Best Rom to Flash ? - Acer Iconia A500

Hi everyone, I'm new to the xda forums, I have a question, which rom in your opinion is the best rom to flash to my iconia tab? , I want a rom that is faster than the stock rom and looks better.
Thanks in advance

1) this belongs in Q&A
2) I like Virtuous xoom (3.2)

True ^ But my favorite Rom is Lightspeed 1.0.

Moved to Q&A.....uhm...something is wrong with 10 post rules, need to investigate.

Thors Galaxy v1.0 and his kernal beta 8.

I apologize for posting in the wrong section, I just checked out Virtuous Galaxy v1.0.5 and I found out that it's the best looking one and the most important thing is that it has the touchwiz UX so I'm thinking of downloading it and then flashing it.
My internet speed is too slow so I think the download will take 2 hours to finish
Anyways thanks for helping me guys

Question regarding "best way of flashing smoothness, fastest and flexibel"

Hey guys,
I'm kinda new to flashing stuff, and I'm interested to take a step forward to try out by myself!
Alright, the question is according from a friend of mine, he told me the best way of flashing my SGS is by flashing the first android firmware which was 2.0 (first one I think?) and then 2.1, and then 2.2 to have best "stable" and most smoothness without troubling my phone to be slow.
Is that true? I mean, the firmware should be nice and smooth anyway if you just flashing directly from a new CFW, right?
I was thinking trying to use Darky 9.3 Extreme CFW.
If you guys have any better CFW you guys know out there, it would be very nice and much appreciation of you to share bit info of me!
Thanks!

No need to downgrade if you are on 2.1

Their are loads of different roms to try check out the help i broke my phone posts before using one .

Just go from 2.1 to the next. Likely 2.2.1 for you. Save the trouble flashing 3 Roms.

I just bought a new one!!!!!!

I just bought a new i9000 and I want to upgrade it to the latest OS possible (hope ICS 4.0 is available)..
I am REALLY a beginner in this..so please I need a tutorial from the scratch..
..
Why is so hard to read even the title of the very first thread in the General section? There you will find your answers...

Well, first of all, the latest roms are not always the best ones. Since gingerbread 2.3.4, we've had in sequence: JVQ, JVR, JVS, JVT and now JVX, JVW and JVZ.
However, many still consider JVR to be smoother and more stable than the newer ones. Then, there is also the wifi problem on JVS and above.
Similarly, there is the infamous phone.apk force close problem on all these roms, which was not present on gingerbread 2.3.3.
But gingerbread 2.3.3 had serious battery drain issues, which weren't present on Froyo roms.
So, here's what you need to know as a beginner:
-The latest roms and custom roms give you the advantage of theming, modding and tweaking, all of which are very fun and exciting. Seriously. I used to flash my galaxy s multiple times a day.
-But the smoothest, lag free roms are the Froyo 2.2.1 roms. Stick with those if you want stability and speed. After all, gingerbread doesn't have any important extra functionalities. But, froyo roms lack support for latest tweaks and themes.
So, if you're happy with your current rom, there is no actual need to change it.
But, if you are really keen on trying other roms before settling down, you need to be able to flash roms. To do that, you'll need to:
1) Install Samsung Kies to get the samsung usb drivers
2) Download odin 1.3 or above
3) Download the rom of your choice and follow their flashing instructions
4) To be safe, download a froyo stock rom and a gingerbread stock rom with bootloaders just in case you need to revert to stock
5) To be even safer, perform the unbrickable mod on your phone first, though the SGS is pretty hard to hard brick anyway.
thanxxxxxx

[Q]Have some Questions about Creed 3.5 and Stock Rom

Hello to all xda Members.
Since my SE mimmi is dead, ive buyd a GT-S5369 and i love it so far
Rooting, delete bloatware and so on was no problem at all (very good guides here)
I want mod more my Young and i have some questions (if i am in the wrong section please move it)
I have currently running the Stock Rom 2.3.6, rooted and cleaned and with few build.prop tweaks so far.
Ive read that the stock rom has not graphical modding potential, is that correct in fact?
There are Tons of Rom in the Development Section and
no panic i dont want to ask for the Best rom
I have one eye on Creed 3.5, is this rom for daily use (stable) or has it any bugs?
What about the Battery drain is it better than Stock?
Can i throttle CPU Speed in this Custom Rom?
or do i need a Custom Kernel?
Is there a one klick solution to Backup my Current Rom with all Messages (over 4000), Browser Bookmarks, settings, Apps and so on?
Thank you for any answer.

1) Stock rom is the most stable rom. No other rom can match it.
2) battery drain depends on the kernel configs primarily and then on your usage.
3)Merruks kernel allows CPU overclocking. The kernel will work with creeds 3.5
4)take a nandroid backup for backing up the complete rom( including messages, apps, kernel etc.)
5)i haven't used this rom but i can surely answer these questions b'coz i searched for the answers.
Moral of the story: Search in google or even in xda.
good luck.
Yes. Stock Rom is the best. But if you're asking if creeds rom has many bugs, i'll say no. Only one. The youtube app. You can't sign in if you have account there. But you can download the old one instead.

Best rom threads are not allowed on xda. Please head over to the development section and do some reading and decide for yourself what is the best rom for you based on your wants and needs.

[Q] Custom ROM, which and why?

Hi, I wanted to try a costum ROM on my note 3 because the official note 3 ROM has a lot of unwanted apps that just fills up my memory.
Looking on the threads, I see a lot of custom ROMs available that doesn't make it easy to start. So my question is which costum ROM do you prefer and why will you recommend me to get that one? Thank you in advanced!!
Just in case, my model is the one on the screen shot
Why don't you start with one where you understand the instructions .

I'd say go for Temasek's CM12.1 AOSP ROM. It's MUCH smaller than any stock Rom, & support is pretty good and it FLIES. I've now posted 2 Antutu scores over 49,000 - and I know benchmark scores are not real life performance but I never got over a 44,000 in any stock ROM.
If you want to stay based in stock, a very good custom ROM is Alliance ROM - think it's at v8.1 now.
HOWEVR, and this applies no mater what ROM you look at... READ, READ, READ... Learn what rooting is, learn about Recovery and why Odin on the PC is necessary. The more you understand about what you are trying to do the less likely you are to be posting back in the Q&A with... "Help! My phone is bricked!"
As you can see I have a exynos Chip so I need a ROM compatible to that.
I had done flashing in the passed when I have my Samsung Galaxy Duos so I have read a bit. But there are soooooooo much ROMs now that I dared to ask the question

Your choice of roms for N900 is limited to these .
