help cant install apk files anymore

plz help
I have an rooted x10a(r23) and Iv been installing apk files by transferring them to my sd card.
Iv been using Astor to install them. Also i have non market apps checked in my settings.
Today i tried to install an apk file using Astro, but it wouldn't let me. it just goes back to an blank screen and then back to the install screen.
Does any one know how to fix this?
Happened to me after I rooted my phone. But not immediately after rooting.I removed all the unnecessary apps and stopped all the third party services using startup cleaner, dunno if that did it, but I am able to install apks again.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
also the same problem x10i R23, rooted one week ago. Till yesterday it was no problem to install apk files. Since today it is not possible!
interesting. this same thing happened to me before i rooted. after i rooted i was able to install any app.
Try checking the install from unknown sources option in the settings.

This point is selected but since today it is not more possible to install apk files.
Installation only direct from the market is possible.
Maybe a bug in the root???
I replaced the rooted R23 through R2BA0024 (not rooted) and have now no problem to install apk files.

Look up apps2sd its custom for 2.2 froyo but there is a work around for earlier versions, research lots before you do anything coz you can mess your phone settings if you don't know what your doing.

Random apps not installing

Hey giys, and thanks for reading.
I have a slight annoyance, since i switched from azure to stock froyo rooted, some apps ( pocket legends, angry birds, sliceit) won't install. Could anyone tell me why this occurs, and if so.. how to fix it?
Thanks
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
Does this happens when you are instlaing them from market or from other sources? If you have .apk files of thos apps, you should install them trough HTC sync from your computer, this usually worked for me.
It unfortunately didn't help .
Try with different SD card or fully format yours. And then try again.
Did that, I am not installing them to SD card btw (don't know how to enable that on official froyo), but it didnt matter either way

Can't convert apps to

Help can't seem to convert apps to system apps using links2sd (don't like doing it manually) every time I try that happens don't know why it's not my rom this problem was happening on my previous rom 2 (jellyblast v3) on jellyblast out used to work then it stopped when I changed to repencis problem continued then I uninstalled links and reinstalled from the play store and still nothing HELP!
Use root explorer bro.
Move/copy your apk to system/app and set the permission r-w--r--r--
I know how to do it manually I just don't like doing it that way out takes to long but thanks anyway
Use system-replacer with my kernel maybe

First move Swype to phone, then convert to system app. Or else it won't work.

Rooting the GT540

Hi, i got a gt540 yesterday, and i want to root it now. The problem is, that there are so many different how tos (some work, some not, some dont work for my phone) and tools etc. that i dont know which one i should use, and how i root it properly.
So what is the best way to root it (what program etc.)?
(my real problem is:
I had whatsapp on my last phone and made a backup. Now i want to import all contacts and chats on the gt540.
When i copy the backup (msgstore.db.crypt for example) to the whatsappfolder on my sd card, whatsapp wont recognize it.
I think it has something to do with the fact that whatsapp was automatically installed on the phonestorage, and not on the sdcard...) Now theres an app which can move data from the telephone storage to the sd card, but the phone has to be rooted...
i would really appreciate some help...
regards

Thank you, very easy to do! Now I can use apps to need my phone to be rooted
Yeah, Z4ROOT is very effective app for rooting, you can ask GOOGLE on how to use that
by the way, you can directly flash customs roms in your liking
( i believe almost all customs roms now are already rooted )
im using Android 2.3.7 base on AOSP v.2.0 with 2.6.35.10 kernel by miroslav_mm
Goodluck!
THANKS

Problem solved!!!!

I need little help or better an guide.i will install gingerbread keyboard or ics keyboard app as system app,i have see it often in custom roms, but when i install it with rootexplorer/with aroma file manager or with system app installer it whant work.i have tested many different keyboard app with many different methods, but everytime when i choose it under settings-local and text it give me forceclose.
it where very nice when anyone say me how to make it,many thanx.....
edit:have solved the problem, its very easy.to make it work u must open the apk and look for the libfiles which u find under lib-armeabi,just cpy all libs to your rom under system/libs and set permission rw-r-r- rhan reboot, done.have tested with ics keyboard-kii keyboard-gingerbread keyboard, all from store and all was working.
Re: Question/need help for install Keyboard app as system app
Try setting right permissions..
rw-r--r--
Y = Check
N= No Check
Y~Y~N
Y~N~N
Y~N~N
thats a normal way for such things, anyway i doesnt work
Re: Question/need help for install Keyboard app as system app
I dont think installing by root explorer is good idea. You bettr install through normal installer.
It will install if it is supportd. Otherwise getting FC is normal cuz rom dosent support that keyboard. System app installer also does the same sort of thing you did so but automatically. But same FC will appear... even with link2sd.
If stock keyboard bothering you just deleat.
supporting is not the problem, the thing is that i have 4-5 custom roms with those keyboards installed in system,so it must work and i will known how.
problem solved, when need info just look in first post.
Great. That was also my solution when I install lmt launcher on my karbonn a30 I opened the apk and took out the appropriate libs.
