROYING THE BATTERY THIS WAY!!! Making what is called a "memory effect".
Batterys do not function in that way... You can learn about charging batterys on many sites, but this has got nothing to do with Android, so I'm not gonna explain that here. But you can trust me, I've been in RC modelling for more than 20 years...
So your problem lies with the radio or something else...
But spare your battery from the "charging tricks" ;-)))

But Maybe the phone in turkey is sell with a "custom" radio cause it is sell with a "custom" rom without the market.
could be good if the other people who use their phone in turkey help us here :
- where did you buy your phone ?
- what is your baseband version ?
- did you ever flash your rom ? make OTA update ?
- what is your connection (HSDPA ? Edge ? ...)
- and the most important : do you have any problem with your battery ? how long can you use it in normal use ?
Hi,
Ive checked around the forums and used google but i cannot find a thread thats the same problem as mine.
every Nand Build Android i use has the same problem, I have full bars for 5 or so mins then it drops to no signal (or 1 bar) for another min then back to full again, as far as i can tell this doesnt affect calls as ive rang peope on no bars. Is this an issue with my HD2 or a common one? when i flash back to Win Mob my bars constantly stay full.
ive got on at the moment:
HANDSET - WWE HD2
ANDROID NAND ROM - Core CellHD 1.4v
RADIO - 2.15.50.14
NETWORK - O2 UK (POSTPAY)
LOCATION - LEEDS UK
Anyone know the anwswer?... Cheers
Bro ..am having the same problem since yestt ..getting the exact problem with everynand build i use ....i will just move to WM to see if its fine there
3G signal drop
I got no 3G signal all the sudden.
This after couple of day of weak signal, then decided to switch to Cyanogenmod.
No signal for a day, then decided to revert back to old Rafdroid, and still no signal
I'm about to use this phone as paperweight

same here.some help?
Ive just bought a HD2 to flash Android on, I havent flashed yet so I cant talk about this issue in Android.
But on WM I get signal drops too using O2, whereas on my TP2 I get full bars and very rarely get drops. My area hasnt got great 3G coverage so on my TP2 it stays steady on 2G, but sometimes tries connecting to 3G, but it will go back to 2G. But on the HD2 it seems like it doesnt want to stay on 2G and will keep trying to connect to 3G while showing no bars nearly all the time. But turning 3G off solves this problem.
If your in an area with bad 3G coverage that could be the reason, so try switching 3G off and see if it stays.
Same problem here, try flashing wp7 and back to android and see if that fixes it
Or alternatively try and flash clk

This happened on other native android devices I've owned, conclusion.
You're holding it wrong!! Lol
Seriously try holding the phone sideways where the camera is and watch your signal stay. Your hand is blocking the radio signal causing degredation. I believe its on the bottom part of the phone.

I found this while searching on google. I take no credit for this, but am posting it here so that you can use it too.
Basically it enables airplane mode and disables it at boot. It doesn't add any time to boot, because it coincides with the Media Scanning.
All you do is install it and forget about it.
Anyway, heres the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=938677
Ignore that it says 2.1 only... Works just fine on my ROM.

I actually had this installed for a couple weeks now. Phone boots and then goes into airplane mode. I did love the one time where my phone booted up, I got a phone call right and forgot about the airplane mode and it kicked me off the call!
It won't download to my phone and I'm stuck at work. Can anybody upload it here or post a drop box link for me? Thanks!
Edit: Forgot I can use Astro for the download.
Mike, what do you think of this explanation and fix? It is interesting to read there why this happens, if nothing else. I look forward to your ROM fix tonight!
I actually have 2 tasker events setup that takes care of this nearly transparently. On device shutdown tasker sets airplane mode and clears it on boot.
I just have to do it manually if I get some kind of random reboot or sleep/charge death.

I only realized this was an issue sometime last week and when I checked it was 50%.

Exchange it, if you have not done any changes to rom, as this firmware has no such bug, probably its a hardware issue.

I found the issue with Advanced Task Killer. I am using Android Booster. Now it is working fine.
This has happened to me twice in 4 weeks on jvk. Talking on phone then it quickly boots up. Faster than a normal off then power on though.
Also.
Maybe why the screen goes to sleep during a call...
If you set screen off to say 10 mins, when on a call the screen stays active for duration of call except when held to ear, then screen off sensor kicks in and its working normal. Seems screen off setting also switches off phone screen at set time instead of staying active.

flash zach's antlion kernel or tk4-glitch kernel. the 'twoface' kernel might be the problem
Mine also rebooted, but it was on 2.1. The problem was that there was a bug in samsung's code. When I tdisabled the power saving mode under Settings > Display. The phone stopped rebooting.
I have 2.2.1 now and power saving mode is enabled without any problems.
