just thought this realy needed some notice... i am so excited.. i cannot wait for andoid to be competed and out in the world.
Thanks for the heads-up! I'm pretty excited for the event.
There's a couple knocking round at work today. Looks okay, haven't had a go yet.
My N1 has just shipped out of Indy with an Est. delivery time of tomorrow afternoon. I live 2 hours away so it should be near me sometime today and I wanted to know if anyone else was able to pick theirs up from Fedex? And if so, what do I have to do to go get it?
Thanks!

I called them with my tracking number the night before it was supposed to arrive.
"I got a call saying that a package was slated for delivery tomorrow before 3pm. The issue is, i will be at work and I rather just pick the package up on my way home rather than have your delivery driver waste their time when nobody will be home."
They will leave it at the facility for you to pick up. Bring a photo id and the tracking number and once it is ready for you to pick up (usually around 8am) the online tracking report will say so.
I have been checking the carphone warehouse site religiously. Everywhere claims they have pre-order, which sure, the page is there, but now button to preorder.
Anyway, I have just noticed today that the "out of stock" has changed to "in-stock" and the "expected early april" has changed to "for delivery mid-april".
This looks hopeful, but I'm the kind that was born without and never learned patience, I really hope I don't have to wait until mid-april.
Still, promising news of us getting it some time soon.
Just to spark some potential conversation, I fully intend to get the 3G version since I think a Wifi tablet is a waste of time, if you can't access the internet on the go, what's the point?
I'm an Android Developer by profession so I use my Tabs and Phones all hours of the day in all manner of places. I can't wait till the London underground gets 3G, I'll take a trip there just to sit on a circular tube line with my XOOM
Hi,
PcWorld still have it for availability on the 9-4-11 for the wifi version so here is hoping, getting feed up of waiting now

Yikes, that's pretty much the end of April. How did you manage to pre-order? Website has nothing, and I tried the 3 stores in town, not one of them had a clue, half of the staff had never even heard of it.

alias_neo, you can preorder by clicking the ad on the carphone warehouse front page, then 'view deals'.
Now this is where the 'add to basket' didn't show up for me in firefox! It said 'Out of stock - Back order' but there was no means to actually buy. I opened it in IE (yuck) and the 'add to basket' button was there.
I also got the email saying delivery is expected on 19th April

Ahhh! I'v never used IE a day in my life, no wonder I couldn't find the button, bit of a flaw for Firefox users not to be able to buy it.
I got the Verizon version in the States last week works a treat over here (wifi only ofc) i could not wait for release over here...LOL
Lordao
if indeed they are expecting the XOOM in the mid of april, might as well wait for another few weeks till the google IO where rumours that they will be abnnouncing a similar to Nexus line of tablet. a pure google dev device.
i have pre-ordered mine as well, but tempted to cancel it after i heard that google might come out with a dev tablet.

No point, the XOOM is as good as a dev tablet. It's a comes with Google device so no mods, it will get the updates.
Unless something that can prove it's better comes out within a couple of weeks I'll be getting this for my development and general entertainment, I just don't have the patience to keep waiting.

it will get the updates, but most likely from either modders/hackers or officially from motorola. not from google.
look at it as a Motorola Droid, the first experience device for android.
not quite a dev device.
i was hoping it to be something like the the t-mobile G1, or the HTC magic where they make it a official dev device... but again, i might be wrong.
just another point. can't seems to find any information or download link of 99b3b5f5dcde.signed-trygon-HRI66-from-HRI39.00b3b5f5.zip that comes from google.
the file that floats around just seems to be the cached one.

Did the Droid have a locked bootloader?
I just saw this on Engadget: HERE
That the XOOM will finally be launched here in the UK next week. I swear, if they only release the Wifi version next week XOOM is going bye-bye and I'm spending the cash on a box of Cohiba Esplendido. I just don't have this kind of patience.
Any the rumour mongering alongside the negative user reviews is starting to put me off the device. I'm an Android dev in my day job, I want a dev device, not another Galaxy Tab like I'm stuck with now.

How likely is this? I'm interested for the same reason I got my N1, updates from Google directly rather than via a 3rd party. The Xoom is the tablet version of the Droid imho.
I cannot wait next week to cam! BUT! Something is holding me back, just from my experience the first product from manufacture is always suffer from bad design….. I think I will wait Samsung 10.1….. grrr I’m confused
Hi all.
Just like to display my disgust over these lawsuits between Samsung and apple. Been waiting what seems like forever to get my hands on a galaxy tab 10.1. Pre ordered the 64gb version from curry's in the uk. The release date ment to be this Thursday (18/08/11) But just had a email from them saying your product is now been cancelled due to lawsuits.
Just started this thread to see if anyone else had any other information concerning this matter. As i would like to keep my money and wait till it is back on the market.
thanks
matty
I understand your disappointment but there is no need to make another thread about this.

As of tomorrow, you can get one in the Netherlands.
At it's soonest the ban will start October 13th.
you can get one from Curry, not from online.
i might ask on Thursday in currys if they have any 64gigs, since that was the realise date. if not might scratch a 32gb if they have any left.
Seems like those ready to get their hands on the HTC One in Singapore yesterday (9/3/13) will have to wait quite some time longer. HTC has decided to abort the supposed launch of the One at the Singapore IT Show yesterday without giving any specific reasons. Carriers M1, Singtel and Starhub were getting prepped and ready for the launch with the launch gifts and offers and then suddenly announced that they're no longer offering the phone. And HTC finally responded and said that the One will be delayed until April at the very least. What do you think? Supply issue?
I saw a demo unit at one retailer, and I was kinda happy that we can still set up the number of home screen pages we want and not use blinkfeed, which I think is great. The price tag under the demo phone just wrote "Price to be announced".
